Thanks for the video! I love my Insta360 One X2, and you are right, it is more or less for fun! Shooting the footage is so much easier, and there is stability. The success from your camera, lies in the editing. It is you that make the video as fun as can be. This camera is a great addition when going on trips (once we are back to it). You have so much more environment captured, and you decide in the editing what to look at. The only thing I’m truly afraid of, is the lenses being hit. At this moment I’m having the neoprene cover over the lenses, but the cap is much easier to put on and remove. Great camera!
@@Nestico87 hi Derek, I do not have the lens protectors on my camera. Only the cap, to protect the lenses while carrying or stowing away. I've read that they have more glare to the footage. But I do not have any experience with it.
My husband was going to get me a Mini 2 for Christmas and then we had our sewer pipe burst. $22k later and I didn’t get my drone for Christmas but I’ll still live vicariously through your videos for now. Thank you for your dedication to quality content! Even without hope of having a drone anytime soon, I’ve still been watching all your videos. Keep up the good work!!!
From a previous post I complained about not getting my order. Well, I got it and it is ALL good. I hadn't seen this video, great as with all your videos. Amazing stabilization. I tried it on my Mavic Air 2 with a not appropriate at all way to attach the 360 to it. Needless to say, the poor drone was unstable and moving from side to side, dancing like crazy. It did get a little bit more stable when it was moving. It was amazing to frame below the camera and look at the drone's shadow and the drone and see all the crazy movement going and then changing the frame to the front or side and see no movement at ALL on the footage. (I do have a proper bracket for it now) It is indeed and incredible little camera, very versatile and practical, LOVE it. By all means, I would like to see you doing videos about these kinds of products that, in a way, are related or can be used with drones.
I was about to get the “R” but I kept thinking, “I wish they made one that was ONLY 360, without the multiple lenses that will only get lost,” and luckily I came across your channel. Now I know exactly what I want, and I think its going to be really fun. Thanks!
I am coming from photography and started some months ago to make videos from my bicycle tours… and it spoiled my day, because I kept thinking all the time what to do. Now I changed to the x2 and life is perfect again. I mount it to my helmet or bike and I enjoy my day. At home I start playing around and I get nice videos. 👍
They are a fabulous way to add interest to even your family vacation. The really cool thing for a family vacation is how many edits you can get out of one video. A regular camera is always pointed at the wrong kid at the zoo when they see something new. Now you don’t need to worry where the camera is pointed and you can pick one kid and focus the entire video on little Johnie then render it. Now go and remove all the pivot points and focus the video on little Suzy and make a new render. Do this as many times as necessary then edit all those clips the way you normally would. You could actually make a family vacation movie that people might want to watch. BTW: If you get an extended selfie stick you can get shots people can’t tell from a drone shot.
Was looking into the cameras for days and one of the point that now makes the sale is what you mentioned at around 5:30. For a hobby, the camera allows you to just record, don't have to bother with pointing it correctly, having smooth trails/transitions and just can enjoy the holiday/hike/dive/sport in the moment. I have seen so many people just spending their holiday behind a lense (and I am talking about phones and ipads) instead of enjoying the moment and think the 360s can give you the best of two worlds. Thanks for pointing that out even if it is kind of obvious
Great video about the One X2. I recently got mine and have been watching tons of videos about it so I can learn to be a better user. Your philosophy about 360 cameras aligns with my feelings and I hope you will consider more 360 One X2 tutorials in the future. Subed !!
I'm just a Grandpa that wants to take fun pics and videos of my grandkids. I have a Osmo Pocket that I love. But, since I don't use it every day, it's hard to get the best "shot" every time or have it set on the best follow mode, spur of the moment. This looks to solve all of those problems. At least now I will have the shot and all I will have to do is edit it, which sometimes can be the most enjoyable part. AND pretty much any kid can hold a selfie stick and film themselves! I will be getting this camera very soon! Btw. Love your videos. Your delivery and honesty are my favorite reasons to view your channel. And yes, please keep reviewing different products!
I purchased my Insta360 One X, version 1 after watching the video that a lady did riding her bike down a bicycle trail. So many cool effects I couldn't believe it. Is it the best video? Heck no! But the possibilities for editing/angles is phenomenal. My big beef was problems with the app. I haven't messed with mine for quite a few months so maybe I should see where is that this point in time. My best videos were done on a PC using their Windows 10 software. I can see how this would be pretty awesome when attached to a drone. You are indeed the guy for that scenario. Have fun with your new toy, and keep us updated.
Thanks for a great video! I have a Mavic Pro and a Inspire 1 and YES I am totally into 360 cams too. Amazing the quality that this camera puts out. Creativity has no bounds with this camera!
