    I always wondered, why was Cassie in a night gown? Was she sleeping in the SGC waiting for them to come back, or did she teleport from her home while in bed? I honestly do not think it would have been too world breaking just to put her in some pants or a casual suit.

    • @blankspace178
      @blankspace178 3 года назад +31

      She said they were in the FAR future, look at the state of the SGC and how it's in a state of long term preservation. She was probably waiting for them in a stasis chamber and awoke solely to see them back home. This is similar to the McKay hologram or the past-Dr.Weir from Stargate Atlantis. They did exactly the same thing.
      If you aren't aware of how time travel in Stargate works, they don't use branch universe theory they use retroactive continuity. This means there is only ever one timeline and the future changes on the slightest of whims, even the act of time travel itself changes things. After these events O'neil has fish in his pond when there wasn't before, meaning even though they corrected the future things still changed. This means that the future Cassandra was in no longer exists, and she knew that would happen which is why she didn't tell them anything.
      Time travel of this nature is paradox free, meaning you can actually go back and kill your grandfather, then travel forward and be in the future where you weren't born. But the original version of you that time travelled still exists as a remnant, so you can actually travel even further back and stop yourself from killing your grandfather, ensuring your birth and a future where you exist. BUT, that future would NOT be identical to your original future. This maintains the integrity of the time stream. There is no paradox because continuity is maintained in both directions.
      Examples from the show:
      SG1 going to the 60s, then the future, then back to the "present"
      SG1 going back to ancient Egypt, altering the future, then the altered SG1 go back again and "fix" things
      SGA1 going to the future by accident, then going back to the "present" with knowledge to prevent that future
      SG-Continuum where Ba'al time travels to the past, literally defeats everyone, then a temporally dislocated SG1 has to time travel further back to stop him. Ensuring a future where all events had already happened from SG1's perspective
      SGDestiny where the crew have to loop back in time several times to collect venom from a deadly creature to cure a disease on the ship
      SGDestiny where the crew duplicates go back in time and establish a civilization that evolves concurrently with Earth
      SGDestiny where the ship itself loops back in time and the crew collect spare parts from it, 2 duplicate characters die, and Dr. Rush explicitly states the overriding nature of time travel from the current loop that they're in being the real timeline
      Time travel of this nature means that whatever future you end up in becomes literally set in stone. If you screw up time travel you don't get a second chance. You can never return to a future that is 100% the same as the one you left.

      1969 was beutifully written and acted, but i think that it could have been a two part story, i mean, how they got back, it was a little to easy for me. The telescope that anybody coud just walk in and use, was it open to the public 24/7, did nobody else ever use it? The Stargate, wasnt it amazing good fortune, that it was left unguarded? It would appear that only the present Stargate is based in a secure facility and fully guarded at all times. As for Cassandra, blink and you woud have missed her, for me, just another example of missed opportunities, instead of expanding and developing the characters of Janet Fraiser and Cassandra, they kill Janet off, and just use the character of Cassandra when it suits them.

    Project Seagate is the real stargate project so in short the stargate is real and is most likely how light ufos are able to come and go by creating even more enhance stargate that the real Seagate are base on; it most likely from the Atlantis similar to concepts show in show

    It looks like they discontinued the Stargate program with the looks of all those blankets. Or maybe they are covering up some advance tech they don't want their visitors to see. Though, it is wield that the stargate is still in the same location. Maybe the sheets are covering up a holographic projector to prevent them from seeing where the stargate is now.
    Also, it seems they solved that thing where the thing comes out of the stargate when it's connecting the wormhole. And portable dialers. I'm sure that would come in handy on missions.

      I already typed a big reply to someone else on this video the other day, my point being MAYBE this is the Aschen ruled future, they don't explore through the stargate and MAYBE Cassandra has had help from the Nox to save as many people as possible, MAYBE worked her way up like Sam did to get control of the gate/access to the gate and is sending them to the past so that they can eventually send a note back from her timeline and save the Earth from Aschen control in the timeline we follow in the later seasons.

      It's a future where the Stargate isn't even used anymore. The SGC is a museum and everything is in storage. The wormhole drive has been perfected and people go anywhere in the galaxy at any time.

    • @tjwparso
      @tjwparso  3 года назад +4

      @@RSanchez111 Surely at this point it would be the Aschen future, the humans on Earth would be dying off, depends what kind of time travel you follow...
      i like to think she means it's just beginning as to say, make the most of it, she's encouraging them not to waste their youth because she is from the timeline that they all died trying to reset, maybe she was smart enough to figure it out and knew why they sent the note back in time, but she remains in this timeline living under the Aschen, knowing that she had to send them back so that they could eventually create a new timeline where the humans of Earth survive... I get the feeling she has grown old knowing she has to help them make another timeline or even that she might whisper out of existence when they go back, again it depends on how much you think about time travel and which version you like to believe in... to me, like you said the stargate isn't used anymore because the Aschen are not explorers, perhaps they have put it aside to study other technology (like Atlantis' wormhole drive if they same stuff happened in that timeline)... I like to think Cassandra worked her way into a position where they wouldn't notice the gate being used and waited for them knowing they would one day die to make a better timeline... maybe she got the tech to open the stargate from the Nox but they told her that to save both timelines that she had to play her part and not tell them, so she lies to get them back through knowing that they will one day die sending a note through to the past dividing the timeline, allowing the people left in her timeline to carry on and a new timeline to eventually take its place in the show... time travel is confusing and stargate uses it many ways so I prefer to put the burden on the Nox and think that they knew best on how to save as many lives as possible. Maybe she wanted to tell them and the Nox said that it would all work out if she just them through, knowing about the different timelines and the changes that have/will occur.
