I am using steel wire torch to blow an aoe fire. Because the fire remains for about 2sec after using the skill, you can actually blow it earlier to catch the ball. Try it.
It's timing. You have to swing when the visible mark is further away from you. You have to factor in the lag in the controls especially with a heavy weapon like Bloodhounds's Fang.
God, I adore this game. There are so many little details. Like how the crabs near the capital who feast above Godwyn's tomb have his image on their backs, indicating that they are tainted by him. Chills, man. The storytelling in this gives me chills.
P.S: If you don’t see Naphali at the round table, that means your game has a glitch. Go to the village of albinaurics and come back to the round table and she will be there 🙏🏼🤘🏽 hope this helped all my gamers who suffer with all the bs I do lol
Things are going so much differently in my playthrough! I’ve been staying a few bosses ahead of this just so I can still have the wonder of my maiden voyage. I can’t stress enough how great this guide is, but the game is so diverse to choice I would highly recommend using this as a resource instead of a roadmap. I’m playing my own game and returning to see if I missed anything I want. Best of both worlds. Thanks for this

Hey just a head's up to everybody before you level up the Letenna. She is a Turret style Summon, which means she is stationary. Where you Summon her, is where she stays. That being said, she fires 3 arrows in fast succession, which not only does good chip damage, it is great for Agro. So, if you can find clever spots to place her, where she is out of harms way, she can be one of the most useful summons there is, but if it's a wide open fight and she isn't protected, she will be outta there fast.
This is my first souls game and I’ll admit when I first started this game I was not too pleased with it. After finding your channel and walkthrough (16 episodes in) this has helped me immensely and now I thoroughly enjoy this game. Thank you for the content.
I ALMOST was enjoying myself up to this point. Now I am on the omenkiller which isn't even a hard boss, I am just horrible at combat so I think I need to play something else after spending all this time trying to figure out how to possibly be good at these games 😂
anyone struggling to get the invisible balls, get on your horse stand where hes already been (so that way you know hes gonna go over that same exact spot) and just charge r2 he just runs straight into it

Thank you for another jam-packed episode. I will be grabbing that somber 5 as soon as I get off work. I also like halberds but suck at using them. Looking at some other comments makes me realize that some folks want you to answer a lot of questions they could just look up themselves. Cowboy does so much work for us so do some for yourselves.
For the invisible rolly boys, use glinstone phalanx and stand on their incoming path. The swords should hone in on the thing, so all you gotta do is just stand there and face his incoming direction.
Hey cowboy awesome walkthroughs they are helping me a bunch. I found a trick with those invisible scarabs if you use your bow and use the aim feature and stand in their path and fire you'll hit them every time. I hope this makes things easier on you and your film time.
I just have to say as I rerererewatch this video(because I love to have this video in the background as I play)… last year was so fun going through this last year. These games are the best!
One of the best walkthroughs out there! One part that I found left me wanting was a lack of path to grab regular smithing stones to get your weapon on par with the somber weapons. Makes it harder to keep up when your strongest weapon is only +7 at best.
Cowboy I noticed you missed the dagger that’s next to the guy hiding in the pot. It’s behind the grave tomb. Just in case anybody wants a pretty cool and decent dagger make sure to check behind the tomb next to the albanauric who pops out of the pot who gives you that coin.

A good method for anyone stuggling against mounted enemies, fight them on foot and hang around on the opposite side of their weapon arm. You can whale on them when they are swinging on the wrong side. Ive taken down many dark nights from early game using this method, punching well above my weight. Even took out golden knight boy doing this right at the beginning.
the latenna summon is really cool if youre in an area with dire wolves she will mount one so she can move around riding it!!! otherwise she is kinda like a turret and will always stay in the spot u summon her so best to put her in a good spot
I just finished the Academy of Raya Lucaria with Bloodhound's Fang +5 and damn this thing is ridiculous. Radagon's wolf done in less than 20 seconds, Rennala obliterated too.
It is, but a Paladin build with a +5 Golden Halberd on STR - FAI is even stronger. I think STR - FAI is overall stronger in all cases than Quality build.
@@ItsJustVV So is Dex/faith at least with the Winged Scythe. With both at +5 Winged is doing over 100 more damage than Bloodhound Fang, though it is split physical/holy it also has one of the best weapon arts in the game
@@ItsJustVV I save-scummed to respec without losing the item (name is eluding me) and you're right, Golden Halberd is great. So now I've started a str/fai character to main this weapon. It drops from the knight boss at the start of the game, right?
If Nepheli is missing speak to her father Gideon. He will be one of the npc standing around the round table at the table of lost grace, rest and she should appear at the location cb showed in a few videos back.
A little tip for making the invisible dung Beatles easier. Equip Rogier's Rapier and use the sword's ability then press the lock on button. It should kill them for you

