  • Met up with Jon from ‪@DirtRoadTherapy‬ in VA for some camping and trails. After a long road trip to VA, I set up camp and waited (and waited) for Jon. He eventually made it, but not without some XJ trouble. We hit Peters Mill Run the next day with Rick ‪@jeepdoctv‬ and Mark ‪@MalarkeyTaylor‬ so I could grab another badge.
    Peters Mill Run is an easy trail with a decent amount of ATV & OHV traffic on it. It costs $5 for a day pass that you can pick up at most gas stations in the area. We ran it from the North end (dirt single track) to South end (rocky hills).

      It’s only better because of the extra camera man who didn’t have his XJ. Thanks for the shots 😉

    Easy, fun trail. I agree could definitely use more pull off spots, or maybe designate one way direction/traffic on certain days.

    Great video. Always wanted to go 4wheeling, so I bought a 2011 4runner SR5. It has all terrain tires, but they are standard load tires. Will I be ok on this trail as a newbie with the standar load/p rated tires?

    • @DarksideOffRoad
      @DarksideOffRoad  2 года назад

      I'm sure you could. This is a beginner trail. We saw a handful of stock 4Runners on the trail while we were out.

    I've been thrashing TJ's for almost 20yrs now and I've never heard of this "badge of honor trail" stuff before. How long has this been a thing? Was it invented by Fiat to sell JKs and JLs to weekend warriors or does Jeep send you an actual badge of honor? I'd like to know more because I'm dumb and I'm sure I'm owed a few participation awards. Love your channel BTW, currently binging all your vids. As an east coaster myself you have documented a sweet selection of what our area has to offer and to that I genuinely say thank you. PS it doesn't look good when you complain about burnt aluminum and fused sand in a fire pit when you intentionally make all the trail ruts deeper like a lil kid stomping through a muddy puddle. Don't forget to tread lightly🤷

    • @DarksideOffRoad

      Not sure how long badges have been around, but they certainly add a communal aspect to the “hobby” and provide some really great destinations 👌

    Good effort. Not gonna make epic content at Peter’s. My dads driveway is harder than that run. Subaru wagons get down that trail.
