Thus Spoke Zarathustra, a symphonic poem by Richard Strauss based on the eponymous book by philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, is monumental. At that time, the choice of the work had sparked considerable controversy and led many musicians and spectators to doubt the morality of Richard Strauss. In this novel with aphorisms, Nietzsche indeed engages in a ruthless critique of his time. He expresses through the character of the prophet Zarathustra his rejection of religion and democracy, condemning human values such as tolerance, submission, humility and compassion because they do not do not differentiate between strengths and weaknesses. This view reinforced Strauss's agnostic beliefs and his faith in the ability of the individual to change the world around him. The composer considered the book more as a source of inspiration taking up the theme of human value. The result is an impressive work for organ and large orchestra subdivided into nine sections. The introductory movement refers to the prologue in which Zarathustra contemplates the sunrise after leaving his comfort and his family. The imposing image of the rising sun is embodied in a pure melody in C major. The theme of nature occupies a central place and is taken up first by the trumpets, then by the entire orchestra. A dialogue between minor and major is formed and develops. The musical interpretation reflects the doubt and astonishment which invade the human being when he contemplates the sublime mystery of nature. Symbols of the human intellect, the reinforcing timpani end with a powerful C major chord on the organ, which lingers for a moment as a final confirmation of the symbiosis between man and nature. *Lucien*

Wonderful powerful performance. One of the best ones I've ever heard. BUT...BUT...BUT... cut in the moment I was just waiting for a magic moment, that never came. A pity😢. You're wonderful and Sir Pappano is pure heart in music. THANKS SOOO MUCH!!!

Not the only problem. The acoustics have been improved but are still below par with the best European and American Halls.