I did a blind run through Altus plateau and probably triggered the festival disappearing from redmane Castle. However, I found out that you can respawn everything talking to the NPC on Redmane castle itself.
Damn, that's pretty tragic about the Village of Albuinaurics! There are so many interesting storylines and rich history to this world. A series should be made for this!
The spear talisman, any piercing attack that interrupts an enemies attack animation gets a %15 or so damage bonus. As a spear user I see this all the time with the "shield up and poke" tactic but it works for any weapon with pierce damage if you use the peirce attack to interrupt an enemy attack, including arrows, thrusting swords, the Rusted Anchor, Pickaxe, the lucerne running light attack and it's ash of war etc.
Just a heads up I can vouch for clinging bone I used it as a secondary it's great for topping off your health from little dudes when your health is low and at plus ten the amount of health you gain is amazing obviously if your following along with the guide it'll be awhile and id level up bloodhounds fang first followed by the clinging bone he doesn't think it's great but it's all personal preference
The invisible ball can be easily gotten using the Meteoric Blade. Just do the skill strike to the ground as soon as the ball comes within close proximity and the special attack will render you the prize.
as a note: while it doesn't get you anything, if you go back to Village of Albinaurics and summon Latenna in front of Albus (the guy who gave you the medallion piece). Latenna will kneel in front of him, Albus will murmur something and then die.
I have Lion's Claw on the Gutz sword now, and I got the Bloodhound Knight stuck in a stun loop with it as soon as he attacked me, apparently you get Godly poise with it, and I cycled through it four times and literally beat him into the ground. He never got off a lick. Pretty cool. Try it.
I have followed every step in this walkthrough and.. Nepheli was gone after Godrick until I made it through the cave with the bloodhound fang boss. If anyone else has this issue, keep proceeding till this point and then backtrack to her other locations to catch up the dialogue. Great vids also Cowboy!
When you defeated Godrick and can’t nepheli in the roundtable just go talk to gideon get out of the roundtable and go immediately back nepheli will be there
The sword of night and flame (the crazy strong weapon you where talking about at 29:20) was nerfed hard, it used to deal 1200+ base with its special now it deals 800 with a twice as long cast speed as of the latest patch 1.03 it's 110% pure garbage now. I was originally using sword of night and flame with golden seal leveling into intellect and faith but after the nerf it ruined the entire build and I had to start a fresh.

Another means of taking on the crystal enemies at the beginning of the episode is activate barricade shield, take their hit then guard counter, rinse and repeat. I didn't even have to upgrade the Morning Star.

I also liked the 'early' farming spot you showed in one of your earlier video's. Would that place still be a good spot to farm around this video time (video 16 - around level 50 atm)? I started with a Grave scythe and it is awesome. I picked up another one and just started deleting bosses. Got a lady Frieda thing going on. My jump attack will one shot in PvP as well.
@@SirGuidemere91 you can farm them from grave sites. The best place is right outside "Lake-facing cliffs" in liurnia there are three that spawn there at a time who all carry it
@@SirGuidemere91 make sure to put frost on them as soon as you can and not only will you get the the bleed HP reduction frost has one too so..like I said you'll be deleting bosses and if they are still alive the frost five a 20% dmg boost

I have already killed radahn then I found your walkthrough and found out I've missed out on so much. So I've started to follow and now on this episode you said your going to do other stuff before fighting radahn. Since I have already beaten him does that effect the mpc spawns or any quest for the platinum?
I was wondering that too? What I gathered from the internet you can unlock the other things by killing the boss and talking to a NPC but I am not sure though
I'm the same.. have already killed radahn, not sure if it'll effect platinum but I've played ahead of these episodes and have notice some of the npc's spawning for cowboy haven't spawned for me or are in other locations
22:04 - Correction, it doesn't restore health if your health is "very low" it restores health while your health is reduced. Which can only be achieved by the death bed companion afaik.

