  • This was built by trial and error in our basement for a school science fair demonstration. The organizers asked for a waterwheel that generated electricity and then did something with it, as a demonstration of water power.

    A good example of people trolling to find something to critique- and then being mistaken entirely. And other than one outburst, (understandable) staying classy and trying to EXPLAIN... This is a great demonstration!

    A cool idea would be coupling this with a ram pump.
    I like how people complain about the power input/output ratio instead of using their imagination like connecting this to their house's gutter. For those lucky enougth to have some garden space, you can even build a "small" water tower that collects rain and have it generate energy whenever you open the valve. In any case, this is a basic water mill/dam type of cunstruction.

    You need a battery hooked up to the water pump, then pump the water to a higher container that will drop water over the water wheel . Have the power you are creating charge the battery add more generators & use the extra power you create off the added generators. Thats sure to blow the minds of the judges at the next science fair..

  • @smcx66

    Just put the water in a large tank and run a hose from the bottom so it'll feed itself. You can even add other pertetual motion device on the wheel to give it more torque.

  • @mattd7476
    @mattd7476 10 лет назад +2

    nice concept, but since you had the pump plugged into another power source all you are doing in this particular project is transferring energy from electric state to motion back to electric. you need to figure out how to start the pump off then switch it, after running the generator wheel for a while letting it get to maximum speed, to using a transformer and what not to power the pump from the wheel. good concept though

      It's beyond surprising; it's absolutely astounding that the folks making the comments you're referring to, and those voting them up, could possibly not understand that this is a demonstration, and that they are looking at a simulated water source.

    Why don't you plug the pump into your generated power? If it keeps running you might have something. My bet is that it's using more power than you're generating.

  • @bertjesklotepino

    sounds nice.
    I kinda wonder if it is possible to instead of using an electric motor, using a pendulum.
    I found some video to show how to change the motion from a swinging motion to a rotary motion.
    All that is left is to have something push the pendulum every swing.
    I was thinking of a magnet with a coil, like those magnetic pendulums you see out there.
    Depending on the weight of the pendulum bob and such......... would this setup produce more power than is needed to keep the pendulum swinging? Because the coil doesnt have to stay on very long, its just a little push everytime it swings past.......
    Perhaps if i include a small Vandergraaf machine, or tessla machine, to create a large enough static charge that discharges into the coil as well, to give it an extra bit of power.............
    Ofcourse it all has to be with little to no friction. So i was thinking of using magnetic bearings everywhere. Perhaps even enclose the system in an airtight container and fill it up with helium
    Anybody who knows if this would work to create energy?

    • @whochew5573
      @whochew5573 7 лет назад

      bertjesklotepino eventually magnets lose their magnetism maybe it would work for a while but you still have to find. Way to transfer the energy from the pendulum to the outside of the container without any friction ☹️

    Ok. . . Ok. . . So. I know nobody will read this, but I want to have a conversation about this. What I don't understand is why some people are... unknowledged enough to think this is actually perpetual motion, it isn't, but at the same time, I also don't understand the severe rudeness and set opinions of the people who think it's completely fake, it's not. To all who chooses to read this, just open your mind. I designed a machine like this, (I just don't have the money nor materials to build this and no one to help me) that works the same sort of way. You guys argue... "Yeah yeah the pumped water is just a way to simulate a natural water source." Exactly. That's what we want. To put this persons machine in simpler terms, or the way I drew it, water starts at the top. A "natural" water source. Gravity pulls it down, falling, and spinning a turbine. It falls to the ground in a pool. That electricity gained by the turbine runs a pump at the bottom of a pool. The pump, pumps water back up to the top, and the process repeats. And repeats. And repeats. The problem, you say, is that there is no proof that the turbine generates enough electricity to run the pump. Well there is. As long as the materials used are light, as long as the turbine is also lightweight, with good bearings, an no grease because that would ruin the idea of "forever" if it needs regreasing, if the pump was strong but used less energy, tech has gotten better since the posting of this video, and if you had a small, or big enough size hose to pump. Yeah that matters. Too big of a hose and the water will take more energy to pump. To small, and the pump won't get enough water up, to come back down. And being a gamer, and building automatic farms, this came to mind. Why not have more than one turbine? Duh. DUH. As the water hits turbine A, A spins, and the water falls downward still. Why not just fall onto another turbine, and turn turbine B, making MORE energy? Water doesn't lose all of it's force just because it hits an object. Alot, yes. But gravity still pulls it down.

    • @tinathompson7129
      @tinathompson7129 6 лет назад

      I read this and it is perpetual motion. Provided some criteria are met. 1. There will be a loss of between 20 and 50 percent because the "motor" feeding the "generator" will require energy from the generator to self maintain. That being said, the CONCEPT displayed here would clearly power one light bulb until the light bulb dies while it runs itself. There are mechanical components that must give way to the hands of time but anyone clever enough to devise a working mock up of something other than a power company powering a lightbulb would know to have back up parts. How about a 4 inch well that's able to power a small hydroelectric generator? The water is extracted from the well, much like water passing thru a fishtank pump is, while thrusting itself against the fins of a hydroelectric generator and then being returned to the well. The fishtank doesn't overflow because water is being returned as it is being taken. 35000 watts of power anyone?

      He's not creating energy he's generating energy. Thru electricity powering a pump, but his output is going to either match or undercut his input, this principal is only useful if your using free flowing water from a river to generate power from an alternater.

    uhmmm.... well, sorry in advanced. I'm really not trying to destroy any ethusiasms BUT this is not generating power.... u need power to run it (aquarium pump in the pool) and i bet this one needs more power then you "generate" to run that tiny top motor. For me a proper "generator" generates power without any men made syntetic power source to run it. allowed power sources are all natural like wind, light, water stream, heat, cold, tensions (wood, metal..) or muscle power.... think about it