Great review. I got the OneX back in the spring of 2020 and started offering VR tours to my clients. Its a great add on service for them and they love it.
I have just taken delivery of an Insta360 One X2 here in Thailand. I am very impressed and hooked NOW... Capturing and publishing lots of Songkhran (Thai New Year) stuff on RUclips.... Which accessories was a issue, but I worked it out and created a video to help others.
I order mine yesterday. I been thinking of getting an action camera for a while. I have a samsung360 camera that came with my phone for free. I still love using it but it's not waterproof. I was thinking of getting the Go pro 9, but I really love how the 360 gets all types of shots at once. This was the best choice for me. It is all I need to get fun and cool shots in many different weather conditions without having to carry all the camera gear. Video was great. Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work!
I have the One X (prev gen) and used it a lot for a trip to France with my daughters two years ago. Mom couldn't come with us, and it was a great way for her to see the sights with us. They are also great for skiing videos with the family.
Was looking around reviews from drone pilots, and went to your channel and surely i found out you had this on review for us drone cinematography enthusiast to see..i’m hanging this on the bottom of my air 2s..👍 will see and try it for myself..
Yes I like the fact that you talk about 360 cameras on this channel. In fact I intend to use a 360 camera under my M3 in order to make a full 360 video of the beautiful 101 islands of Sorel, Quebec. So seeing your opinions on these things helps me a lot. Thanks!
Just ran across you video tonight. Another great review for this camera and I'm really looking at getting this before the end of the year. That truck was amazing looking.
Great video! This type of camera was not even on my radar until I saw your 2021 Holiday Deals video. There will be one of them sitting under the tree this year for my kid. Thanks!!!
I’m one that have used GoPro for years and loved it for my action sports. But I was always looking for more out of it, like better angles of capturing my kids riding bikes. I never was super satisfied. I just purchased the one X2 for this reason my biggest concern was video quality. Like you I wanted it to look good but I had to change my thinking to it was better to get the shot than having the best image quality if that makes sense. I’m so grateful I made the jump I love this new camera it’s a game changer for a guy like me that just wants to document the fun moments in my life.
Russ, I agree completely about this camera and your warning to be careful, the camera could fall off. Mine almost did. I bought the Gouduoduo brand mount for the Mavic 2 pro (good that you didn't provide a link to that type.). There are other name brands that look the same. Before I could launch, the "shock absorbing hanger" lost one of the plastic clips. ABORT. I recorded video as I walked around hand holding the shock mount and then the solid mount and saw no reason to use the first. Maybe there is vibration? I will test the solid connection next time. Flying thru the bridge shows the best reason to use a 360 camera. Thanks for all your time and reviews!
The funny thing is that I don't think most traders realise is that most people don't care if the video quality is top notch Insured on a super expensive camera. Most of us can't really tell the difference. The video that came off of this instant 361X2 looks wonderful and it's very visually entertaining so I think you would naturally get more viewership anyhow. Great video and thanks for the review I definitely will probably upgrade from the original 1X.
Great video Russ, I have been with Insta for a long time and like their products, I recently got the X2 that I'm exploring right now :-) I do wanna say the GoPro Max is not bad either, the stabilization of that one is out of the world
I'm seriously considering getting the One X2. Originally I was going to get the One R Twin, but I think the X2 is a better form factor. I think it would be great to have a camera I don't need to think about how I'm holding it while doing winery tours and walking the vineyards. Or just any other similar footage that I'd use my Osmo Pocket for.
That GMC pickup was nice. Should'ah bought it. Pickups are a hot item right now. I don't think you'd loose much $$ or any, when you drove it off the lot. But hind sight is 20-20 I guess. Really enjoy your videos. I ordered an Insta360 one X2 last Saturday. Was going to order from Amazon but instead ordered from the company website. Didn't know it was in China. So today is Wednesday and my package is in Anchorage, Alaska. BTW I live in central Florida. Just a note of caution for anyone ordering from the 360 website that it will take a while to get here and who knows how you would ever return the product to China. My hindsight this morning is 20-10!!!
Russ, hadn't thought much about a 360 camera until this vlog... yes, keep them coming... also consider doing an episode on editing (tips & tricks)? And it looks like we're interested in the same truck, except I've been looking at the 2500 4x4 w/ the duramax diesel & 10-sp allison trans, but holy crap are they expensive!
I love my GoPro’s but recently bought the One X2 and got a real chance to play around with it recently on a trip and have to say it’s really great. What you can do with it is so much fun. Don’t know why I waited so long to buy a 360 camera
I shoot mountain bike video footage. Most of the time, It's really difficult (sometimes impossible) to get the shot framed right while riding the bike. I bought the original OneX because it makes this a non-issue.
