I love everyone from this band, and I have since 1985. That era means a lot to me and I will always listen to it,
GASH is one of my favorite bands of all time. I'm really happy to have found this video!! Great bands in Australia, Depression was cool band too.
Thanks for this videos!
Love the Gash footage. Glad someone took the time to document this stuff
I'm having to explain punk in an Australian setting to a bunch of 12-16 year olds who've never heard anything punk in their lives... This is immensely helpful, man I love primary source!
I'm a punk living in melbourne, this is cool
Thanks for uploading this. I got to Melb from Perth in '85, and got into the scene a few years later, but love seeing the origins of the scene I was in. Cheers.
Wow. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. Brilliant footage of Vicious Circle, Depression, Gash. Loved the band interviews... thanks for posting!
4:50 Phil McDougall, he still has a punk show on PBS, Sunglasses After Dark, 8pm on Thursdays.
My favourite show on PBS
If those old people thought this was noise imagine what they would have made of 7 Minutes Of Nausea a few years later. Good documentary
13:40 is my uncle John Flint AKA Feedback. Wow. He was in a few bands one of them was Renegade which you can find on RUclips.

Emo isn't even a subculture, It's a genre of music.
This is punk not emo wtf
of course they would ask people have no idea what they're talking about.
The only "punks" in melbourne city/cbd are the emos with mohawks
The arrogance of youth at the time?
The Saints. That's about it in Australian punk.
X was also an LA band in the late 70s. The same band?
maceikobrandon83 No, completely different outfit. The Australian X was formed by the late great Ian Rilen and put out three albums in the early 80's.
It probably is if you completely missed it
fuck...australia had the most boring scene for the most part. ooof
You suck. Why don't you come to Australia and show us how it's supposed to be then?
let me clarify, australians on the whole couldn't play hardcore punk. most of the stuff on reactor is boring crap---just my opinion innit
I don't think anyone really gives a fuck matey.
hardcore punk on the whole is boring, case in point LA Scene
