Thanks my friend. Appreciate the views and am super glad you enjoy the Time Attack vids. My favorite to do for sure. Will have enough content to get us through most of the winter as well.
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC wicked man. I'm very new to RC. For some reason it was something I convinced myself from a young age was too expensive for me. Me and my son got a Deerc 300e off Amazon, and aside from the horrible clearances between all the gears it's been a lot of fun. I'm thinking about starting a grasshopper build soon or possibly a lunchbox. The build process and beautiful detail is super appealing.
@@BigDumbMeRC Lunchbox is a great build and so much darn fun! Wheelies for days! Also a great bonding experience. Will never forget building my 1st RC with my pop in 85. Had a great time build a few with my daughter as well.
I only found your videos in the last month or so but I have really enjoyed them. As someone who had no rc car exposure growing up until the 7th grade with a radio shack truck then in 10th grade with a nitro evader it really makes me wish this hobby was something I could have experienced the fun I have since found. My most vintage car is a super hornet that I found in a thrift shop. Keep up the fun and good look with your channel
Thanks for an entertaining and educational video, cable cam is cool. Perfect video after just finished assembling my very first Tamiya, the Neo Fighter - not being the last 😃
Great video as always! You could see on the track the Hornet didn’t look as composed as the Grasshopper. Your explanation makes complete sense and I can’t wait to see if the 380 in the hornet is the magic combo. Footage was rockin and enjoy the fall!
I could hardly breathe on the throttle...Then to make matters worse...it gets all tweaked in the air. Handful of a car to say the least my friend. Thanks for the support.
Great video. I've never owned a hornet but I started back in 84 with a grasshopper and still own one today. The only hop up I've done is the 540. Lol Driving old Tamiya's always puts a smile on my face. 😁
Great video and great channel. Grasshopper and Hornet are absolutely classic. Can't wait to see other time attack with others vintage cars (I love vintage cars especially Tamiya even i never had one till recently ;) ). Keep sharing: you deserve many many more subs.
If the track had longer straights there would have been a major difference in time I'm sure the tires I do think add a little more control for that motor because they get better traction on that surface than the the grasshopper would and the RC elf got me a super hot shot. Hope you'll be getting one of those and putting it along the track see what it does if you have one.
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC see when I was a teenager I had this car and I just wanted it back just like I wanted my hornet and the fighter book the RX memorial edition which actually isn't quite the same car but is the same car because of the body color and rims that are gold I would buy the fighter buggy RX original version again even though it had friction difference but it handled just as well if not better than the super hornet because of the way the shocks lay on the car in the back.
Thanks so much! Was a loaner gopro 8...so hopefully I can get it again or find a sale on one.I tried one of those knock off ones but you need actual working image stability for the shot to look good. I was planning on the ultima rere next BUT have had more than one request for the Frog (so that will most likely be next).
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC I got a hornet as a kid in 87. I Threw it away a few years ago I had no idea they were still makeing them otherwise I would have kept it. I just ordered 2 grasshoppers. Even though I think the hornet is a better value I always wanted the grasshopper for some reason.
Its a piece of junk but I have found some fun in it lol. I just did a video comparing hornet and radio radio shack running a small track in sand, most defineatly has understeer lol
Well...it's definitely more toy grade over some of the other Tamiya cars but I have no harsh words for it...lol. The car that started this crazy R/C infatuation for me.
Loving it.
sweet video, I love the comparison narration with the grasshopper.
This is becoming a new series for me to binge. Love the time trials!

Super Hornet is a cool car! Super happy you enjoy the vids. Rock on!
Great to still see new videos pop up regularly on this awesome little 1984 bug!
What a backyard! Love your detail analysis on the cornering and jumps👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the video!
You produce top content my friend, really enjoyable to watch 🤩👊🏻
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words and the help/advice. Your videos are one of the reasons we started doing this.🤘
Great video. Loving this new track...wish my back yard was big enough for a track.
Thanks brother. I am glad you enjoyed it. New space is really fun and I am enjoying the multi surface big time.

Congrats! Neo is a cool buggy. Might need to pick up at some point myself.
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC I wonder why it’s the cheapest buggy, seems like it drives better than many of the other 2wd for a lower price
@@LyhneRC Think they knew what they were doing with the smaller motor. Betting a 380 Hornet will kill it out here.
Great video . I found the best place I’ve run a hornet is in very loose sand .
Plan on doing a beach trip next spring with a few classics!

The space and size of the track had an impact for sure. I do have a few of the 4wd cars. Plan on running them at some point. Love Hotshot series cars.

GREAT VIDEO, AND CAMERA WORK!
Thank you so much!
I think the correct motor for the Hornet, is the sport tuned 380.
Great video and filming
There was nothing in it Very close.👍😃
Scary close...Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it!
Putting that 380 in the Hornet would make a great new video!
Great video! Loved the cable cam; hope to see more footage from it in future videos. Nice analysis at the end. What car will run next?

How wide are the tracks?
Now I want to get mine finished up!
Id like to see the hornet and the hopper running 380 sport tune motors and see if the suspension and tire upgrades help the hornet.
Have that in the works actually! Minimally we will run a Hornet.
