- Sen. Chris Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, tells "Face the Nation" that claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others that the relief group UNRWA, which provides relief for Palestinian refugees, is a "proxy" for Hamas are "just flat-out lies."

The US must end Israeli support if there is not going to be a true 2 Separate States solution. Israel has never honored that arrangement and Netanyahu has made it known that he doesn’t plan on doing anything to facilitate a plan for the Palestinian people.
The Arabs have always rejected two states in western Palestine. In 1947, the UN voted for partition. The Jews declared their state. The Arab countries invaded. We have seen how unpeaceful the two post-Oslo Arab mini-states are. After 75 years, the Israelis are tired of this charade. By the way, Jordan (eastern Palestine) was carved out of Mandatory Palestine in 1922 and is Palestinian in all but name.
If you read Hamas's and the PLO's Charter you see that the Palestinians (official) are NOT interested in Israel's existence never mind living beside a Jewish state (Israel).
True, Netanyahu isn't helping create a respectful and peaceful relationship with the Palestinians.
Unlike Gaza and the West Bank, Israel holds frequent elections so Netanyahu can be voted out of office. There haven't been Palestinian elections since 2006!

Israel has been against UNRWA from it's beginning in 1949. Israel opposes the idea that Palestinians are refugees who are what UNRWA was established to aid. Secondly 'waiting to see' if Netanyahu admit to anything is why we are in this situation to begin with. At some point you have to question motives and lack of proof.
Great to see Sen. Van Hollen pointing to how we ( US ) are, and have been, breaking numerous of our own laws to completely support Israel in whatever they want.

What I'm about to say by no means takes Biden off the hook for his complicity in Israels genocidal ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Over half of UNRWA employees were alleged by UN Watch to have immediate family members in Hamas. Hostages have been held in houses of UNRWA employees. UNRWA facilities including schools have been used by Hamas as arms depots, with apparent kniwledge and complicity of UNRWA staff up to the highest levels. The evidence goes on and on. See the recent Congressional hearings, UN Watch reports, Paris conference in UNRWA, etc. BTW, thanks for the compliment.

Van Hollen for President! I don't know what is wrong with the Dems if you have people like Chris Von Hollen amongst your ranks and still think that Biden is a viable option. He is so well versed in foreign policy and domestic affairs for that matter ( to the point that he was the one chosen to prepare Biden for his debates when he was running for VP if my memory serves me well). Biden should go away and enjoy retirement and tey to reconciliate with his conscience after the mess he created.
