I believe in the name of Jesus.
You might translate, not just "Jesus" but also "I believe in the name". Jisu to some, Yesu to some, Yesuye to some according to different regions of the world may be His name is different but all referring to the same who died on the cross for us, The Son Of God. And His name is powerful. Where they prayed using their preferred language name...demons still flees and sicks gets well. Let's not argue the name and let people have their simple faith.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

      *Exodus 3:13-15*
13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, *‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’* and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am." This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘ *The Lord, the God of your fathers* - *the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob* -has sent me to you.’
      “This is my name forever,
the name you shall call me

      *Romans 8*
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

@Kevin Belgrove I can't help but respond. Proverbs 26:4-5, Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes. The self-confident fool thinks too highly of himself and his opinions, and he shares them freely. You say, "Only a person who has accepted and strictly follows the teachings of Yahushua Ha'Mashiach are the true Yahudiym. As for me I am a true Yahudi". You sound just like a Pharisee, those that Yahushua apposed. You say, "My bloodline is in Yahushua who died and who lives in me". No, your bloodline is of Adam, born into a sinful nature. You say, "Unless a person is a Yahudi they cannot be saved". No, "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast".… i.e. Kevin Belgrove. Ephesians 2:8,9. You say, "A true Yahudi who is saved is filled with the Ruach Ha'Qodesh not the fake greek version the Holy Ghost. Not everyone speaks your language "Kevin". If Ruach Ha'Qodesh means Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost or whatever He is called in other languages, why do we need to speak yours? Must the believers in Mexico, China, Spain, Sweden, Greece, Holland, etc. say they are filled with Ruach Ha'Qodesh?! Must all of the believers around the world speak your language? They believe in the God of the Bible (wait, should I not be allowed to use the word, "bible"? Or should I say Sepharim?) See how ridiculous I sound? I live in America and speak English, although I was born and raised during my childhood in Europe. I don't know if you read or believe in God's / Yahuah's word, the bible, or you believe in the Torah. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, or "Yahuchanon" as you call it. Study the Pharisees. Listen to how Yahushua interacts with them. You will see your reflection in them, your bloodline, your arrogance. Just like them, you make it difficult for people to enter the kingdom of heaven. You strain at a gnat, yet you swallow a camel. Humble yourself before God before He humbles you. You say. "Only a person who has accepted and strictly follows the teachings of Yahushua Ha'Mashiach are the true Yahudiym". Sounds like you will make it into heaven because of your works, your efforts, and your strict rules. All I can say is "good luck with that", because at this point all you have is luck on your side. P.s. Please don't answer with a lengthy history lesson on how the original text was and how words were taken out and replaced. I had two Mormons Elders (in their early twenties) come to my house one time, trying to preach a different gospel (just like what you're doing). They said that the bible (that they were carrying btw) was only true if it was accurately written. That over many centuries it has lost a lot of the original text (same song you are singing) so Joseph Smith created his own bible, the book of Mormon. They said, that the original text in the bible said that you have to be at least 8 years old in order to be baptized but it's no longer there. I said, how do you know it was in there if it was lost in the first place? They ended up leaving because they were confused. Satan is the father of confusion. The gospel is as simple that a child can understand. The yoke you put on people is not of my Heavenly Father, As you say it, "these are all the inventions of Satan".

@Kevin Belgrove I call on the name Yeshua and He heales. Here I am, a walking miracle after the doctors gave up and wrote me off 35 years ago.
I have seen the deaf healed many times and I have seen legs grow by the authority of Yeshua.
I know of ignorant people praying for miracles and Yeshua honoured their prayer. Because it is not the perfection in which we pronounce a name, but the pureness of heart that Yeshua honours.
I can't forget the person who heared about anointing the sick with oil. He prayed for the healing of a lady with cancer and he said that he needed oil to anoint the lady as the scripture says to anoint the sick with oil. He came back with a gallon of dirty, black motor oil. And instead of just dipping his finger and placing a speck of oil on her forehead, he emptied all the oil over her head, and desroyed her white dress. Many of the people left in disgust. The next day the lady returned and she was completely healed from the cancer.
Yes, he was ignorant and you can say that he did not have a clue what he was doing, but Yeshua saw his heart and his obedience to God's written word, and Yeshua answered his prayer. Yeshua answers prayer of an availabe person with a pure heart. None of us are professionals. Only Yeshua is a professional.
What has the gospel taught you about results? How much does Yeshua have of you, which He can put to use? Are you a vessel used by Him?
It does not help using interesting sounding names if Yeshua does not use you.
How much of you has He used?

