- Vlog #2: Capturing Foxes and Badgers in the Wild
Taking on the challenge of photographing foxes and badgers in a new area was an exciting project. These elusive animals are difficult to capture, especially in unfamiliar territory. I set up in a large rural field, but while the badger remained hidden during the day, I managed to catch it on my trail camera at night.
The fox, however, was a bit luckier. After some time and patience, I finally spotted it. This experience shows just how unpredictable wildlife photography can be-sometimes it takes ages to capture the subject you’re after.
Unfortunately, when I filmed the fox, I noticed it had some health issues. Its eyes appeared inflamed, which looked like conjunctivitis. I decided to leave out a bit of dog food for it, but only in moderation. I want to support its health without making it dependent on human feeding, as it’s important that it relies on its own skills.
Throughout this project, I had to reposition the trail camera multiple times to get the best angles and shots. Trial and error is just part of the process in capturing wildlife properly.
