Coding is very simple and risk-less process if you know the basics. Via coding you can activate hidden functions of your BMW and customise it according to your needs. There are huge variety of different solutions for doing coding procedure. But the most professional approach is doing that via E-Sys. In current video I'm showing in a great level of detail what would you need to begin with the coding, how to establish the connection right and how to perform basic codings of your vehicle.
Part 1 is only the beginning of our journey. Because it's impossible to include all the knowledge in a single video.

This is brilliant, Thanks for the detail, Because of your video I was able to easily code my HU-NBT head unit successfully, I have a cheat sheet with f15 codes if you want to add it to your website although I'm sure you already have them. The only thing I am struggling with is that I was able to code usb video with codex on my front unit but not be able to get it right on my rear entertainment system. Not sure if you would be able to point me in the right direction. or if it's even possible. Keep up the good work and thanks for making these videos, I feel comfortable doing the coding myself purely because of it.

One think I need to check though - you said I need a database file, psdzdata. What do I do with this? Does it need to be linked or installed to E-Sys, and how do you do this?

I want to start retrofitting some things on my F30, I heard that I don't need a launcher for E-SYS for that, because it is FA coding and the launcher is needed for FDL coding. Is this true?
You are absolutely right.
Launcher is needed for FDL coding only.

Thank you! This is a really detailed and informative video. What would you suggest to stop folders from being trimmed? After clicking edit NDC all folders where functions are shown are displayed as "." (Just a dot).

Hi Vladimir, Thanks a lot for your very interesting and clear videos. In the E-Sys version I use (3.30.1 + E-Sys Launcher PRO 2.8.1), I need to activate FA. Is it normal ? What E-Sys version should I use to be up to date ?
Yes it’s normal for esys 3.30
Newer versions activate FA automatically

Hi, very informative video, looking to start using esys for my self. Can i ask you what model laptop you using? looks very handy . mine is to big and to slow, so looking to upgrade.
I’m using ASUS ZEN book
There are no special requirements. Minimum what I can recommend is 1TB SSD
All other parameters are not so important for bmw coding (win10 is preferred)

I recommend following esys versions:
3.30
3.35
3.40

Yes you can install as many esys version on one pc as you want.

Enet cable is enough for beginning. You can find that on eBay or Amazon. All enet cables are the same. Will work on F and G series.
Finding launcher is a bit more tricky. I might make a video on that topic which launcher can be purchased where etc.

On your car just changing the screen is not enough. While headunit exchange is needed.

If in ISTA ECU is RED it means it’s not responding and that’s why it’s impossible to update that

Great video Vladimir! Do you have a cheat sheet for the F21 LCI? Specifically for coding cruise control?
Cheatsheet will not help in your case. If cruise control is not present from the factory then some hardware modifications are needed (ecu replacement) and only then coding via FA
@@BimDoc I have fitted the switch module on my MFSW already. I’ve been told I need to add 544 to the FA, then code FEM, ICM & KOMBI but I haven’t been told what to code in those ECU’s?
Firstly; is the above correct? And is it a case of adding 544 into the FA, then simply selecting ‘Code’ on each of those ECU’s?

I would like to install the original front and side view cameras on my BMW F06 640i Gran Coupe. Coding is required after installation, but if VO coding is done, can each camera be used independently?
In order to use the around view camera, is it possible to use it without performing VO coding separately in addition to the coding associated with installation?
Any other coding required?
Yes you can FDL code every single parameter if you know those.
But VO coding is faster (if you have retrofits done, then it might be an issue)
Excellent video - - what are the minimum specs for the PC, windows version and how do you set up the USB C port to talk to the ethernet adapter? Can you show how to remove the BMW gong sound when the vehicle is put into reverse....in fact, remove the gong sound from everything !
There are actually no special requirements.
SSD should be big enough to fit databases (full data can weight around 300GB)

90% of that is doable via coding.
But some parameters are written in EEPROM and require programmer to change those

Exchange of the ECU will be the same on F and G series.
But activation of the navigation function itself in headunit will be different and depend of the heaunit type