@Mitzi Rascal That’s confusing because according to scriptures the MessiYAH is Hebrew. According to scriptures God is the God of Israel. And scripture say he won’t forget his people, his people
      Meaning the children of Israel.
If Jesus is Hebrew and his name is Yahusha why change the name to
Jesus and not Joshua? If my name is Maria and I move to America my name won’t be Mary I still will be call Maria. It’s the name for me why change the name and then give us a false picture of him. Now I’m wondering what else is false in the scriptures.
I will forever live my life as God/YAHUAH and his Indwelling Ruach/Holy Spirit leads me.

His mother and father obviously knew He was special, but His teachings only started after he was babtized as a 30 year old man and only then the Holy Spirit came down on Him like a dove. And only then He started His mission to heal the sick, preach the truth, etc.

Jesus died when He was 33 so I don’t understand the old man with the gray beard. Also, the Shroud gives us a good idea. He was 5’11”, 175 pounds, long hair, shortish beard. I think the historic paintings of Jesus were divinely inspired and are pretty close. The first image, in my opinion, is closer to an accurate depiction. That shows a tall thin man around the age of 33 and a beard. Regarding the Tefillin, Jesus criticizes the Pharisees for wearing them in Matthew 23:5. And there is no record of Jesus wearing them. Jesus also said to pray in private, to go into your room and shut the door. Matthew 6:5-6. That would make wearing the Tefillin the opposite of what he is preaching.

He would have been a Karaite Jew and not a Purishim, he always argued written Scripture and you seem him constantly slammimg the purishim for favoring their talmudical or any oral tradition/traditions of the elders over the written word of God. Always 100% He did not care much at all for talmudical arguments or oral tradition and always backed up with the written scripture only. There is an amazing video on this by a Jew by the name of Nehemia Gordon, who isn't messianic at all which give him a unique perspective which I believe to be very objective. ( I myself AM a messianic follower of Jesus/Yeshua) I believe the video and book is called The greek Jesus vs the Hebrew Yeshua gives his explanations for his conclusion very well..
I personally doubt the Lord made a habit of wearing tefellin as that is a man made tradition and a rabbinical application of a plain text, rituallized into a tradition by the purishim (pharisees) who are the direct progenitors of today's Rabbinical Orthodoxy.. I don't think he was against it, I just don't think he regarded everything that the schools had to offer in oral traditions. Why not, these are after all the same oral tradition that accuses him of being a sorcerer, the same traditions he argued with that were "shutting up the gates of heaven against those what want to enter" and "who don't even enter themselves. The same he spoke of when he said "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?" After all HE WROTE the law, the rabbis did not yet presume to understand it more than anyone. There are tons and tons and tons of tractates and volumes upon volumes of oral law codified, while interesting to read, are not at all anything Jesus put stake in - quite the contrary.

Great Video! Something to note, the Sanhedrin had 70 members mostly Pharasees, but the 70 did not meet in a normal court of law to convict Jesus. The group who illegally put Him on trial were mainly Sadducees such as Ciaphas ans Annas and others who met at night and even had contradictory witnesses. The mock trial had several violations which any one of them would have had the case dismissed. Had the full Sanhidrin met, they would have debated and probably not convicted Jesus because you would have had Nicodemus, Joseph of Aramethia and others defending Jesus.

Reading all these comments is very sad. I agree with you, I don't think Jesus looked like what the Renaissance painting portrayed him as. Pale, blue eyed, frail and unhappy. I think He was olive skinned as other people of this country would be, dark eyes, not frail at all as his occupation was pretty physical and I think Jesus was very happy, joyful and full of life. I think He would have worn His tallit and pretty sure anything else His Hebrew teaching had at that time. I don't think He rehearsed the sermon though. In Matthew it says Jesus saw the crowds gathering and He went up on the mountainside and sat down and began to teach them. Perhaps they were questioning Him. But I feel it was spontaneous. I don't agree with everything The Chosen has portrayed about Him. Although I feel their Jesus is pretty close to the real one. Thank you for your teachings! I appreciate all you do!

