“The need to access the battery compartment with a screw driver isn’t ideal for professional wedding photography” - Noted. I was really on the fence before you mentioned that.
I think the bluey camera is a vibe. I expect to see it show up at car shows and urban photo walks soon. Missed opportunity to tie in a sponsorship with Topaz. I think the pink camera needs to be sent back to where it came from with no friction modifier.
I can't believe that the Bluey camera just nails 99% of the looks of all the questionable poem blogs imagery I was obsessed with in the late 2000s/early 2010s
The cheap kids cameras with built in thermal printers are great fun. Kids can blast away and print b&w images on receipt paper without the crazy cost of something like Instax.
At 8:05 bluey camera just goes to show photo quality isn't about the amount of pixels but the quality of pixels. Phone companies should take notes from the likes of Arri and Bluey.
@@Florianski Whether you think it works or not, the justification for the ridiculous sensor resolutions on phones is that they're pixel binning so it's not that simple
@@kendokaaa i know but pixel binning isnt some silver bullet that can fix everything. If the Pixels were larger the photons would average themselves out naturally kinda like when they are averaged mathematically through binning. Its mostly the same. the real difference is that 200mp is better for marketing.
I'm 99.9% sure it's just the lack of a high contrast sharpening filter on the pink camera that makes the difference. I doubt the camera is actually 12MP.
All the pics, from a composition / lighting / storytelling standpoint, were great! Shows how good a photographer Chris is. Merry Christmas and God bless!
Can't believe I saw how awful the photo posted was on Instagram, and I still intentionally came to watch the video😂 lol you guys make any camera review fun to watch
That was actually really fun to watch. Great Aussie accent Chris. I bought my son a waterproof no name brand point and shoot off Temu and it is actually pretty decent. Ideal for him to mess around with and tough enough not to break.
Hopefully gives you some comfort that your pain was worth it - was chuckling throughout :) Merry Christmas to you both, to Jaron, and to all the petapals at Petapixel
Do an entire episisode in Australia, make sure you use Auzzie Chris for the entire shoot. Need more! Or can you do a collab with Linus Tech Tips and review their camera gear, then we can have Auzzie Chris talking to Tim Riley Cook.
So no one is going to mention the audacity of this video, the product placement of the Bluey camera and the pink camera clearly shilling these two cameras for the money paid by the manufacturers. 😂 this was entertaining and top notch! Happy holidays PP crew!
as a vietnamese bogang aussie born in sydney cabramatta alongside my 5t trauma - I have to say that your aussie accnet @4:00mins was bloody fair dinkum mate
Phew, when you started the pink cam footage for a moment I was afraid some supernatural entity would appear in the background or you'd get lost in the woods or some catacombs soon. Definitely has... "style".
I was ready for this camera until you mentioned the dual SD card issue. Dude, that was really disappointing, I hope they solve this problem with the mark 2.
You know, I literally just said “Sound matters more than video, most folks won’t mind lower quality video”, then I saw the image from the “Pink Camera”. That is in fact, not what I meant. 😂😅
Thank you for imposing this misery upon yourself so we don’t have to. I gave my kid the original om5 because I think of him as a person 😂 Edit: Another way of opening that camera without the screwdriver is by banging it against the wall for the 300th time you are asked to change the batteries.
I appreciate that even with these obviously tongue in cheek reviews that Chris and Jordan find something nice to say. "Yes it's garbage, but you can play games!" It's legitimately good advice for parents to give kids a used point and shoot than getting officially licensed trash cameras. My 5 year old has been using an old Canon powershot for 2 years. Pictures aren't bad in good conditions. And she loves having her own camera and showing off her pictures.
The Royal Alberta Museum!! Hope you enjoyed your trip up to Edmonton. Such a fan of yours and the fact that you’re Albertan too is the cherry on top (even if you live in the wrong city😂)
3:53 Honestly... after the blink-and-you'll-miss-it Aussie accent that Chris put on in the last podcast, hearing it again is a fair shake of the sauce bottle!
I bought something similar to my daughter when she was 3yo. We all had fun. The biggest problem was battery life. The battery lasts just 5-10min. Otherwise, it was a nice nostalgic Nokia feeling…
Very fun video, despite your suffering XD Would be great to have one day the opposite review of cool kids' camera options, to bring my nieces into photography ! Cheers from Switzerland, with love : )
No EVF and no dual card slots are real deal breakers.
I can live with no EVF, but no IBIS?
LOL
No internal raw recording either.
No full sized HDMI?? I'm out
Not even a Flash hot shoe!!!
The Pink camera is what all of the amateur UFO footages are recorded on
🤣🤣🤣
Nessie too😄
And Bigfoot.
The pink camera doesn’t have the right settings to make it look good
“Not good for weddings or event photography“ 😂😂😂
Chris‘ Australian accent is amazing.
It's always great when Aussie Chris comes up from down under.
We need an entire camera review by Auzzie Chris.
Maybe you need to fly down under to make it more authentic
"That's not a camora. THIS is a camora!"
I was truly impressed by his Aussie accent.
G'day and welcome back ta Pita Pixel
For me, this really reiterated the importance of good audio; With professional sound quality, I kinda liked the aesthetic of the two cameras' video!
Funny how in video, the most important thing is... the audio 🙃
I dont remember who said it but it was an important director 'your video can be crap but if your audio is bad people will leave the theather'
As an Australian, I was so surprised how well Chris did the accent 😆
Thank you!
As a fellow Aussie, it was deffo cringe when he dipped into Kiwi territory 😂
@@c_woelflI’ve been told I weave back and forth between the two.
I think we can all admit, however bad the S9’s rolling shutter is, it is godly in comparison to that pink menace.
I mean it's just 20ms in 4K on S9, which is more than manageable :)
Yooo 😂😂😂😂
Even Leica Q3…
It’s a really good case study for explaining what rolling shutter is
The Bluey camera had ok still quality for 2MP and massively better at video than the Jordan's pink camera.
Honestly I was very surprised by how watchable the Bluey video quality was
The video on the Bluey camera isn't half bad!!😂
It's honestly better than both the pink cam's video and, somehow, the Bluey camera's photos (I suppose due to a lack of awful NR or something?)
You're right, it's less than half bad!
I laughed so hard @ 1:00, thanks for bringing the old RUclips back!
reminds me of the old videos from Kai Wong with pro photographers and shit cameras
Now I’m certain that Chris is secretly 100% Australian
“The need to access the battery compartment with a screw driver isn’t ideal for professional wedding photography” - Noted. I was really on the fence before you mentioned that.
The bluey camera's phone transfer app works just as good as all competitors though
Zing gottem

