Pompa-Baldi's interpretation of Chopin is truly riveting. It holds the listeners in the lasting resonance of crystalline chords and cadences. Would recommend anyone who is in search for sublime musical experience.
I clicked on this video with the intention of just listening to one or two études thinking that surely there can't be anything here that I haven't heard before. I was wrong. You have excellent ideas for interpretations. I was amazed by your ability to project certain inner voices. Voices that I was never aware of before even having heard and played these works countless times. Congratulations! You've managed to make these frequently performed works sound fresh!
Superb performance, with an ideal balance of imagination, sensitivity,. elegance, tonal color and technical excitement and precision!!!!! Bravissimo!!!!
He makes the music ! No.3 very personal.4 a Lion, accents and unusual rythms etc.! 5 had charm and individual textures in left hand .6 is my favorite -he played it like a jazz musician gorgeousstrong layering of voices .Second half of no.6 he seemed transported. He made no.7 totally rainy music.I wish I could play it like that.No.8 too much pedal for methe last 2 pages were incredibleI don't know how professionals do these things and get these sounds! .No.9 was the most unforgettable . I 'd like to play it this way most play it too slow he kept the agitato esp.left hand . I never wanted to learn No.10 but he made it new and interesting! It had details of voicing, textures, pedaling and gorgeous rethought PHRASING! the first note deliciously wedded to thetriplets and astonished by his voicings .Heard him years ago in Texas at the Van Cliburn . Masterful philosophy of Chopin performance here !
Je suis habitué à jouer ces études en concert, et là, franchement... je suis émerveillé. Une telle structure, un tel lyrisme, une telle humanité... et infaillibilité à (presque) 100%. Merveilleux son. Tu es un modèle pour tes confrères!
OMG the 5th etude such lightness and his diminuendos and characterization, IMAGINATION!!! No.9 has never been so visionary ! Oh Master ! How does he get the chorale accents in middle register in first etude I don't see a diffeent arm or pedal . He really is one of the best musicians . I just heard his Hummel and it's the best Ive ever heard Hummel played . Pompa-Baldi had depth . I didn't think Hummel had depth but 3rd sonata as he plays it is incredible !
Not only a grand performance BUT also an exceptional audio recording of this fine video. They are considering the room as part of the overall sound of this grand piano.. Notice just two microphones above and not inside the instrument. If you have a good sound system to listen to these performances of RUclips, you may feel you are in the room with the audience as the piano sounds like it may to those in attendance. Thank you for a quality video and performance by Antonio Pompa-Baldi. Paul
Edge-seater from first to last bar. Fabulous piano playing and masterful sound crafting (gorgeous voicing indeed). Thank you for sharing this Maestro Pompa-Baldi and looking forward to hearing you live in Canada (planning any recitals/concerts in the Quebec province anytime soon?)!
Hello everyone! All Brahmschumann videos of Antonio Pompa-Baldi are now also available, with many new ones, on the channel ruclips.net/user/antoniopompabaldi
Bem engenhoso.

★★★★★ MAGNIFIC! GOOD MORNING MY FRIEND! FANTASTIC DAY FOR YOU! ;-)))))
...so to you
I saw you at the Van Cliburn winner's concert at Weill Zankel Hall. Since then I've been a fan of yours (and of Olga). You never disappoint.
He's a genius
Fabuleux
Beautiful performance! I'll be there when you perform in Halifax at the end of the month.
Wonderful performance; the flowers and chandeliers are lovely, but it is unfortunate that the camera did not zoom in closer to Mr Pompa-Baldi's hands.
fantastico Antonio!
Bravissimo!
my god this is next level stuff.
I love this man..........
Una bestia total.. Maravilloso Pompa.
Bellissimo ,perfetto
Interpretazione incredibile!
Mr Pompa-Baldi, you are the worthy successor of the sorely missed Michelangeli !
Edge-seater from first to last bar. Fabulous piano playing and masterful sound crafting (gorgeous voicing indeed).

Le note intermedie che hai marcato nella parte finale del 10-1 sono un tocco di classe incredibile ...

Thrilling
Interpretazione a dir poco meravigliosa...
Excepcional.

perfunctory

Weird pedaling especially No. 2, blurred the harmony and made unnecessary slurring
