I believe the biggest difference is that the 36v version can shoot faster than the 18v version. If you listen the the mechanism the resets the firing pin it sounds like it resets faster in the 36v vs the 18v
Very cool informative vid. Just what I wanted to see. I just grabbed the 18 volt hpt at a great price from Lowe’s. I’m sure I’ll be satisfied. the biggest difference they say is speed but common sense tells me that if you want the lighter 18volt which is compatible with MV batts that’s for me. If you want a MV batt or to be able to use the corded adapter, then the new version is for you. I don’t like that it’s not backwards compatible and don’t care to use my adapter for a nailer. 😅😂we’ll see, hope Im right. I also like they are air filled and not nitrogen as with Milwaukee’s contender which I was seriously considering as well. Thanks again!
Metabo HPT is still Hitachi, Hitachi bought Metabo in I believe it was 2017, then not long after that a private equity firm purchased the Hitachi tool division from Hitachi and because of that they were no longer able to brand it as just Hitachi tools, so since they also own Metabo they changed the name from Hitachi to Metabo HPT (hitachi power tools). The metabo hpt tools are still made in the same exact plant that the hitachi tools were made, the warranties are still the same on all their tools, nothing has changed but the name. The original Metabo brand is still made in Germany and is a dark green color and is just Metabo.
Metabo is from Germany but tools made in china. Hitachi was from Japan with tools made in Japan. I still have a hitachi framing nailer. I’d rather pay 200 to fix my nailer than buy the new metabo nailers.
Sir, didn't Metabo buy Hitachi out? Soon, we shouldn't be seeing Hitachi on the Market, but it will take time b4 they sell all Hitachi brand names. Question: Do you think it was / is wise showing you aiming the nails towards your left hand , when nailing the two 90" pieces of wood. You have a great deal of people out here who are using this for the first time. I did appreciate you putting on your sunglasses, however. lol. Sorry, but I've done safety my entire life, so I look at every part of workmanship and process. Good work on the instructions, friend.

Yes because the compressed air mechanism, is what does the hammering not the battery
🤔 Perhaps lol it may also be a break in/age type situation
I'm looking to get the 36 volt, 21 degree framing nailer. Good information thanks for sharing.
Hello, I have one that turns on the light see and red at the same time and it doesn't shoot, what can it be? Thanks

Home Depot has the Milwaukee kit for 400$ usd
Acme tools has the metabo cordless framing nailers with a free 4/8ah battery
I have been happy with my hpt. That sounds like a good deal at acme. They’re a good dealer and always have some good sales and promos. Thanks!
I thought the 36v was supposed to be lighter. When I asked the rep he said it was one of their main issues with the original.

@@WilleyNelson69 Metabo doesn't make nailers. Metabo hpt nailers _are_ Hitachi nailers. You can still find Hitachi labeled nailers at some stores
Can you make a video “”VS”” like Metabo vs Bostitch cordless framing nailer
Is this better then the dewalt cordless framing nailer
Can you put paper strips nails in it ?
No. You need a 30° nailer for that. Or you could try to get the 30° magazine and swap out the 21° magazine.
The age old question paper or plastic?
Paper! Plastic is for Californians or Mew Yorkers or something
Wire?
@@leonardorojas1781 Nail strips?
Definitely paper. Saving the planet one nail strip at a time.
Paper, more nails per strip

Other way around, Hitachi bought Metabo.
From Hitachi > Metabo HPT: “Same tools, New name”
HPT stands for Hitachi Power Tools.
HPT stands for Hikoki power tools as in the rest of the world it’s simply known as “Hikoki”
Aren’t they the same brand just a name change
I thought they were the same now?
They are
