It all sounds well and good, but "The Chosen" is produced by Mormons. “The Chosen” is distributed by partner Angel Studios, a streaming video company that was co-founded by brothers Neal and Jeffrey Harmon, who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I addition to that we have a devout Catholic playing Jesus....heresy! They were mostly servants not slaves!

This is one of the things I love about this show. There is so much in the bible that fits with this narrative. There are subtle statements and if not sensitive to the meaning are completely missed. I have found this to be more true than I could ever have imagined. Like Jesus in the upper room. The assumption is made that he just came in, walked, but that is not what it says. It says he appeared. That is something totally different.

Thank you Brandon for another interesting story. It is so much helpful to understand not only "The Chosen" better, but the Bible better. I expected that to help someone with the sandals was a diry job, somehow humiliating. But did not know it was considred kind of automaticaly to place yourself in a social hierarchy below a slave.

Just a great lesson for everyone of ALL religions today. So many trash talk other religions, as though they're better than they are. Like Brandon said, the Savior came for ALL people. Every person on earth are sinners. We all need our Savior every minute of every day. I think more of us need to remember the second commandment. Thank you Brandon for this insight and reminder.

I have been riveted to The Chosen since I learned of its existence between Christmas and New Year of 2022-23. I am in the clutches of a state of mystery driven awareness of a kind of love that I never even dreamed of prior to this work. I want to take a moment to thank you for your work on highlighting the significance of the small nuances that I would surely have missed had you not been waving your flashlight around on them for us to see. Your explanation of the slave and owner mentality is very well explained. It's a shame that mankind carried this same autrocious attitude to the New World colonies, America, and subjected people to slave status, and to this same less-than-people, property-only status. Consider the number of years between Jesus's time on Earth and our centurirs here of slvery. We haven't learned a thing. That is truly sad.
