IMPORTANT TO NOTE!!!!! At 5:24 there should be a collar on the countershaft!!! Don't forget to re-install that before that case half goes on!!! I learned the hard way!
I was a little surprised to see that husky torque wrench doing work , but hey if it's accurate it's all the same. Good job on the video and keeping it so clean on the rebuild , I know how hard it is to pull that off.
5:18 What kinda of sealant are you using? Never seen that type before, thought it always was premade gasket, soon rebuilding my ktm exc 400 2002 thanks to this videos :)!!
I believed we used the Permatex Moto Seal 1-Ultimate Gasket Maker. You can check it out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/permatex-moto-seal-1-ultimate-gasket-maker-p The first link in the description will also take you to a page with all the parts and tools used in this video. Thanks for watching!
Hello , I have 2022 450 EXC-F and when I change the engine oil I found some little rubber parts and 2 of them are bigger like big O-ring, but I don"t now where is from. I think maybe is from clutch cover but the bike is not leaking. Can you help me with this problem?
Hi, your bike seems too new to have rubber chunks coming out in the oil. Has anything been recently worked on where an O-ring could have been nicked on installation? The clutch basked has some rubber dampers, I doubt they are bad, but it's worth checking. How many hours are on the bike? -Charles
GEARWRENCH 1/4" Drive Micrometer Torque Wrench 30-200 in/lbs. - 85060 is a good option from amazon OR Precision Instruments (PREM1R200HX) 1/4" Drive, Micrometer Click Torque Wrench 30-200 lb.in. Get a QUALITY one - as you want precision as a lot of damage can be done from one that malfunctions.
Yeah, that's going to be the same as 89 inch pounds. I just have to say what's listed in the manual. We actually have a few options, here is what I like: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/park-tool-usa-ratcheting-torque-wrench-p -Charles
Plastic oil pump gears just like beta except beta makes steel ones you can buy, does ktm? I like the rfs engine design a little better, that's just me.
Hey. I have a 2003 525 that was my dad's. I wanted to completely restore the bike but I'm hesitant to open up the RFS engine. I've torn apart 100 two strokes but only four stroke I've ever took apart was an 80 CB 750
I've spilled my coffee after watching this part 26:00 lol.
😂 They've got some gnarly magnets on there. -Charles

Didn't put the spring in the selector fork sliding shafts

Or just get a metric one, and do 10 Nm. Much easier, these are metric bikes😉

I think we’re both wondering where that gasket went.
@@SteezedModz the two main casing just get silicone rtv no actual gasket
i dont understand what do you mean about the circlip and the sharp edge…
If you look really closely, you should see that one side is rounded while the other side has sharper corners.
Why did you tear this engine down?
This engine was torn down so a 6th gear transmission kit could be installed.
@@rmatvmc I suspected that. But you showed a 5-gear set, so I wasn't certain.
@@rmatvmcI don’t understand? All of the bikes in the video description I thought came with sixth gear? I have a 500 I have 6 gears?