I've been following along on this walk-through and with Nepheli I think I messed up and didn't finish her dialog out when we first encounter her and she's not in the library. Question is where is she? So that way I can complete her quest. Thanks

You can also reset Redmane Castle after beating Radhan. Just talk to the host that looks like slave knight Gael and then rest at the grace. It will respawn the castle including the double boss battle.
Is this for those that advanced Redmane Castle by resting in the Plateau before clearing it? I'm running a few hours ahead of the guide and just got to the point where he said the real boss appears at Redmane. Was just making my way there too, lol
Thank you for these walkthroughs. For someone who is completely new to souls types games these have been helping me out so much as I had/still have no clue what I am doing. Also, IK you have been going for a quality build this walkthrough but how do you recommend knowing what build type you want to be and does the starting class affect your options later in the game?
As for starting classes, these are only good for the weapon you want to begin with and depending on your build you get a small headstart for stats, but those don't matter at all in mid-end game since you have lots of points and you can respec

Fighting Cowboy, just MHO Latenna is an excellent spirit ash to summon. The key is placement of Latenna, she does not move from her place of summon. (Jaw dropping news, just read another comment, if summon among dire wolf she will mount one and move about)! Yes she is able to take a beating so you can hang close to her, she draw in your foe, you do the beating, she does the shooting.
For those who like...after the night horseback knight (end of the video) there is a chapel with a Sacred Tear to upgrade your flask, a Grace, a merchant, and another grace down the cliff...all very close by.
Nepheli was not in the main hub like many others have commented, but she was under the bridge as you progress through. So I don’t think we missed anything, it could be an update that moved her location.
IF anyone has nepheli missing after doing the castle part like I did... finally after talking to the NPC and giving her the secret medallion she showed up in my round table. I was then able to find her in the Village of the Albinaurics.
The guy at 9:39 faded away when I exhausted his dialogue after I got the medallion all in that same moment. So what hes gone for good? Been watching all your walkthrough guides since ds3 years ago. This is my first play through with the game. Great guide
Fist off - this walkthrough is amazing. First time playing a souls game, I really struggled and was about to give up until I found this guide. Now, I made a balls up. I didn't speak with Napheli before fighting Godrick, and now she's not in the Roundtable Hold....does she spawn anywhere else on the map? Or have I totally lost this quest line now?
I’m doing this walkthrough with my NG+ character and I just summoned Omen Killer Rollo (who’s a +9) to fight the Omen Killer Boss. I have to give props to Rollo, he completely destroyed him!

For a Strike weapon I went and grabbed the Large Club from just near the Evergaol (down the cliff behind it). Only requirement is 22 Str so easily equipped even if you need to 2-hand it.

I've been using the Golden Halbert and it has been great! That holy damage is very nice

I also like to use Glintstone Arc, while just standing on the path watching it come to me.

Cowboy I noticed you missed the dagger that’s next to the guy hiding in the pot. It’s behind the grave tomb. Just in case anybody wants a pretty cool and decent dagger make sure to check behind the tomb next to the albanauric who pops out of the pot who gives you that coin.

A good method for anyone stuggling against mounted enemies, fight them on foot and hang around on the opposite side of their weapon arm. You can whale on them when they are swinging on the wrong side. Ive taken down many dark nights from early game using this method, punching well above my weight. Even took out golden knight boy doing this right at the beginning.
Thanks, I actually beat him as a mage using my rapier with scholars armament cast on it. Going to try it with the other riding bastards. Lol.

the latenna summon is really cool if youre in an area with dire wolves she will mount one so she can move around riding it!!! otherwise she is kinda like a turret and will always stay in the spot u summon her so best to put her in a good spot
I just finished the Academy of Raya Lucaria with Bloodhound's Fang +5 and damn this thing is ridiculous. Radagon's wolf done in less than 20 seconds, Rennala obliterated too.
It is, but a Paladin build with a +5 Golden Halberd on STR - FAI is even stronger. I think STR - FAI is overall stronger in all cases than Quality build.

