The sculptures, sets and costumes were impeccably done. The actors had all the right movements. The only thing off was the surgical masks... they could have at least made them look like part of the costumes.
It was interesting because being in the parks all day long seeing everyone wearing masks I didn’t think much of that.
Kind of how they try to make the masks on other character's match to their attire? Cause I could see and understand that or try to make it a bit more blended in. It's like when I was going for a full "Jack Skellington" look at my work, I was gonna wear a white mask that I painted with a face on it to better match the character. I sadly couldn't find it in time so I went without, but it's the same idea and I totally get it. Maybe for Xmas they'll step it up some.
I think opening this house was a really last-minute decision and they didn't have time for unique masks.
Heard it’s coming back this year, so that would probably make the mask thing a lot better.
I wanna see this in person so bad!!! Was not expecting the dinner scene to be on the ceiling, really cool concept.

@Christian Gaines As I understand it, they opened this house at the last minute to fulfill a contractual obligation that would allow them to do the house again next year.

So fortunate to have been able to secure a virtual line spot for this earlier today; totally worth the early start and waiting at the gate
It was a totally luck of the draw. I refreshed the app at 7:52am and that was when they made it live and I was able to get a pass. Reminded me of the Rise of the Resistance virtual pass sweepstakes.
I was able to go earlier this morning to but not that early I went at 7:30 but couldn’t get in like till about 12:35
The earlier time slots got taken so quickly, but we were able to get a reservation at 12:00. The house was so good and I wish I could’ve done it more times so that I could take in all the sets.
@@RelaxingReality Yeah, I got 1 when I went to Disney. We were in the backup groups, I just had to beg my mom still considering I’m to young to have a car or don’t have a car, but I mean it was worth it.
I was actually able to snag a reservation around noon while I was waiting at the Lexus dealership down the street from Universal yesterday, so I dropped by the park after I was done there. Apparently the area that the app considers to be on property extends all the way out to there.
I wish they put sandy the sand worm in the house but it’s still fun tho!

The scariest thing about this maze is how people were bottle necking when they were supposed to be distancing.
That said, this is a lot like Ghostbusters in which it is funny and charming rather than scary. I really like how they put the dinner scene on the ceiling - that was a really cool twist.
They did a great job keeping people at distance. I have to say it allowed you to actually see the scenes instead of being rushed through in normal times.
@@RelaxingReality Fair enough. Maybe I'm just paranoid and bad at judging six feet apart. It still looked really cool and I'm glad they were able to do something for HHN.
I think they will use this experience to make it better for next year 🙂

WOW! This haunted house looks SO FUN! Great job to the production team and the actors! They completely captured the story and everything looks amazing!
The detail was amazing throughout the entire house-totally felt like you were going through scenes from the movie!

I have been watching Beetlejuice since I was like 7 and have never been scared. I thought it was hilarious. I also loved watching the graveyard revue since 1990.

i cannot wait to see all three houses with the 360 VR for all of the houses!! loved the houses this year. Did Beetlejuice 2 times, Tooth Fairy 67, and Brides 107. I loved the balance the three houses created. One for the scares, one for the story, and one for the IP based fans.

From what I've heard, Universal had to open the house for 2 days as part of a contractual obligation to Warner Bros, so that they can have the rights for 2021.
I LOVE this cuz the movie used soo many pratical effects and since this is a live walk through they have to do the same, so everything just looks exactly like like it did in the movie thats just sooo cool to me

This is Amazing. It's kind of crazy to think Michael Keaton played both Batman and Beetlejuice and both of them are so Iconic even all these years later.
They need to do this again! And someone remind me next time!!! Beetlejuice is my favorite and I legit cried realizing it's a one day only and my family missed it.

Even if they weren’t wearing masks so you can see their mouths they would still be pre recorded that’s how most of the houses work

They have the character actually walking around and interacting with Guests during normal park hours. Pre-COVID of course

I cringed a bit inside when the actor said boo, even though I know that’s what they actually say. Years of scare acting and training have hammered into me that you never say that! 😂😂😂
Overall it was a fun, nostalgic haunt. I wouldn’t really call it scary so much as I’d call it fun, but it still works! Beetlejuice is a fan favorite all around and I think they could easily bring this back for HHN and it would do great.
Ya know...I usually hate scare actors in haunted attractions because I feel like they're distracting from the set design, props, and the more interesting things...but having them behind glass really works. Instead of them being all in your face and annoying, they are part of the attraction just like the props and animatronics and whatnot. I honestly hope they keep the concept
One of the things I really enjoyed was the social distancing between groups. It actually allowed you to see everything without feeling rushed through.

We was gonna do hhn this year for the 1st time but then they cancelled but then of course the day we leave they have 2 houses open for it and now this. We got to do the tribute store though ig. It's just i was rlly looking forward to getting to do the beetlejuice house.

The audio leaves something !be desired. Very surprising for relaxing reality which has been known for awesome audio.
Just wait until the spatial 360 audio is kicked in when I edit together using the 360 file on my computer - this was edited together on a smartphone, which uses raw audio and that’s not the best 🙂.

They are doing the same with Japan's Nitendo Land, holding a test opening and then enhancing the visitor experience throughout the attraction. I think it lacked a little more scares and elements, but otherwise it was nice. It might be possible to match it a little with the musical that was on Broadway, more colorful and interesting. The optical illusions will help scare the visitor with the impression that they are trapped inside a reality.
In the amusement park scene, when the ghost plays at ringing the bell, I think they could use a rope to give the impression that BJ threw a person up.
What disappoints me is that they forgot to show the giant worm, the dinner scene, and the end of the film. I know that the intention is to scare but it is necessary to have referential elements. My suggestion is that they try to put these scenes and at the end create a fun scare, as if giving the impression that he would come back.

@@RelaxingReality It's just that they could do something similar to Stranger Things and Ghostbusters. Having various effects, puppets but keeping the plot.

its fun to see what they did but lets be real beetle joice us too family friendly to be a scare attraction.
Exactly why it's great! I hate getting spooked because I tend to lash out physically at whatever does it, so I'm limited to family friendly events. I get asked to go to HHN every year, and I have to say no because I present a danger to the scare actors since they get so close to guests. If more of Universal's stuff was like this or at least distanced like this, I could risk it!