This was a VERY good presentation. All this should have been presented all Christendom centuries ago, and carried on to this day. The study of these Jewish traditions (of pre-Christian Jewish practices) should be part of all Christian studies.
That said, Mary going along with Jesus' other relatives (who were startled or upset by His stepping forward as a teacher) does not necessarily indicate Mary, too, was opposing Jesus publically teaching. It is just as possible she was brought along by them as the only family member whom they thought could and would get him to be silenced. This does not mean she felt the same way as those relatives, or "backed their play," if you will.

So many paintings portray Jesus as a man probably in his 50s-60s, leading a group of sagely looking gentlemen, many of which with white hair, so likely in their 60s-70s.
Except Jesus died somewhere between 30-33 years old. Pretty common for people that age to still be living with their parents. And the apostles were writing their books over the next few decades, with John writing Revelation around the 35 years after Jesus died... if he was in his 70s following Jesus around, he'd be well into his 100s to write that book... theoretically possible, but pretty unlikely.
Jesus didn't pick elders and sages. He was followed by some rather rough people, fishermen, tax collectors, sinners and had prostitutes... they were probably mostly in their 20s-30s as well.

I appreciate your approach and insight, though I don't agree with all of it. For example, it is doubtful that Jesus wore the Teffilin. Not all men would wear these, but those who were of certain sects of the Jews. While the Jews developed these customs of "wearing" the scripture, it is clear that it is never a commandment but that of a symbolic nature in that the Word of God was to be within our minds (forehead), put into action (upon our hands). Again, I do appreciate what you have shared.

I love your attempts to bring us closer to the truth. It's a neverending journey, I also learned a few things in this video.
However, I still feel you make assumptions here and there. "It's like that... " ... "Since other kids did this 'n that, Jesus probably also ..." etc.
Fact is that we no almost nothing of him between age 12..30, and from other sources it seems that he has travelled a lot. Besides that, he was born from Nazarene parents, so he wasn't like average Jewish kids anyway. We are tempted to assume that all people living in a country at a certain point in time share the same culture, but we simply don't know. I live in quite a small country (the Netherlands) but I see so many subcultures here! All different ways of clothing, talking and certainly common sense differs. In Jesus time there were Farisees, Saducees, Essenes/Nazarenes and other sects, and people were not all descendents of the same Jewish tribes (out of the 12). Reality is likely to be soooooo much more complex than we will ever know. His ways were probably too liberal for most Jewish people since he was a Nazarene; "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?"

Then later, when I was an evangelist to the nations, and pastor and Bishop for several decades I started writing everything down too when I first started and I just preached from my notes. Then later just made a basic outline and let Holy Spirit fill in the rest. Then later just prayed and allowed God to fill me and speak thru me. Bcz Over the years as I learned the Bible inside and out and prayed nonstop I was a walking Bible and sermon. Since then I never had to write anything down again. I just preach from the spirit as I go. I’ve preached thousands of sermons all over the world and on our radio program ever since.