@@ItsJustVV So is Dex/faith at least with the Winged Scythe. With both at +5 Winged is doing over 100 more damage than Bloodhound Fang, though it is split physical/holy it also has one of the best weapon arts in the game
@@mfallen6894 Yes, if you go DEX + FAI, that's a good weapon. For STR + FAI it's the Golden Halberd.
@@ItsJustVV I save-scummed to respec without losing the item (name is eluding me) and you're right, Golden Halberd is great. So now I've started a str/fai character to main this weapon. It drops from the knight boss at the start of the game, right?

If Nepheli is missing speak to her father Gideon. He will be one of the npc standing around the round table at the table of lost grace, rest and she should appear at the location cb showed in a few videos back.

A little tip for making the invisible dung Beatles easier. Equip Rogier's Rapier and use the sword's ability then press the lock on button. It should kill them for you

For the invisible ball near Caria Manor. Just mount and r2 with your 2h wep and drag through the path. Sooo much easier.

I did a blind run through Altus plateau and probably triggered the festival disappearing from redmane Castle. However, I found out that you can respawn everything talking to the NPC on Redmane castle itself.
Damn, that's pretty tragic about the Village of Albuinaurics! There are so many interesting storylines and rich history to this world. A series should be made for this!

The spear talisman, any piercing attack that interrupts an enemies attack animation gets a %15 or so damage bonus. As a spear user I see this all the time with the "shield up and poke" tactic but it works for any weapon with pierce damage if you use the peirce attack to interrupt an enemy attack, including arrows, thrusting swords, the Rusted Anchor, Pickaxe, the lucerne running light attack and it's ash of war etc.
Seems to me, maybe I am wrong, OmenKiller is like an homage to Capra in DS1. The dogs, dual blades, and his attack.
The horns too. I didn't see it before but I think you're right.
Just a heads up I can vouch for clinging bone I used it as a secondary it's great for topping off your health from little dudes when your health is low and at plus ten the amount of health you gain is amazing obviously if your following along with the guide it'll be awhile and id level up bloodhounds fang first followed by the clinging bone he doesn't think it's great but it's all personal preference

The invisible ball can be easily gotten using the Meteoric Blade. Just do the skill strike to the ground as soon as the ball comes within close proximity and the special attack will render you the prize.
as a note: while it doesn't get you anything, if you go back to Village of Albinaurics and summon Latenna in front of Albus (the guy who gave you the medallion piece). Latenna will kneel in front of him, Albus will murmur something and then die.

I have Lion's Claw on the Gutz sword now, and I got the Bloodhound Knight stuck in a stun loop with it as soon as he attacked me, apparently you get Godly poise with it, and I cycled through it four times and literally beat him into the ground. He never got off a lick. Pretty cool. Try it.

Man, I can not express grateful I am for the heal trick vs the Royal Revenant. Those were my most hated enemy and that just makes it easy peasy.
I have followed every step in this walkthrough and.. Nepheli was gone after Godrick until I made it through the cave with the bloodhound fang boss. If anyone else has this issue, keep proceeding till this point and then backtrack to her other locations to catch up the dialogue. Great vids also Cowboy!
When you defeated Godrick and can’t nepheli in the roundtable just go talk to gideon get out of the roundtable and go immediately back nepheli will be there
If you haven't been able to find nepheli at all since you beat godrick make sure youve talked through all of Gideon's dialogue.
The sword of night and flame (the crazy strong weapon you where talking about at 29:20) was nerfed hard, it used to deal 1200+ base with its special now it deals 800 with a twice as long cast speed as of the latest patch 1.03 it's 110% pure garbage now. I was originally using sword of night and flame with golden seal leveling into intellect and faith but after the nerf it ruined the entire build and I had to start a fresh.

Another means of taking on the crystal enemies at the beginning of the episode is activate barricade shield, take their hit then guard counter, rinse and repeat. I didn't even have to upgrade the Morning Star.

