I just looked up blue rainbow trout and they are super rare. That's a sick catch. They say it is estimated that for every 4 million rainbow trout eggs that hatch in a spawn, only about 300 become Blue Rainbow Trout.
I'll be up at Convict next week. For fishing 1/32 oz mini jigs I've always just used straight 2lb mono. If going braid to leader, would you still use 2lb leader or potentially step up to 4lb? I'm planning on using 5lb braid that I have.
@@joem6010 hello 👋 you definitely want to go with 4lb fluorocarbon reason is all the stress will be in that leader and you will definitely lose fish using a 2lb leader .
The fish may have been on the small size but still alot of fun. Always appreciate instructional advice.👍
Thank you glad you enjoyed it . Fish on ! 🎣

There is a few hatchery’s that produce them that I know of . I’ve caught them here and there at convict and Sabrina .

It can still be very good I just recommend going to highly altitude lakes and fish mornings and even hard when it’s cooler
