    roof storage rack or one of those enclosed roof boxes would enable you to keep everything safe from 2 and 4 legged creatures, nicely tucked away and dry. love the idea of changing jimny into micro camper for weekend adventures :D .

    Hello, warm greetings from the province of Pontassieve in Florence, Italy. I am the respected owner of a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a m13a 1.3 LT petrol engine, petrol, completely original, year 2001. It is indeed completely original, which I often drive on country roads and forest roads, and with the appropriate mud tyres it will also do me good. The Suzuki Jimmy 4x4, although completely original, I see it is in its natural habitat when I approach rural farm roads and forest roads that are used by logging companies to transport wood in logging trucks.

    Hey, nice Jimny! I just got myself one with the intention of using it just as you are. Is there any chance you have the dimensions of the wooden shelf you made for the back + how much of a gap there is underneath? I dont suppose theres enough of a gap to use it as a storage space of any sorts? Also when you remove the seats do you just leave it as bare metal under the wood? I was thinking about sound deadening the exposed area and covering it with a rubber mat of sorts

    • @keenauto88
      @keenauto88  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hi bud, thanks for watching 👍the size of the shelf is 800mm width and 900mm long, there is a company on eBay selling cnc cut outs for the back that might work better and look neater. The base is sat on 2x2 (50mm packers) so there is some space underneath but not massive. We use a rubber mat that was from the back of an old van to lay out over the bare metal. This works as insulation/deadener, but also helps not to scratch everything up.
      I threw this up one day a few hours before we were supposed to go camping out is scrap materials and we have just ran with it since! I am sure if you have more time and some creativity you could do something a lot better 👍 Enjoy the jimny they are siiiiick! And even better when you can sleep in them

      @@keenauto88 Hey thanks for the reply, really useful info. Actually spotted the CNC ones on ebay, they do look really neat but I'm hoping to bodge one together with spare bits and bobs. Loving it so far man, can't wait to do some serious adventuring!

      Really nice you included measurements. I'm 193 cm tall. Do you reckon it would be possible to squeeze another few cm? Or does your foam go right to the back door?

    • @keenauto88
      @keenauto88  5 месяцев назад

      @@zacsolomons the foam does go to the back door right up to the dash, but if you don’t mind being slight huddled it should be okay. Best way is just to try it out without the foam to save you wasting money. We do also use the foam in tent camping and having friends staying at the house so it’s universal 👍