I started with a Grave scythe and it is awesome. I picked up another one and just started deleting bosses. Got a lady Frieda thing going on. My jump attack will one shot in PvP as well.
Where do you get it? I love schythes since bloodborne. But wind one is faith and the basic is too weak right now :(
@@SirGuidemere91 you can farm them from grave sites. The best place is right outside "Lake-facing cliffs" in liurnia there are three that spawn there at a time who all carry it

@@SirGuidemere91 make sure to put frost on them as soon as you can and not only will you get the the bleed HP reduction frost has one too so..like I said you'll be deleting bosses and if they are still alive the frost five a 20% dmg boost

I have already killed radahn then I found your walkthrough and found out I've missed out on so much. So I've started to follow and now on this episode you said your going to do other stuff before fighting radahn. Since I have already beaten him does that effect the mpc spawns or any quest for the platinum?
I would like to know if you triggered the radahn fight by go to the plateau, does that affect the platinum?
I was wondering that too? What I gathered from the internet you can unlock the other things by killing the boss and talking to a NPC but I am not sure though

The Ashe Latenna that you get at 21:03 can also ride a wolf if there are any around and stoop them from attacking you.
22:04 - Correction, it doesn't restore health if your health is "very low" it restores health while your health is reduced. Which can only be achieved by the death bed companion afaik.
Seems not to be true, the translation also says: while health is low. Doesn’t do anything while carrying death bed companion

I've been following along on this walk-through and with Nepheli I think I messed up and didn't finish her dialog out when we first encounter her and she's not in the library. Question is where is she? So that way I can complete her quest. Thanks

Check downstairs from the blacksmith at roundtable
You can also reset Redmane Castle after beating Radhan. Just talk to the host that looks like slave knight Gael and then rest at the grace. It will respawn the castle including the double boss battle.
Is this for those that advanced Redmane Castle by resting in the Plateau before clearing it? I'm running a few hours ahead of the guide and just got to the point where he said the real boss appears at Redmane. Was just making my way there too, lol

Also, IK you have been going for a quality build this walkthrough but how do you recommend knowing what build type you want to be and does the starting class affect your options later in the game?
Don't worry you can just Respec later
As for starting classes, these are only good for the weapon you want to begin with and depending on your build you get a small headstart for stats, but those don't matter at all in mid-end game since you have lots of points and you can respec
Around the end of the video when you fight the night boss it totally looks like a role reverse and the horse guy looks like he is running from you!?

Fighting Cowboy, just MHO Latenna is an excellent spirit ash to summon. The key is placement of Latenna, she does not move from her place of summon. (Jaw dropping news, just read another comment, if summon among dire wolf she will mount one and move about)! Yes she is able to take a beating so you can hang close to her, she draw in your foe, you do the beating, she does the shooting.
For those who like...after the night horseback knight (end of the video) there is a chapel with a Sacred Tear to upgrade your flask, a Grace, a merchant, and another grace down the cliff...all very close by.
Nepheli was not in the main hub like many others have commented, but she was under the bridge as you progress through. So I don’t think we missed anything, it could be an update that moved her location.

Fist off - this walkthrough is amazing. First time playing a souls game, I really struggled and was about to give up until I found this guide. Now, I made a balls up. I didn't speak with Napheli before fighting Godrick, and now she's not in the Roundtable Hold....does she spawn anywhere else on the map? Or have I totally lost this quest line now?
I’m doing this walkthrough with my NG+ character and I just summoned Omen Killer Rollo (who’s a +9) to fight the Omen Killer Boss. I have to give props to Rollo, he completely destroyed him!

For the bunt weapon Grafted Blade Greatsword does wonders. It hits hard and can break there guard then do the crit and it weakens them

OK, first of all, thank you for the video's. Super helpful. Really??? a Heal spell, did that much damage? Wow. It took me forever the first time I did my walk-thru, and now this was a walk in the park using the heal spell... Thank you again.
For a Strike weapon I went and grabbed the Large Club from just near the Evergaol (down the cliff behind it). Only requirement is 22 Str so easily equipped even if you need to 2-hand it.
