Great video and explanation. I've begun using V1 to record and analyze my swing. This video will help . A lot more lateral hip movement than I thought. Much appreciated.
Fascinating to see how Mr. Hogan "used the ground" in his swing, an idea that seems to be popular in current golf instruction. Just shows that he and his contemporaries had it figured out a long time ago. All we had to do was listen and learn.
Great stuff. I've always wondered how to initiate the transition reliably but you can see here that it's the hip movement left just before the top of the swing for all of these players.
You can really feel ease when you use hogans method. His book on fundamentals explains everything very well. It takes practice and time obviously to understand the perspective, but if one puts in the time, they are rewarded immensely. I always thought it was swaying, but it's actually natural motion. I never feel strain or aches during, after, or even days after a massive day. It saved a lot of time and effort as well. I hope more people invest time into learning fundamentals and then applying them in their own way. It's crucial to not take everything so literally.
Great video with focus on hip movements. I am learning the lateral hips move forward before the start of downswing from P4 position. Really appreciate the useful guidance.
It’s very interesting to see how well Tiger gets his elbow into pitch basic position. Not much wonder that he was the best. He had the best mechanics. Excellent video Augusta Golf. Cheers : FJN
There are dozens of muscles affect the hips. The same to 'shoulder frame', especially the trapezius next to the neck. Most of the time, it is the real working horse of the shoulder frame, and same as the four adductors at the inner side of legs. We can see Ben Hogan close both arms firmly along both sides of belly muscles, let the belly muscles drive the arm and rotates the trapezius to erect down the club quickly to create the max head angular speed at the middle of legs Maybe, Tiger Woods and Justin Rose are among the few top 100 players not follow this rule!
Dustin Johnson has the least amount of lateral movement. His swing, I feel is more rotary. Another player like that is Daniel Burger. Not much lateral movement.
If you start to think about the outside line of the body, it is NOT Ben Hogan or Mike McIlroy. It become Tiger Woods waiting for surgery. We can understand Ben Hogan by try to move a 5 gallons tank filled with water with both hands, lift it up first at right side then 'throw' it away to the left as far as possible.
Great video and explanation.

I'd be interested to hear some examples of taking things too literally, especially if your remark refers to things in Hogan's classic.

Good stuff!
Excellent demonstration!👍🏌️♀️

Your videos are very good and practical. May you also show the Arm positions and movements by Hogan and modern players, please.

Great video. The Hogan two belt drill is the one video I really enjoy. When things start to go bad, I use it to get back on track
Thanks 👍
Create video and teaching glad I subscribed to this channel.
A Masterpiece!
Excellent idea to use the sticks as presented in the video
Thanks for the lessons.
What I learned from this video is that it’s ok to move the lower body as long as the head stays behind the ball.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent demonstration!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very well done analysis.

Glad to hear it!
All of these great player frame by frame look extremely athletic.
Great video. Is this the same thing as re-centering?
Centered back swing.
Awesome vid
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Great stuff
thanks
One thing I noticed about Tiger's downswing is that he has a little bit of the Snead Squat. I wonder if he's even aware of it?
I see how I can use my phone and an app that I have to examine my swing using drawn lines. And compare.
Arm position at address is consistent for Tiger, Hogan, and DJ

Nice video Bj
Thanks for the visit
Wow. Nobody gets their right hip to the ball at impact the way Mr. Hogan does.
