Props to Epic for making such an excellent game engine available to people for not absurd amounts of money. It would be nice to see other publishers license their stuff the way UE and Unity are.. I know it will never happen but, RAGE and IW engine could make some pretty incredible games outside of GTA and COD.

Yeah, the concept looks cool, and I hope it catches on for other game devs. This War of Mine is another game that takes this perspective, but it has lots of potential to be explored, even if playing as one of the warring factions is usually more popular.
If you want this feeling now then try Kenshi. It's just as much a sandbox as many others, you are also completely unimportant the soundtrack is godlike.
I saw a review video of one of the testers, it looks so good because its a team comprised almost entirely out of artists. However there was a lot of jank in the systems with enemies teleporting/ spinning out of the world, that sort of thing (you could see it a bit with the robot punching the tank and it just flying off 09:44), just an entirely different approach to game development. As it is really a work of art with a lot of love put into it I don't expect it to be released before it is more finished, unlike some AAA games nowadays, but there will probably be a bunch of updates after launch to fix stuff players find. Could also be an open Beta launch with the same goal and result. Just a lot more work to be done before it is in an actually playable state.

A forever war that has gone on for so long that nobody remembers why they’re even fighting anymore. Just war for the sake of war. With the introduction of Ai This future is chillingly accurate I’m afraid.
You improve the animation quality by just a few percentiles, smoother movement and other changes, and you could have one of the better games in a while, I can’t wait to see what comes next in the forever winter
They really need to fix the sliding walk/feet. It sticks out and gives me hesitation in getting my hopes up. Complete removal of immersion as it looks like the character isn't gripped to the world / the world and character are two different planes where they appear together but don't exist or interact together

If they haven't done something that simple before providing a presentation, alpha or not, that's a flag that their priorities seem to be in feeding eyes. I already love the lore ive seen so far and the tone and feel are just up my ally and you can really tell already that the world these guys are shaping is not something that was spawned by some executives trying to cash in on what they think sells. Given how this game's AI supposedly works, I wonder if by gaining rep' and working almost exclusively with one faction you can ally with them and thus be ignored or even protected by their units. I'd love to ally myself with the bioweapon/cyborg AI faction, wander the field scavenging alongside the massive humanoid _'recovery units'._

@@KronStaro No it isn't. This is literally a completely different aesthetic. The Mecha we've seen so far aren't anywhere near that advanced, that large, or that sleek. There's far more greebling in the art direction here, and it's far more grounded. Seeing a giant robot doesn't make it armored core anymore than it does Gundam. People really need to expand their knowledge base beyond what is currently popular before making comparisons that don't actually make sense.

Is it a straight coop pve game, or u will be able to confront other scavs for the loot?
Considering it's described as PvEvE, I think it's more of a co-op shooter.

They’re going back to the PS3 360 era with the grungy tones.
There are a couple things I hope they fix, but other than that, I can say that I will be buying instantly if it launches on consoles.