Awesome video. Pretty sure I'm gonna get a One X2 now. Hey that trestle segment after explaining the camera on an MA2... that looks identical to one I used to live near in Salisbury Mills, NY
Welcome to the world of 360 cameras! I used to make transitional style videos for my vlogs, but not long after purchasing an Insta 360 One R, almost all of my videos are now shot in 360 mode. As a result my channel started growing faster than ever before!
I once thought similarly about 360 cameras, very recently, until I watched a video from a biker that demonstrated how he utilized the 360 camera. I've been into cameras and photography for decades, but it wasn't until I watched that video that I even had considered this. Oh, and I don't ride motorcycles either. I know that it will NEVER replace my DSLR for many types of photography, but it's like another tool in the toolbox.
I have the old 'eyeball' Samsung Gear 360 from 3 years ago which would overheat on its own & cause it to lose footages. It's amazing to see how far 360 cameras have come since then, chiefly in the software department. It's crazy!
I bought a OneX when they first came out to get "drone shots" for my hiking videos inside the Smokys. They are so realistic that I get accused of using a drone in the National Park. I finally made a video of how I use it to get drone shots without a drone.
I too was just like you in the beginning of the 360 cams. I just thought they would be too cumbersome and not worth the effort. And, I figured I'd need a SUPER computer to do the editing for post production. But, after watching more and more YT vids of the Insta360 1 x2,,,,,,, WELL, I ordered one Yesterday !!! Wanting to use it for motovlogging / Cycle riding and maybe some mountain biking. Great video Russ !!! 👍👍
Absolutely great video! I have a drone and love it but continue to use my GoPro day to day. I’ve been looking at a 360 camera…this is definitely helpful
hi there from Greece! I am a happy owner of the insta360 one X2 for more than 4 months and i think its the best 360 camera i have ever had. Thanks for full detailed video and the excellent job you are doing. I would like to ask you where can i find a second battery because i cant find anywhere. thanks again
Thank you for your outstanding videos. I have 5 DJI drones, DJI pocket 2, Swellpro Spry Plus and now have one x2 coming tomorrow, heck I got accessories already waiting to use them. All I need is extra Battery and Dual USB Charger to complete my dream. I have PTSD (first Gulf war disable vet) so I use my toys to deal with depression. Once again thank you for your videos , I have learn so much and gain skills and confidence in myself that I can deal with anything in life. Oh I also have a chasing dory sub.. very cool . Thanks again
Great video! I love the invisible selfie stick feature... I want to get the 360 Onex2 along with the DJI pocket 2... If I have both of those in my arsenal I will be unstoppable.
"Pick ups are more of a luxury vehicle"....come to Texas. It's a standard. Like a sedan, only with a cargo bed. I'm originally from the northern parts. When I moved to Texas, a friend said, "get a pick up. You'll never want to drive anything else." 40 years and 4 pick ups later....yeah, he was right. Back to your review. I definitely agree with you; I thought these were initially kinda cheesy as well, but I saw the room for improvement. So I pulled the trigger on this camera today. After watching yours and a few other reviews. While I still think it could be tweaked more, it looks pretty cool enough now. Good one on ya again, Russ.
Another great video. Glad to see you have embraced 360 video shooting. You make a good point about the “fun” factor and creativity potential of 360 cameras. I’d definitely like to see additional reviews about the camera. I commented on another one of your videos that you should explore viewing of 360 videos on VR goggles, like the OCULUS Quest 2, especially for drone video with the camera mounted below the drone. It’s such a unique experience for drone enthusiasts.
Like you I turned my nose up at 360 cameras but finally realized the options it gives one in post! Anyway, I've been subscribed to your channel since before I bought my MA2 but I am now buying this camera so please continue doing vids on it too 😊
Insta360 one X2 is amazing. The style is so much better than One R has the perfect feel. Love to see more shotlab clips. So true insta360 brings the kid back out of us.
I have (2) 360 cam from Samsung for long time but Samsung stop supporting the app on phone. so they end up on my shelve collection. I just bought this Insta360 One X2 and can't wait to play with it. Great video man Thanks
Came here only for GPS hotspots. But you didn’t talk about it. I want a 360 camera for taking auto geo locations with images/videos so that i can use them to combine the whole tour for virtual tours. Please suggest me the best 360 cam for this purpose. I’ll use a vista3D software for compile the tours.
I’m looking to get one of these, I think it would probably be easier to film things without drawing attention to yourself because people don’t know what you are filming as you can be staring in completely the other direction.
