  • This video was filmed almost a year ago, but I've been VERY slow at editing!
In this episode we find out what was causing the scraping noise coming from the engine. After stripping down and rebuilding the top end, the culprit is not what I expected, but no harm done!
I also fit an electronic ignition to make the bike run better without needing to fettle with points.

Needs crank seals. Those seals went hard 40 years ago. Stick with it. I've got a Husky WR250 '76 project that's been sitting in my garage for 30 years. Those old two strokes are great.

Yeah probably -- I replaced the ignition side which seemed to help a little, but worth doing the clutch side too. Once started it runs great, but it'll take either 1 or 20 kicks to start depending on its mood... It has a new owner now, I'm sure they'll have plenty of fun with it!

Hi Alex can you tell me who's ignition you fitted. About to replace mine and not sure who's to get. Thanks.

Hi, I got an electronic kit from InMotion trials. About £290 with the lighting coil, but it comes set up ready to go out of the box 👍

Had a 250 alpina later in the 70s think it was a 72 model older than yours as had the round barrel

Very nice! Yeah the round barrel is the 250, square for the 350. 250s are supposed to be a bit peppier at high revs I think, but the 350 torque is quite nice
