When Oceans Meet
A century ago, in 1330AH, two celebrated saints of the Islamic World, Shaykh Sayyid al-Qutb Isma'il Al-Yaqoubi Al-Hasani from Syria and Shaykh Al-Mashayikh Ala Hazrat Ali Hussain Ashrafi Miyan Al-Hasani from India, met in Damascus. It was an encounter which signified the brotherhood, love and legacy which the Ulema from across the globe share.
Shaykh Ashrafi Miyan conferred ijazah to Shaykh Isma'il in the Ashrafi Way which the latter then passed to his son, the renowned gnostic Shaykh Ibrahim Al-Yaqoubi Al-Hasani.
Today, His Eminence Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi Al-Hasani and Shaykh Al-Islam Sayyid Madani Miyan Al-Hasani, grandsons of those two luminaries from a century ago, met to relive the encounter between their grandfathers.
Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi presented a copy of that historic ijazah to Shaykh Madani Miyan along with pictures of his father and grandfather, and his published books.
Ijazah was exchanged between them; while Shaykh Muhammad gave ijazah for the Shadhili Way and the Hadith of Mercy, and Shaykh Madani Miyan for the Ashrafi Way.
This meeting was, as Shaykh Muhammad described it, a Divine arrangment directly from Allah Almighty.
Both spoke about the meeting between their grandparents, while displaying the highest level of etiquette, a hallmark of the Prophet's offspring, (peace be upon him).

Alhamdulillah Shaykh Al-Islam wa Al-Muslimin Syed Madani Miya Ashrafi Gilani granted Syed Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi khilafat in the Ashrafi tariqah.
The shaykh already has khilafat in this tariqa via their Grandfather Shaykh Ismail Al-Yaqubi Rahima hullah.
Shaykh Muhammad also granted Syedi Shaykh Madani Al-Ashrafi Gilani Ijazah in the Shadhili tariqa.

Shaykh yaqoubi has great respect for ulama deoband Alhumdulillah.
Yes he corrects where needed but is key for Sunni unity.