Oooh! you just hit a memory nerve in my old brain...did a stint of poetography back in the day. Don't tell anyone!
That shot of Jordan holding audio and looking at the LCD of the pink camera 😂😂😂

What do you mean i totally need 200mp on a sensor that is smaller than my pinky's nail! Higher number = more better, everyone knows that!

I like the Bluey photos - i like that you point it at a scene in the real world and the Bluey serves up a cartoon. That's cool.
Missed opportunity to actually test the waterproof capabilities in the water behind him at the end of the video.
The review I’ve been waiting for!
How was the Bluey video quality superior to the dedicated camcorder?
Obviously Chris is a master videographer and Jordan is a novice. Maybe 😂
This is the best gift that Jaron could have given us viewers
All the pics, from a composition / lighting / storytelling standpoint, were great! Shows how good a photographer Chris is. Merry Christmas and God bless!
Those photos in the museum sold me on it. I'm buying it lmao
Anyone remember the DigitalRev Pro photographer challenge with cheap cameras? That's what this reminds me of.
6:12 Bluey has Open Gate aspect ratio! 😮
The most passive aggressive sarcasm review so far. 10/10
Proves the rule even more that bad video can work, but you can't have bad audio or it becomes unwatchable.
I unironically really enjoy the footage from this. It's very retro digicam
Can't believe I saw how awful the photo posted was on Instagram, and I still intentionally came to watch the video😂 lol you guys make any camera review fun to watch
The hard shift to the pink camera footage at the beginning made me laugh so hard.
Wow, the Bluey has so much better video quality than the pink handycam.
That was actually really fun to watch. Great Aussie accent Chris. I bought my son a waterproof no name brand point and shoot off Temu and it is actually pretty decent. Ideal for him to mess around with and tough enough not to break.
holy shit I was not expecting that Australian accent even after seeing the comments. Genuinely A+ effort lmao
Hopefully gives you some comfort that your pain was worth it - was chuckling throughout :)
Merry Christmas to you both, to Jaron, and to all the petapals at Petapixel
If you're looking for a vintage vibe, these cameras deliver in spades. 10/10!
I want Chris to do every review in Australian from now on
At least that Bluey camera is recording an open gate video.
Do an entire episisode in Australia, make sure you use Auzzie Chris for the entire shoot.
Need more!
Or can you do a collab with Linus Tech Tips and review their camera gear, then we can have Auzzie Chris talking to Tim Riley Cook.
That accent will come in handy the next time someone gives Chris a 35mm lens and he goes full Mad Max
Fantastic camera! rushing off to the stores to get a Bluey camera now as a second body to my Z8.
wow that bluey camera is just the thing i've been looking for
Jaron writing in all caps like my dad is just diabolical
So no one is going to mention the audacity of this video, the product placement of the Bluey camera and the pink camera clearly shilling these two cameras for the money paid by the manufacturers.

