  • I headed out to meet Boon for a typical Thursday In Bangkok. We started at the Emsphere Mall at the new Butter Bear Bakery. Then we heard a boy band upstairs. Next we walked across the street to O' Shea's Pub on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1. I then walked over for a street tour on Soi 24.
Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

The least I could do. She is working and taking the train 10 stops. I can wait in line a few minutes.

Discovered your channel a couple of days and loving the content! Thoughts on living on soi 24? Have a viewing scheduled next week for a really nice place at the Siri Residence (5:15) actually! I lived in Bearing for a couple of years and got bored of it, so now looking for a place after a summer break in Europe, but wondering if moving to Phrom Pong would be too much for me and I should stick to something more chill like Soi 61 (a friend lives there and I love that soi) in Ekkamai. Not into the soapy massage scene at all and don't really drink much, more of a (wannabe) health nut, so maybe Ekkamai would be more chill for me :D I drive too, and traffic there always seems crazy too?

Hey thanks for watching. Yes Phrom Phong and Soi 24 can be a bit busy with traffic. Of course, so can't Soi 61. Nothing below On Nut is going to without traffic. I'm not into the massage or red-light scenes. I have a nice girlfriend. Still, I enjoy walking everywhere. I'm on Soi 26. I can easily walk to Terminal 21 or a thousand places to eat or drink. I really love Phrom Phong. But, like Soi 24 they use my Soi to connect from Rama 4. As far as health, it's nice to have the park near the Emporium. You're also a short walk to Benjakitti.

I'm starting my Thai adventure at the Hyatt Place in less than a week!

Burning 100,000 Hyatt points in November to stay at that Hyatt Place for 20 days. Or, just one Chase Ink credit card lol. Yep, still Category 1, only 5,000 points per night. Stayed last year at the Hyatt Regency nearby but that one went one category up, to Category 3. I'll take the Hyatt Place at 5k points per night vs 12k points per night at the HR.
And yea, never figured out all the hype about this Butter Bear thingie.

That sounds great. I think it's even lower in the low season. My buddy got 3500 in June. I love those miles. I've been told the bear is a big Tik Tok star.

I know you probably won’t know the answer to this but any idea which donut the ladies like the best? Do you remember what Boon bought? Next time I’m in town, I thought I’d pick up some for my favorite massage lady. 😊

No idea. Boon doesn't like donuts. I think she got her sister some kind of cup cakes.

Hyatt Place was a great little hotel 5-6 years ago but has become overly expensive and level of service has deteriorated. Much better hotel values in the area.

Everyone I've talked to still loves the place. It's the perfect place to stay for 5000 points a night. I just had the buffet with a friend about 9 months ago. I still seemed as nice as the last time I stayed in 2019. But, I understand if you like another hotel. What do you prefer in that same price range? Off season, a friend just paid 70 bucks a night with breakfast. During busy times, every nice hotel will be more. The Grand Hyatt might be 250 in high season. I've stayed at them both. For 5000 a night, often 3500 points a night low season, the Hyatt Place is amazing value. Plus, it's less than 9 years old.

The Hilton is the first hotel I stayed at in Thailand. Pretty nice. Is there anything you might need from 🇺🇸? Coming end of October. 2 weeks in Hua Hin and then Bangkok for 5 days.

Another good one JOE,,,, Butter Bear and Boy Rap Dance bands,, i must be getting old, Its not exactly Eric Clapton and Cream live. Butter Bear is making bucket loads of money. These things fade away over time and old shops like Krispy Kreme keep going. Apparently the first Krispy Kreme outside America was set up in Australia and while some outlets closed a few still do real good buisness..
