    In this video I have the “Short” model. I have used it with both Kuiu and Exo Packs.

    I've used my Kifaru Gun Bearer for several seasons now. I too have a longer barrel which puts the muzzle in your field of view. I now have three ways to carry my rifle/backpack combination; over the shoulder, built in backpack rifle sling, and my Kifaru Gun Bearer. When I'm just covering miles, I attach my rifle to my backpack. When I'm in an active zone, I switch to my Kifaru Gun Bearer. Note: Shoulder carry is a pain in the a**. I've gotten use to working around my Kifaru Gun Bearer and my rifle barrel in my face. Its worth the inconvenience because It makes carrying my rifle much easier over long distance all day long. Three things: always make sure the Kifaru quick release buckle is fully and securely snapped shut; never carry your rifle with a live round in the chamber; and always carry your scope behind you tucked under your arm!

    Thank you. I had been wondering about that cary system for a while.

    Good video. I like mine too. I flip the rifle so the scope isn't in my armpit. I have shoulder issues and the bell housing pushes my shoulder out too far. I also like to run the quick release on the top part of the frame on my pack for more of a pack mount when I'm in the steep nasty stuff.

      @@DMOUA_OUTDOORS actually i dont hunt a whole lot. hard sitting and walking. liked the idea of carrying the rifle that way, but my hip socket and si joint were aggrevated. i just went back to switching shoulders. might try that "knob". cant remember where ive seen it. know what im talking about?

      Gotcha. I think you’re referring to the frankenstud. Good idea but not for me. I like to be hands free at all times when hiking, climbing, bending, etc... so I stuck with the kifaru.

    Considering this solution to carry my 6.5 and AR to/from my car to the range. Thought about a rolling solution, but putting two of these on my pack would seem straightforward. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  3 года назад +1

      I’ve never tried running two at the same time but it might work for a short distance. Why not just strap one rifle to the back of your pack?

  • @amandapena4111
    @amandapena4111 3 года назад +1

    I know I need something different. I really get worn out carrying my rifle while hunting. My gun strap is not doing the job.

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS

      I don't like to tell people what they should get but I think this is a pretty good option. Hands free and still very easy to access. Only downfall as I mentioned in the video is if you have a pretty long barrel then it will definitely get in the way. Not the end of the world for most but can't speak for everyone else.

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  3 года назад

      From their website. No idea if it’ll work without a waist belt. I’ve always ran it the way it was designed to be used and that is with a waist belt. You can ask Kifaru.

    Do you recommend any low budget packs?

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  3 года назад

      It really depends on what your intended use of it is for. For backcountry and or the ability to haul heavy loads with it then no. It’s just like everything else, you get what you pay for. If you’re simply doing day hunts in areas where you can drag the whole animal out then yes there are a lot of low budget packs that will suit your needs just fine. Badlands, Tenzing, Eberlestock, etc...

  • @pinmarkretrievers7117
    @pinmarkretrievers7117 3 года назад

    That looks like it puts your rifle scope/barrel in direct contact with your arm pit. That seems a bit uncomfortable. Was that the case?

    • @DMOUA_OUTDOORS
      @DMOUA_OUTDOORS  3 года назад +1

      It sits slightly lower than the armpit. The rifle and be angled more forward depending how you tighten the top strap.

      @@DMOUA_OUTDOORS it is a Turkish 8mm it shoots really good and I just don't want to make any changes to it .that way I can put it back in it's wall nut stock and back to origanal non numbers matching tho but all parts are terk stamped . If I had ammo and a chance to shoot my 30-06 to get a feel for yardage I would use that one .I have a few in 7.62x39 but I don't want to use them for bear .I'm thinking next year I may invest in a new caliber might do a custom build .the 8mm is a lot to lug around lol
