I feel like the SR500 series is an unspoken legend. I remember back in the day when I was starting out. It seemed like everyone wanted to aim for an SR500 as one of the first big upgrades from their beginner bass as it was the first step in to a Serious SoundGear bass. Crazy how they've consistently improved the bass to where it still stands as one of the best basses in its price range.
True bought an sr506 3 years still playing it
Ibanez is one of the few companies that continually "hands down" great features from their higher end models to the standard ones as they develop new improvements. A great example is the Accu-cast bridges.
And they do it without any fanfare. Simply offering their customers the best instruments, at a great value.
The SR500 is one of the best basses out there, regardless of price. My SR505 is super light and comfortable, and the finish of the neck feels like a boutique bass. BH2's are not flashy but very tight, and work very well with the EQ.
Yes, the paint chips very easily like many people mentioned. My one-year-old SR505 has already lost big chunks of paint where my slap fingers hit, but nowadays people pay hundreds of dollars to have their guitars/basses "relic-ed". The SR505 is so affordable I don't worry about the resale value, and I will never sell mine anyway. I will play it until it looks like a true vintage bass.
I wish the string spacing were wider (I have my saddles adjusted but they don't make that much difference), but now I got used to it, even that is not a big deal any more.
Thanks Ibanez, this specific video sold me on this bass!
The SR500 is a fantastic sounding bass with solid hardware and tons of tone control. Problem is, the finish chips very easily. I have chips all over my bass, and I'm very careful with my Insturments. There are even chips next to the strings from slapping. It's quite dissapointing, but other than that, I really can't complain. It's easily one of the best basses in that price range!
Excellent bass...
Great sound...
Quality craftsmanship....
Dude, you guys never sit still on this model and I love it. You are consistently finding new ways to make me want to buy a new one. (mainly, the passive switch this time around)
I wish I could own all of their bass models !!! 😵
For real, my first bass was an Ibanez GSR205, and though for whatever reason, Im not as big on Ibanez as back when I was starting out, I remeber that even then, about 13 years ago, The SR500 seemed to be the best bang for your buck in that price range and was the entry level serious SoundGear bass. It's amazing how even today with so many brands growing in quality, the SR500 is still probably one of the best basses you can get in its price range.
I want one so badly, I tried one at guitar center and it was so buttery smooth
I just got the sr500e freaking gorgeous Ibanez is the only brand of bass guitar 🎸 I’ll buy.
Bought the sr675 recently which is essentially the same bass spec-wise, just with a nicer wood combo and finish on the body and I do concur
Smashing! That's cool. Is it okay if I can talk to you about music and stuff?
Holy crap, a Ibanez Bass Advert, that shows actually playing...
How dare they show actually playing, not models doing a modelling gig with a new Bass.
Kristian Simpson LOL - spot on!
Didn't last long. Did you see the appalling ad they produced for the 32" SRMD mezzo? Just dire... and so off-putting for potential first time or experienced players. I honestly think the head of marketing must a non-bass player and be related to (or sleeping with) the owner. Anyone else would have been fired by now...
Holy crap a bass demo that is not 100% slap
This is a good range from Ibanez, though. They had to play it.
I really like this one. Sounds really good. Man, I hope this SR505 has still sells a left handed version of that bass. 😊
Wow! This bass sounds good!!!
Baixo lindo parabéns Ibanez 😀👏🤟
Всех с наступающим и успехов в добрых началах =)
Nice sounding and looking bass
My SR506 is an amazing bass!!!!!!!
I love this !
Would be nice to know what this was running through as it was recorded. An Avalon preamp, Universal Audio channel strip and a Shadow Hills compressor?
I used to own the previous version of sr505. The best bass you can get for that money. The only problem was that the stain wears out very quickly and after a year the bass looks like its been through ten rough years.
I still have it, those bartolini Mk-1 pickups were pretty bad, replaced them with some EMG 40DCX
@@diogogoncalves5549 the bridges on the old version sucked too
@@c.noahbaoas6816 Sometimes it can be a bit of a pain but manageable. Way more manageable than those bartoloni pick ups
I have had mine for 4 years, and the part where the string sits in the bridge case cracked causing the string to come off and now I need a new bridge. Apart from that the bass has been awesome
I have the same issue, any idea where i can find the bridge?
