6 years later I'm here using Golden high flow and their Wetting Aid is my go-to dispersant. I don't like the Windsor Newton oxgall, which is clear - kinda weak in my impression, maybe I got a bad batch (maybe refined for painting?). Talas sells some real ugly, smelly oxgall with a layer that settles out - much stronger.
Hello. Thank you for the information you share, I have bought the Golden acrylics to work, for your recommendation. But I have a problem when rinsing, as some colors are diluted. I'm using a Canson Dessin paper, prepared with alum. I wanted to ask you, what paper works best with these colors? Thanks for your help, regards.
Hi there and thanks for this video. Have you tried marbling on denim jeans? I will do a few in the near future but not sure what paints i should use. I would like to try water based screen printing inks but they wont come out sharp on dark jeans without an under layer of white. I suspect the same problem with even high flow acrylics. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks a ton again! great video.
Danny, very helpful video! Thanks so much. Two questions: 1. I took a course in marbling a few years ago in the UK and we did not treat either the paper or the fabric we used but some of the videos I have watched in the past few days (to refresh my memory on technique) say to apply and alum solution to paper and fabric before applying to marbled medium. Do you prep paper and fabric with an alum solution? If so, do you rinse paper or fabric as soon as it has been marbled? 2. I have been doing some tests with carrageenan. In the course I took we did not rinse the paper or the fabric, we just let it dry. In some of the videos I have been watching, the marblers are rinsing the paper and fabric with water right after the paint is applied. I tried this and the paint washes off - at least partially. I am using Golden high flo paint. Thoughts? Much appreciated. Noel Knille
Hi Danny. I am current using the Golden’s that you mentioned, but I’m finding that they are spreading out too much. Any tips on how to make them spread less?
you can put a a small dab of paint on the tip of your stylus(awl, toothpick, skewer...) and touch the surface of the size(water) with the stylus to make a small circle.
Danny Ebru thank you. I’ll give this a shot. This is by far the best paint I’ve found. I appreciate your videos. They are very helpful. Looking forward to more content.
I've just started marbling and I was worried about what paints and paper I should use. I actually got lucky using the stuff I had in the house: coloured inks and rice paper. It's worth trying out! You get a really nice texture from it
Yes! This was the answer I was looking for. Question: How to make your own marbling paint.
Hi Danny, thank you for this video. Would you please make a video of how you prepare the size for marbling to use with acrylic paint? Thank you.

Hi Danny, Finding black Golden High Flow a
Acrylic a problem! Water, airbrush medium, gall, don't dilute well. Black is still blotchy. Any tips?
do you use just plain water to float onto?

Danny, whats the best paper to use for marbling? Also someone told me to use turpentine to dilute my oil paints and they did not float.
