Stay the course. This sounds like a faith walk. You might want to think about what you want and what are your strongest assets that will add value to a school community. Many times with job searches we want schools to choose us, but more importantly are you a fit for that school community. Also, interviewing over Zoom is tough. I appreciate your openness and vulnerability. The best thing you can do is show up as your authentic self. The teaching position for you is out there and will come.
Im not a teacher but your vids came up as recommended, realy enjoying them. Going to try and work my way through all of them. I follow you on Instagram so know you have a new job, all the best and greetings from England 🤗🤗
Silent viewer here but had to leave a comment- my heart really hurts for you. The job search process, especially in the field of education can be so stressful and debilitating. It is so easy to see the passion and drive you have not only to be a teacher, but in the way that you care for students. While it may be difficult to see in the present, I trust that things have not worked out yet because they were not meant to be. The outcome of this situation will be worth far more than the struggles you've endured on this journey. You are an amazing teacher and I am confident that you will continue to flourish in this field and end up exactly where you are meant to be!
Thank you so so much Nikki. This time in my life has definitely been challenging. BUT like you said, I truly believe everything is happening FOR me. To be in the perfect place
I've been thinking about you. I accepted a contract at a school I subbed at and never wanted to step foot in again. Now, out of fear of no contract, I accepted the job offer. I wish I waited or didn't let fear me drive me. Trying to stay positive and not let anxiety win. At least you're waiting for the right opportunity and looking for what fits you. . 🙏
Thank you for this! I’m in central PA and having such a hard time finding a job too. Im still looking for my first teaching job and I’ve been dying to move out of my parents’ house and I have no idea what I’m gonna do for income. Thank you for always showing realness as a teacher ❤️
Supposedly a teacher shortage and no one can find a job. This is why I didn't leave my school after last year. Idk what's going on, but I know plenty of teachers personally who are struggling in california. I feel like some districts are really waiting out to see what happens with covid or something
I really do enjoy watching your channel. Even though you show great passion in your answers I would suggest that you answer questions showing how your strategies have been effective with students. Be more intentional with your answers to questions and show how your can modify, plan and motivate students. (Give specific answers and plan for what your lessons would look like, modifications for the lesson as well as how you would remediate the students who did not understand the concept! To be an instructional coach you must have many more years of experience in instruction across several grade levels and demographics. This would include several years in early and upper grades as well as successful student data. You've got this! I've taught for 29 years and hated coaching. I wanna be with the kids! Good luck.
I really understand what you are going thru. I am 53 years old with 15 years of office and 15 teaching service. I am near Orlando, florida. I just retired because I could not support the district policies anymore. Public schools are causing students severe harm. I will have to go back to work next year in another state. And hopefully, it will be at a Charter or private school.
I’ve taught for 5 years, but was laid off at the end of the 2020 school year from a district that made me miserable. I went a whole summer without any interviews. My state was cutting school funding due to distance learning. Now here it is over a year later, school starts next week, and I’ve had one interview in 2021. I’ve even been applying for para jobs without luck. 4 years ago I was a “master” teacher and team lead in a different state in large district that I loved, but now… it’s so heartbreaking. Small towns are horrible.
Yes I come from a small town and I have seen that is has held me back in many ways. But at the same time made me stronger. I wish you luck and keep the hope alive
It is crazy that you haven’t been snatched up. Wish you were closer to my area, we have interns and long term subs teaching this year at my school because we can’t find credentialed teachers.
In terms of the teacher resistant question I would say I try to get to the root of what is causing the resistance and talk to the teacher about what parts of the strategy seem doable in their classroom and what feels like a challenge. As a new person coming in, I would try to meet with the teaching teams and find out their goals are and where they think they need the most support in the classroom and in their own development. I feel like you're so close to finding something! It's going to happen!
I know how frustrating and perplexing it is for you. Like you stated, California is facing a teaching shortage, and I hope that school districts will realize that every teacher has a gift and every teacher tries his or her best to grow. Are school districts looking for perfection? That would be impossible. As always, hang in there. If you decide to accept a position as a substitute teacher, take photographs of the classrooms that you work in to gather new ideas. Ask for extra copies of assignments for students to use as resources in the future. I am sending you tons of good thoughts. Take care.
That side eye about the supposed “teacher shortage” was hilarious! My wife and I moved and it took forever to get teaching jobs for both of us. We questioned if we made the right choice and everything. Trust your decisions and a job will come
You’re still a new teacher so I’d be surprised if they offer u a position as a coach. Also do you think that changing schools every year is hurting you in your job search? Best of luck to you!! 💕
I only changed positions from my first year and stayed in the same spot for my second and third year 💕 and honestly if that does matter, then it isnt the right school for me 💕 thank you so much! 💕
Have you thought of having a professional you know do a mock interview with you so they can give you feedback? It’s such a tough field to break into. I do agree that it seems early in your career to be a coach, so I wouldn’t feel bad if you don’t get it. You can aspire to that and you’ll get there and I think you will command more respect when you have had more experiences. Your teaching position is out there. Best of luck.
I’m in the same situation as well. I’m trying to move to be closer to friends and for my mental health, but I’ve been rejected from a couple jobs already. I can stay at my current job, but would much rather find something that works better for me.
I really hope you get this job that you want so bad. I have high hopes for you. I enjoy your videos. I hope to be teaching soon, adults looking to graduate high school. Also, students looking to take their SAT exams.
Have you looked into applying for before and after school program? I was struggling to land a job and managed to land a position as a before and after school educator.
@@HighVibeTeaching It is something to consider because they are always continuously hiring because they have continuous enrollment. We have previous teachers in our program in my city.
Move to SC 😎 You’d have a job before you even got off the plane. Lol All jokes aside, I’m rooting for you! Waiting is the hardest part. What’s meant to be will be, as cliche as that sounds.
I am not really sure but may be they scared a little, like you will tell all ups and down of school at social media .sometimes things went in unexpected manner
Thats understandable! If that is the case, then that isn't the school for me. Im moving more towards working with districts who trust my social media presence and have a more optimistic view on social media and teacher tubers in general. They are out there and I will find it!
Have you thought about teaching introduction to education at a college? You would make a great impact in new teachers who would in turn take your training and strategies to the classroom?

