If he had, at least his druid deck would of had a win condition. He had no real threats outside the legendary cards added. He couldn't even win fatigue because of all his draw cards. Then again I guess he couldn't make a video if he had just used a random control warrior deck with MAL just thrown in.
Malchezar wasn't always bad. For a very short period of time it was a nice tech card to include when going up against a lot of mill decks, as the mill decks milled both decks so having 35 cards was a HUGE advantage.
I don't understand the hate for malhezar i always wanted him in my decks, after i've seen reno and the other highlander cards being added to that i were building some good ass decks with that😂, maybe i had absolutely no luck to cards added to my hand/deck but it was always fun to play😂😂

You want your deck to be as small as possible for almost every Card game.
You maninly played it in grindy warrior control decks for the mirror, as it almost always went to fatigue, and they could stave off death long enough that the sub-par quality of the legendary cards was outshone by the value that they provided, especially as at the time most legendaries were more expensive cards

Prince Malchezaar is the only legendary I've ever crafted a golden copy of, a long time ago. It was for a Tavern Brawl where you got to play like 10 copies of the same card and so I just got a full deck of random golden legendaries.
In that last game without the Grumble the Shaman was hoping for the chain gang to proc FIRST and then the Zola to trigger letting him go infinite - but the Zola triggered before the chain gang blocking his potential combo 👌
@@sonarchy5158 thank you for enlightening me. I could've sworn I got alakir off malchezar as rogue back in mean streets, but I suppose that was something else
I disagree with Prince Malchezaar being one of the worst legendaries, at the time he was printed there was very few ways to increase deck size and some control warrior variants would run it to win fatigue wars in the mirror match up. It was a niche card for the time but it was pretty usefull in those matchups.
I'm pretty sure just cutting a card that's meant to counter aggro (or card draw) plus malchezaar and adding 2 generically good lategame minions is better for both aggro and control matchups than running malchezaar. Malchezaar might have been okay if he were a battlecry, the real problem though is that you get those extra legendaries at the start of the game, which means you're getting a ton of dead draws even early in the game, which absolutely cripples you in every matchup that isn't going to fatigue. If he were a battlecry then at least you could just choose to not play him in the situations he's bad and then he's just 1 dead card in your hand, which isn't great but not the end of the world.. but because you get it at the start of the game, you can have up to 6 dead draws in a lot of matchups, which can pretty much outright lose the game for you single handedly.
Ok Im kinda confused here can someone from the stream lend me a hand. How is he rank 10 gold while playing warlock and bronz 10 while playing druid. Did he climb all the way up to gold 10 as the challenge went or did he played meta decks to get to a point where he doesnt play against bronze 10 weirdos?
Random legendaries kinda suck. All cards that replace your hand or deck with random legendaries were terrible. Shuffle 5 random is also super bad if you get terrible legendaries.
Can anyone think of a twist format where this card could be possibly be playable? Seeing the old legendaries they where kinda good, but some like let's say year of the gryphon yeah it sucks
I think you could've had more success running the 45 legendary deck with paladin (renathal + malchezar), it probably has a higher winrate than whatever this was xD

Malchezar is far from the worst legendary, would it be ony because it saw some competitive play, when some legendaries never did (The Voraxx, someone ?).
It's all subjective, in a meta where the best decks are high value control decks that go to fatigue, Malchezaar is playable because with Renathal it extends your deck size to 45 and you can out-value someone not using it. You happen to be queuing into hyper-aggro decks faster than anything in the first 10 years of Hearthstone, so of course it's going to do poorly.