Well I truly enjoyed this. And thanks a lot. It didn't really change how I see or have seen Jesus that much. It only pointed out more reason why he was different from others and more light to some questions I had about him. Now I see why he is actually seen as the true son of God. He was truly different. I'm certain he didn't have old looking face at 33 though and we are part of his extended family since he said in that same scripture that whoever obeys him is his brother and sister and mother,if you like. but yet your research has helped clear doubts in my mind. Jesus is truly the son of God. A carpenter, master of all laws, moderate in character, progressive with the law, wise and obedient and with teachings that is changing the whole world no Rabbi could've done likewise or had the authority he had. Even though he clearly came as human he stood out amongst all Rabbi, teachers and so on, I always asked, why? . The true nature of our lord and saviour. Over the course of my life on average I had a study the scriptures period and there had been times in my life when I have it but I have studied them fairly diligently period however learning about the basic Jewish scriptural training system all boys men to has convicted inspired me to be far greater a student of the scriptures. Perhaps we too should commit entire books of the Bible to memory. As twenty-first-century Protestants we tended to be very lackadaisical towards the pentateuch but I think that should change. I've been feeling for a long time it is of the utmost importance to read the Bible in the original languages if it all possible. Otherwise I heard one Seminary Professor describe it is eating pre-chewed food. It used to be incredibly common a century or more ago for most if not all educated men to read Greek and Hebrew so they could read the Classics for themselves and especially the scriptures.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON OF JESUS - from Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Caesar
This is a reprinting of a letter from Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Caesar describing the physical appearance of Jesus. Copies are in the Congressional Library in Washington, D.C.
    TO TIBERIUS CAESAR:
A young man appeared in Galilee preaching with humble unction, a new law in the Name of the God that had sent Him. At first I was apprehensive that His design was to stir up the people against the Romans, but my fears were soon dispelled. Jesus of Nazareth spoke rather as a friend of the Romans than of the Jews. One day I observed in the midst of a group of people a young man who was leaning against a tree, calmly addressing the multitude. I was told it was Jesus. This I could easily have suspected so great was the difference between Him and those who were listening to Him. His golden colored hair and beard gave to his appearance a celestial aspect. He appeared to be about 30 years of age. Never have I seen a sweeter or more serene countenance. What a contrast between Him and His bearers with their black beards and tawny complexions! Unwilling to interrupt Him by my presence, I continued my walk but signified to my secretary to join the group and listen. Later, my secretary reported that never had he seen in the works of all the philosophers anything that compared to the teachings of Jesus. He told me that Jesus was neither seditious nor rebellious, so we extended to Him our protection. He was at liberty to act, to speak, to assemble and to address the people. This unlimited freedom provoked the Jews -- not the poor but the rich and powerful.
Later, I wrote to Jesus requesting an interview with Him at the Praetorium. He came. When the Nazarene made His appearance I was having my morning walk and as I faced Him my feet seemed fastened with an iron hand to the marble pavement and I trembled in every limb as a guilty culprit, though he was calm. For some time I stood admiring this extraordinary Man. There was nothing in Him that was repelling, nor in His character, yet I felt awed in His presence. I told Him that there was a magnetic simplicity about Him and His personality that elevated Him far above the philosophers and teachers of His day.
Now, Noble Sovereign, these are the facts concerning Jesus of Nazareth and I have taken the time to write you in detail concerning these matters. I say that such a man who could convert water into wine, change death into life, disease into health; calm the stormy seas, is not guilty of any criminal offense and as others have said, we must agree -- truly this is the Son of God.
    Your most obedient servant,
    Pontius Pilate

Why would the word itself have that block strapped to his forehead? Jesus was the living Word itself. Jesus was all knowing, Jesus was and is God. On this young man I totally disagree with you. Jesus mind wasn't like our minds at all and as Isaiah 55:8 declares was nothing like anything you could imagine nor even comprehend. To this teaching I totally disagree with you. This is the very Christ Jesus warned about in Matthew 24 to stay far away from. This I will not nor will.not agree even to disagree. Jesus knew the word since Jesus was and wrote the word itself. Jesus breathed RUAH upon his disciples to know the word and breathed upon them the Holy Spirit. Honestly this is taught in new age teachings which I departed from this unitarian beliefs yrs ago.

I think ONE reason for the lack of a visual description of Jesus in the Bible is that we can picture him in our minds as a reflection of the qualities we associate with him.
The fact that we Europeans (may) imagine him to be more like us also has something to do with the fact that this appearance is more familiar to us and therefore generates both familiarity and trust.
if it had mattered to God that we "see" him for what he actually looked like, he SURELY would have provided a description.

At about 13:00 you mentioned His "cloak" or Talit (it's actually pronounced Taleet) and is also known as a "Prayer Shawl." Jewish men then as now, would and still do pull this Talit up over their head while in prayer. The Talit has 4 tassles on them and the one in front has a single blue thread in it to represent God. This is the tassle that the woman would have grabbed. The "Tephilim" (again "Tephileem") is now called Phylacteries. They're small black boxes w/a copy of the Law inside of them or at least the 10 Commandments part of the Law. They wore one over their forehead and one on (I think) the right arm which is why it is referred to in the plural. Did you also know that a tiny bit of wine was mixed into the water to kill bacteria? They didn't have purified water then like we do now.

