Watching these Soul Train clips on RUclips makes me feel like I was born way too late and missed out on a BIG 10-year party! My era pales in comparison to the good times seen here. Great music and awesome dancing!
Onan M YOU SAID IT!! WHEN THIS CAME OUT I WAS 13 YEARS OLD. I HAD MY EAR TO ALL THE DISCO RADIO STATIONS WHERE I LIVED! YOU MISSED OUT ON THE DISCO, FUNK AND SOUL THAT PERMEATED THE AIRWAVES AND DANCE FLOORS. NOTHING WILL EVER BE LIKE THAT AGAIN. I MISS IT SO MUCH. DISCO AL
Great Times with even greater friends, whom i cherish today. The later spoken on, I am so sure they were available,I dont know of anyone who felt the need, Just dancing on Soul Train, and keping up with all of our rigorous performances , in and out of town was a full time job, that we all loved and no one never ever had any quarells, that i knew of,.lol...:)
MsEricaLize1 year ago They were getting down! They were doing their own thing and NOBODY was judging! They all embraced it! I wish people still danced and had fun like this. RIGHT ON SISTER !!!
where did these times go, turn back the clock please, if are young people only knew. Like some people think, going out dancing was about doing drugs, well I'm here to tell you, where I was from thats not the story, yes there was some drinking and limited pot smoking, but the hard drugs werent to be found, if they were around, they were being kept a big secret, it was fun times shared with many friends, at many night clubs, lot of romance, the late 70's to the early 90's, , roller skating, dancing, movies, cinema and drive-ins, best of both worlds, parking under the stars, late night date at the beach, lot of cool cars, great tunes on the radio. THOSE WERE THE DAYS
Soul Train MADE my Saturday afternoons. I look at this clip and smile. The dancers make me smile! And they're all so damn CUTE!!! And, of course, The Silvers. LOVED THEM! There's no school like OLD SCHOOL!
U can tell even then Jody & Jeffrey were serious then because all their dances were always so much more routine, & in sync with one another. They took it as a craft. VERY SERIOUSLY.
Happy February Black History Month from the Little Angels 👼 to the Sylvers. The Sylvers deserves a star 🌟 on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, now is the time.
When I hear this I just imagine beautiful black girls in cheerleading uniforms, with afros, afro puffs and roller sets bouncing in the spring breeze lol. This song is so joyful!
Most of the dancers on the show were aspiring artist, they had to audition to dance on Soul train, as you probably already know, some of them have become famous too!
Does anyone know who the 4th couple who came down the line at :33? They are a tall elegant couple. She is in black pants, a vest, and a white shirt. He is in black pants and s black shirt. Love them! Anyone know who they are?
no, its not just u. ive been noticing this change in soul-full-ness. yes we were in better physical shape back in the day. i dont know what the hell happened to us!!!
30 losers with thumbs down 👎 that's know soul at all get a life soul train will always be blacks #1 Show groove on brothers and sisters 2021 Baltimore City in the house 🏠
she's still dancing.... she made an appearance on the Soul Train Documentary. she talked about how difficult it was at first being on soul train... check it out
lol, I grew up back then... and the only time you were in the house during the day was to watch soul train and cartoons... then you were out in the streets playing...riding bikes, basketball, football, etc or you were dancing... you couldn't just sit around and eat junk food and watch tv all day because either you couldn't afford it, or your parents wouldn't let you...AND you didn't wanna stay in the house...sooooooo we stayed more fit... even though it was cruel, a chubby kid stood out more and was teased...
Never liked that song! Sylvers was a beautiful family but I see why they didn't last. Hot line, Boogie fever ,was it for them. Oh well the dancers making it work for them. Getting Down!

The Sylvers are too classical.
High School Dance my favourite hit forty five years ago and our disco for you.

I wonder whatever happened to Cheryl Song, the dancer with the long hair? Last saw her in Michael Jackson's Beat It.

Does anyone know who the couple from1:01 are? I love the way that woman dances and she's cute as a button!
Her dance partner was a pretty smooth dancer as well, especially when he was getting down-literally!🕺🏽

Always though the girl @ 1:33 was cute.
Her name is Sharon Hill.
@@darlingjessi668 Many thanks. Girl was fine...
SharonH. One of the very best dance Ladies in Soul Train history.
Sharon Hill entered the dance contest on American Bandstand and she and her dance partner WON!!!
This honestly made my day! Amazing song and dancers as always!
The song is called "The Highschool Dance" by the group The Sylvers!
yeah nice stereotypes there buddy, but not all black youth is a walking prison statistic, there is a remnant, there is hope..
summer of 77

Black people always had the moves tried myself but I was just a small while child
YOU NAILED IT!!! #Something'sTerriblyWrong
DG had moves!! Who knew!! Wowwwww

What's the reason they canceled Soul Train ?
The show started to lose the magic of the 70s and later music videos finished it off IMO
Kicks

Especially, Tyrone proctor and Jeffrey Daniel.

2:33
JAM!
I just saw this SAME VIDEO LINE dancing to Stevie wonder's I Wish...hmmm??

Ik. Never even heard this song. Sounds so American Bandstandish. Not that I disliked AB
@TheReneex
All races got along what HAPPENED?
All races...i only see black folks...😂
After the turbulent 60s, people wanted love, peace and soulllll
Why did soul train switch from men and women dancing together on the line to separate lines?
Probably the dancers didn't want to be overshadowed by their partners. I preferred the couples
LOVE THE COUPLES DANCING TOGETHER AND
Couples rule!