Great video where did you buy the little tripod with a motorized head I like how is turning the camera around let me know please where I can buy it Thanks
Thanks for a great review. I own the One X, and I’ve seen tons of reviews to determine whether to upgrade to either the One R or the One X 2, no other review out there mentioned the lag of response on the touch screen. Thanks for that. Also, the One X is definitely top heavy, and that’s how i got one of my lenses scratched 🤦♂️
Great video Russ. Have you used the sticky lens guards since this review? If so how have they been? That’s the only thing that’s holding me back. Also on the fence between this and the Go 2. I know they are vastly different and I could easily use either. Thanks.
Have the lens protectors negatively impacted your footage quality (e.g., glare, stitching, etc.)
@@Nestico87 hi Derek, I do not have the lens protectors on my camera. Only the cap, to protect the lenses while carrying or stowing away. I've read that they have more glare to the footage. But I do not have any experience with it.

Yessir. Ordered mine today to to create 360 videos/tours for clients (class videos, real estate, virtual galleries, etc...)
I used the Pgytech action cam wrist strap mount the One X2 on the bottom of the Mavic Mini. Fit like a champ.

I have the old 'eyeball' Samsung Gear 360 from 3 years ago which would overheat on its own & cause it to lose footages. It's amazing to see how far 360 cameras have come since then, chiefly in the software department. It's crazy!
Love this coverage im deliberating on this x2 and the new 360rs
I really like the Shadow feature!!!!!
I would like to see an in depth review and test drive of this camera!!!
hi there from Greece!
Yes, more videos on 360 photography!
Amazing! I am about to buy One X2. Thanks!
Thank you I bought a 1x2 for my air 2s the bracket was an issue looked everywhere for one 😎
More of 360 please. Mainly about that X2.
Anyway, I've been subscribed to your channel since before I bought my MA2 but I am now buying this camera so please continue doing vids on it too 😊
Will do!
Insta360 one X2 is amazing. The style is so much better than One R has the perfect feel. Love to see more shotlab clips. So true insta360 brings the kid back out of us.
The big question is....whats the big selling point to the GMC truck?
Great information big upgrades on that Insta360 One X2. Thanks for sharing!
Wow. Had no idea that the mavic can hold this. Game changer.
Good video Russ and interesting footage. The 360 is very interesting.
I would like to see more videos on the 360 camera for sur. you do such great tutorials on your channel. Keep up the great work!
Use this as a vlogging/travel camera? Like dji pocket 2?
Great, comprehensive review. Thank you! I’m 100% sold now! (Hobbyist photographer, but love making tiny clips of my day trips)
Thank you
I have (2) 360 cam from Samsung for long time but Samsung stop supporting the app on phone. so they end up on my shelve collection. I just bought this Insta360 One X2 and can't wait to play with it. Great video man Thanks
Apart from the ultra wide lens, how does it compare with Dji Pocket? Thanks
on your fly through example 12:45 where is this location?? thanks in advance
Excellent camera review. Keep 360 camera videos coming. 👍🏼
Thanks, will do!
Yes, I like your casual way to present tech. Easy to digest ;-)
I’m looking to get one of these, I think it would probably be easier to film things without drawing attention to yourself because people don’t know what you are filming as you can be staring in completely the other direction.
But if you use it with the selfie stick, you will draw attention.
Great video where did you buy the little tripod with a motorized head I like how is turning the camera around let me know please where I can buy it
Thanks
Thanks for video, it will be great as well if we get video like this for Insta360 Go 2, looking forward to it
Great video.. Best review of this camera only on your channel.
How's the app? People say if very buggy
I personally would enjoy more camera videos from you, as I'm always researching and trying to learn about cameras for my own video use. 👍
Great video!!
I am planning on getting one of those someday...
Greetings from Rio, Brazil.......
what is the name of the product that mounts insta 360 to your drone?
Thanks for a great review. I own the One X, and I’ve seen tons of reviews to determine whether to upgrade to either the One R or the One X 2, no other review out there mentioned the lag of response on the touch screen. Thanks for that.
Also, the One X is definitely top heavy, and that’s how i got one of my lenses scratched 🤦♂️
Can you tell me have you made a video for the mini 2 on gimbal settings? What are the best speeds for yaw and etc.
Great video Russ. Have you used the sticky lens guards since this review? If so how have they been? That’s the only thing that’s holding me back. Also on the fence between this and the Go 2. I know they are vastly different and I could easily use either. Thanks.
Great review Russ. Glad to see this kind of content on your channel. Nice to see some footage of your North Edition too!! 👍
first really good review with stuff for people like me! thanks
I had the original Samsung Gear 360 and this is a very impressive upgrade!
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