Starting off with “what if" and "there could be…” is basically saying, I have no evidence but use your imagination. That is dangerous speculation, too much Eisegesis in your dissertation. 10 facts? no, more like 10 suppositions.
    Let's look:
    1. Jesus rehearsed sermons. Jesus (Yahweh) wrote the law and spoke to the prophets. He wouldn’t need to memorize. They are His words.
    2. Family problems? Mark 3:21. “Out of His mind” literally means; showing someone as flabbergasted. In other words, "why would He stay ministering in this pressing crowd? Is He crazy?"
    3. School - okay…still speculation but okay.
    4. People memorized the scriptures. That is correct.
    5. More than the 12? Jesus had many followers but only 12 disciples who were with Him since John’s baptism. According to the the Hebrew Bible, there were 12 tribes of Israel. Jesus mirrored that number when He chose 12 disciples to represent a new covenant between God and His children. It was the 12 that He gave authority to in Matthew 10. It was the 12 who stood up to preach in Acts 2, and it is the 12 listed in Revelation 21:14 as being the foundation of the new Jerusalem. No brainer.
    6. Female disciples - it was obvious that many women were among Jesus’ followers. If you want to give them a title, that’s up to you.
    7. Other rabbis teachings: Sure. Jesus quoted a jewish proverb in Luke 4:23. Paul quoted 5 pagan poets. This was typical.
    8. Jesus’ occupation: This only matters in light of Hebrews 11:10, and 1 Peter 2:5
    9. Dancing and drinking: Jumping and leaping in Luke 10:21, Drinking? Maybe in Luke 7:33-44 but no proof.
    10. His clothing: The Tzitzit? Perhaps. The Teffilin? This is pure speculation and I’ll tell you why…(I’ll will try to keep it simple for the sake of space…)
Let’s look at the Teffilin and see the who’s and why’s.
The purpose of the tefillin are to serve as a reminder of Yahweh’s intervention at the time of the Exodus from Egypt.
Tefillin refers to either of the two small leather capsules containing tiny slips of parchment inscribed with the scriptural passages recorded inside.
    They are:
Exodus 13:1-10, which references what Yahweh said to Moses upon coming out of Egypt.
Exodus 13: 11-16, Yahweh continues to reference what He wanted them to do upon going into the land of the Canaanites.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9, This is the Sh’ma.
    Deuteronomy 6:13-21. (Which says…)
13 You shall fear your God Yahweh and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name.
You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you for your God Yahweh is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.
16 “You shall not tempt your God Yahweh as you tempted Him in Massah.
17 You shall diligently keep the commandments of your God Yahweh, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.
18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of Yahweh, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers, 19 to cast out all your enemies from before you, as Yahweh has spoken.
20 “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which Yahweh your God has commanded you?’
    21 then you shall say to your son: ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;
NOTE: I used the divine name “Yahweh” because this is how it reads in the Hebrew. The king James translators transliterated it, or replaced it throughout with "Lord or God" so it would mean something else.
Now you need to ask yourself these three questions:
    1st Question:
Who brought Israel out of Egypt?
The answer is simple. According to Exodus 23:20-23
20 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for HE WILL NOT PARDON YOUR TRANSGRESSIONS; for MY NAME IS IN HIM .
This is the Malak Adoni or The Angel or messenger of the Lord; who is none other than Jesus.
    Jude 1:5
(ESV, also in the original greek)
5 Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that JESUS, who saved this people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
    2nd Question:
    Was Jesus God (Yahweh) incarnate?
    Let’s let the scriptures answer:
    John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
    Philippians 2:5-11
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
    Colossians 1:15-16
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
    John 6:38

