That was exactly how I felt about Vinnie’s death. Sure, he was annoying in Max Payne 1 and a lot of us hated his guts, but I was actually starting to like him in Max Payne 2. Such a shame what happened to him.
For a gangster scumbag who was known for beating up call-girls, after that mission where he wears Captain Baseball Bat Boy costume, I kinda felt bad for Vinnie in the end. He lost most of his crew, and could've sold his stuff and get rich and maybe go legit.
Can't imagine he would be much use without his mobsters. In both games he just let his men do the job while he ran away like a chicken. Still,there's a mod for 2 where he survives and he joins the final level to fight against Vlad's men with you and Mona
Anyone else think that Vinnie’s offer to help Max with Vladimir Lem was genuine? Considering the fact that Lem taped bombs to vinnies head and put him in a goofy costume. And how horrible Lem was to him too. Not to mention the fact that Vinnie was terrified of max and that he would most likely not get away with double crossing max.
He complains much, but I gotta admit, he's quite a favorite because... 1: He basically ran and survived the first game despite having a very bad gut wound. "It's Fear that Gives Men Wings" indeed, Mr. Payne! 2: His collection of Baseball Bat Boy memorabilia can be quite relatable to a lot of folks in fandoms. Alas, why must destroying said collection be a sort of achievement in the second game? 3: His voice actors, Joe Dallo and Fred Berman, nailed the guy and his cocky and brash personality. 4, and **SPOILERS**: His death near the end of the second game sure is surprisingly tragic and pointless. He was already down on the count, so why the need to put him down so coldly in such an overkill manner?!
@@Tengohueva88 Vlad during car ride with Max, a little earlier in the game, said the costume was his "trojan horse". Based on that we can assume that he gave Vinnie the costume as a gift and he wore it not knowing the bomb was hidden in the giant head.
@@Envicted_Edits Probably phonecall from Vlad. If Vlad would have wanted Vinnie dead, he would just sent his killer squad of cleaner to do the job. Vlad wanted Vinnie humiliated. So my guess is, after Vinnie got the costume and put it on, Vlad called him to tell that he holds his life in his hands. Again, those are just my assumptions, but I think it all make sense.
It's hilarious, I'd watch my dad playing this as a 2-3yo kid, and also see glimpses of him watching The Sopranos, so I thought the two were interlinked by the way the mob guys all look in the game 😂