Somehow it is very better than my first digital camera using floppy disk
as a vietnamese bogang aussie born in sydney cabramatta alongside my 5t trauma - I have to say that your aussie accnet @4:00mins was bloody fair dinkum mate

I was ready for this camera until you mentioned the dual SD card issue. Dude, that was really disappointing, I hope they solve this problem with the mark 2.
Great review as always! You guys are fun to watch. Glad you get to keep your jobs.
I'm sure the Chinese factory that spawns these things has the license to use the Bluey IP.
Totally. I know a guy who knows a guy...
I was laughing the entire time but 10:49 really brought it home.
This is great!! I remember this from the old days of Digital Rev
I would never ever expect that you are going to review kids toys, but it was a great idea 😂 happy Christmas everyone 🥳
@1:56 Pity you weren't able to be there about six months ago, the balconies were still there on that building...
You know, I literally just said “Sound matters more than video, most folks won’t mind lower quality video”, then I saw the image from the “Pink Camera”. That is in fact, not what I meant. 😂😅

The rolling shutter has rolling shutter...it's incredible...
I am watching this drunk and i legit got nausia from the rolling shutter in the video footage

3:50 YES Chris with the borderline-offensive accents is back baby
Totally buying that pink camera for my Bigfoot expedition. 😂
Finally you review a real camera!
Can we talk about how great the Bluey shots look??
The Royal Alberta Museum!! Hope you enjoyed your trip up to Edmonton. Such a fan of yours and the fact that you’re Albertan too is the cherry on top (even if you live in the wrong city😂)
ngl, now I want a bluey camera smallrig or something
Tony ( the Gray silver fox ) Northrup wouldn't give this camera a second glance .
To be fair, they do review the instax cameras quite a bit
Getting my 7 and 10 yo cousins who's home for Christmas to watch a petapixel camera review with me, wasnt in my bucket sho-(heh) list.
Marty would be proud Chris!
At least the rolling shutter isn’t too bad. Siri autocorrected shutter to sh!tter there. How ironic.
The key take away from this video is that even if you have poor video its not so bad if you have good audio.
Bloody producer challenge from DigitalRev 😅
The second I saw the video sample I cackled
I want these for my next (and first) found-footage horror film.
That Australian accent woke something in me
I love the amount of beeps in the video. 😂
Anxiety inducing UI? Exactly what you want for your child 😅
Merry Christmas!
3:53 Honestly... after the blink-and-you'll-miss-it Aussie accent that Chris put on in the last podcast, hearing it again is a fair shake of the sauce bottle!
Australian Chris is not real, He can't hurt you...
Gotta say the Pink Camera video is a huge vibe, even if it hurts my eyes
I hope you brought some butter for all those potatoes you had in this episode
like the pink one, the blue one looks it has a lot post processing going on
Imagine having these cameras back in 2000... you'll be kings :D
Does the Bluey camera have low light flicker in shadows like the Nikon Z6iii? Debating which one to get...
Does it have pre-burst?
The Bluey camera is actually my main camera, why would I take my R8 or ZV1 out for photography when I have that absolutely beast 💪
I hope there was a regulation preventing people from making these e-wastes. There are tons of e-waste on Amazon and I really feel bad about it.
Since when is the picture quality this amazing?
I laughed hard on this video. Thank you. Have a very nice christmas to you all. 🙏
I bought something similar to my daughter when she was 3yo. We all had fun. The biggest problem was battery life. The battery lasts just 5-10min. Otherwise, it was a nice nostalgic Nokia feeling…
Does the pink camera shoot 10-bit LOG internal?
So... no phase detect?
Did Jordan change something with the editing pipeline? 🤔
Nice Road Warrior reference!
Yes!!!!
Very fun video, despite your suffering XD Would be great to have one day the opposite review of cool kids' camera options, to bring my nieces into photography ! Cheers from Switzerland, with love : )
This was a great laugh. Glad y’all are still making content ❤
Why was the Bluey’s video kind of alright?? Sure grainy but the detail was actually there