The same thing happened to me, but take it as a learning experience to get to know yourself better and on a deeper level
I love your positivity, everything does happen for a reason! Keep faith and hope❤️🙏🏽

Girl come to Virginia. There is a huge teaching shortage here and so many schools right now that STILL don't have teachers. Best of luck!
Wow! and thank you so much!

no I haven't thought about that! Maybe something to look into!

Same here only I am in 2022.
Keep the vibes high!! It will come!
Good luck!
Thank you so much
Wondering if you have applied to private schools. You may have a better chance of getting hired as there is less competition.
No I have not. May be something I look into in the future.
I teach in private school and I love it. Lots of freedom and collaboration with my team. I agree that it's worth looking into.
Thank you so much!!! I will look into it! :)
Move to SC 😎 You’d have a job before you even got off the plane. Lol

Thanks. I'm still looking for a position.
Keep the hope alive (I know, easier said then done)
Keep the hope alive! 💕 (I know easier said then done)
I live in the Palm Springs area. How far are you willing to commute?
I would say 30-45 min I THINK
🙏🏽

Move to New Mexico you would have a job in no time.
Lol thank you! New Mexico is a place I would love to explore!
Have you thought about teaching introduction to education at a college? You would make a great impact in new teachers who would in turn take your training and strategies to the classroom?
I would LOVE that position!!!!!!!!!! That would truly be a dream
Soooo…. Did you get it?🙏🏻🧐🤩
No I did not :/ But something good is brewing! :)
I think if coaching is where you want to go...you definitely need more experience.