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

    John 10:30
I and My Father are one.’
So that would be a definite “yes”.
    3rd question:
If the purpose of the Teffilin was to serve as a reminder of Yahweh’s intervention at the time of the Exodus from Egypt, and the enclosed verses are to be cited in prayers…and since Jesus is Yahweh...
Why would he be praying to Himself? ( He would have to if He wore a teffilfin.)
Jesus IS the visible Yahweh… (Also known as the anointed one, the Christ, the Messiah, the Rock, etc.)
The Father is the invisible Yahweh
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Yahweh, seen in the form of a man in Ezekiel 8 & Luke 3:22 (He is not a bird)
    Isaiah 45:22-25
“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness, a word that shall not return: "To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance." Only in Yahweh, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed
all who were incensed against him. In Yahweh all the offspring of Israel
shall be justified and shall glory.”
Why would Jesus rebuke the pharisees for their phylacteries in Matthew23:5? (Not saying that wearing of teffilfin was bad, but for the wrong reasons.)
The idea that Jesus (God incarnate) dressed as the other rabbis and prayed to Himself stems from the roman catholic deception of the shroud of Turin. Which is an entirely different post.
Stay away from watching “The Chosen”, it will screw up your theology and lead you astray.
These are all issues that, in my opinion; steal focus away from Christ and our walk with Him, and get people to chase after the peripheral things.
    James 3:1
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

You know many artists have portrayed Jesus of Nazareth as they imagined him to look. However, it doesn't make them wrong because some have made Jesus more real by their inspired artistic portraits. Warner Solman's is just one example. It is a wonderful portrait that has inspired many people to see the beauty of the divinity and humanity of Jesus. That's enough for me. Why does what one might receive spiritual blessing from have to be explained away by multiplying words and quenching the presence of the Holy Spirit in art? After all none of us really were there when Jesus walked the roads of the occupied people who suffered under the Romans and their political and religious allies.

Painters of the past (and even present) often paint Jesus as someone of their own culture -- so we get a lot of white, European-looking Jesus portraits. But he was a Jewish man of the 1st Century AD, and likely didn't look anything like our European-ized pictures. I think it's important -- massively important -- we recognize his Jewishness, the fact that he was Middle-eastern. But if a certain representation brings someone peace and makes them feel closer to Him, then I don't think it's "wrong" in that sense. Ethnically inaccurate, perhaps.

This is why, as a Christian, I will not wear a crucifix, but I wear the Star of David because:
    1. Jesus was a Jew. I relate more to that fact because the Old Testament, the Torah and other Books, Psalm, the Prophets etc, AND the New Testament all weave together as the Word of God - YHWH. The entire Word of God is precious, timeless and as relevant as tomorrow's news.
    2. Jesus isn't ON the cross now. Another reason for not wearing a crucifix. He rose from the dead on 3rd day after his death.
I do wear a small, plain cross (not a crucifix) with the Star of David, to honour Jesus' sacrifice as our Passover Lamb and to honour His blood, shed for my salvation.

How do you get to hell?
Very simple: claim that you're innocent.
How do you get to heaven?
Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy.
How to know if you're guilty or not?
Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible.
Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police.
    Do not lie.
    Do not steal.
    Do not commit adultery.
Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word.
There are six more but let's just leave it at that.
How many lies have you told in your life?
Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you?
Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman.
How many times a day do you do that?
Do you use God's name as a cuss word?
Would you do that with your own mother's name?
If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty.
God can justly punish you and send you to hell.
    Ask him for mercy.
    His name is Jesus.
It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine.
    The fine is death.
    Ezekiel 18:20 -
"The soul who sins shall die.
That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy.
    Option A.
You die for your own sins.
    Option B.
Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you.

Jesus didn't need to rehearse a sermon because He was relying on the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The same way He told the disciples not to worry about what to say when they get arrested or stand before people, because the Holy Spirit would give them words. We experience that all the time with being promoted with verses or to lead a conversation in another direction.

Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. Hi Marie, be VERY careful about those types of stories. The one you mentioned (as well as all the others) are fake. People publish and talk about those things to make money. LOTS of money! About the book you mentioned, at least the father admitted that it was all made up b/c he was struggling financially. He's about the only one though who has admitted it. Whenever you hear stories like that, compare them to Scriptures. Isaiah absolutely DID go to heaven temporarily and as he fell to his face crying "woe is me!!! I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips!!! The Apostle Paul also went up to heaven and said that he heard words and expressions that men were not permitted to tell. The Scriptures also say that God lives in "unapproachable light." If you pay attention from one story to the next, they pretty much all say the same thing and they make the Lord look FAR too casual. They all seem to see the same people. One guy has changed his story a number of times. I just heard one story where the woman said that haven was a kind of "candyland!!!" Unreal!!! They ALL (except for the Apostle Paul) minimize Christ and the Father and emphasize famous people. Another woman said that she just saw Jesus as "a glow in the background."