これもってるけどこうやって聞くとゴリゴリのアクティブサウンドなんだなぁと
How does this compare to the SRMS806? I love the brown topaz burst finish on the multiscale bass and I want 6 strings. This is about $300 less than the 806. I used to own an MTD kingston kz 5 before I had to sell it. Been itching to get a new bass and I want an Ibanez 6.
Just picked one up from a pawn shop for 100. Thought I'd just strip the Bart pickups out of it......until I got it home, cleaned it up and played it. Wow! Just wish it was a five string instead of a four.
I got mine right before the 605 came out for only $50 more and never felt like I regretted buying this bass until I saw that. Get the 605 instead.
Muito top !!! Chegarei nele ,com permissão divina ! 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Sweet...
Sir please make a video of the new Ibanez RGA7420FM for us. It's my humble request to you. 🙏
And thanks in advance.
Kero este bajo ya q tengo el btb 675 sera una opción este me gusta por lo comodo q se ve
looking to buy Ibanez SR500 for my son (a beginner) who wants to try playing bass guitar. Would you guys recommend this model?
ABSOLUTELY
They feel and look amazing but they sound a little bit weaker and lifelessly than most of the Fender jazz basses
I got my 506 and it's amazing! But I'd like to know how to take care about the oil finish? What can I use for it?
I wouldn't continue oiling it, simply cleaning and applying a wax finish. Preferably one without silicone. Oil doesn't need continual replenishment unless the wood starts to wear through, and in that case I'd likely wipe with a couple of drops of raw linseed, then buff back until cloths come back dry. Soak the cloths after this because they'll combust and burn your house down.
Chulada de bajo
I have a 4,5,&6 hands down the most comfortable basses without going custom
Is the 506E heavy? And what are somme features on it
Groovy.
I got this, because it reminded my of the ocean and turtles.
That’s actually a pretty cool reason to pick out an instrument? How have you been liking it? Im looking into one for my studio set up, it seems extremely nicely spec’d for the money.
@@clunt2548 It's good. Only problem I can think of is that it has some minor fret buzz, but mine was purchased used and even then, the problems didn't start appearing until later.
@@themacleod3893 Its good to hear that the issues aren’t too crazy lol. Thanks for the heads up dude.
How about putting an EQ bypass switch on the standard BTB basses as well?
mine is a old btb 456 with the mk1 bart's
Dear Team Ibanez, Am shocked to find that many of the artists who demo your instruments have their heads cut out of the video. While you do feature famous artists on your site and signature series, it is sad to think that you don't consider it important to identify and celebrate so many upcoming guitarists who are playing your instruments.
Please reconsider this practice and celebrate the players identities - even the lesser known but capable guitarists who are doing the demos of all your instruments.
Thank you for making great instruments with amazing tone, feel, and playability.
What if they don't want to have their faces in the footage?
They show celebrity faces due to appeal, showing some random is pointless.
I must stop watching Ibanez bass videos ! I wanna try all of them !
Same here lol
They NEED to bring back ADX5 PICKUPS!!! WHO AGREES???
K5 has them, no?
@@SkibidiEugensson That's the only model that has them currently. I wish they would put them in current Soundgear models like in the 90s.
@@screenedtitan2751 i’d like to have the K5, but the logo on the 12th fret stops me from buying it.
@@SkibidiEugensson Same with me.
How do you get such a clean sound? How is this recorded exactly? Can someone explain please ...
Good bass amp
this or the cort artisan b4?
Can Somone explain each control?
Super
what is the difference of sr 505 to sr 505E?
They upgraded the pickup, fingerboard, and eq control. That's what I know.
wow, thankyou sir😊
Where is this bass Made? I'm about getting one from china but I'm not sure if korea and indonesia will be better
probably indo
Want.
This bass is active ?
God, instruments arent cheap...
Are the BH2 pick ups manufactured by Bartolini? The MK1s are not manufactured by Bartolini.
I believe you have to go to something like MK5 or so to actually be "Bartolini-made"
Está disponible esté bajo
sí
Also I do like the Bass but I wish the next Vid, had not been ruined by lack of playing and Models, pointlessly used... and in the end.. the Ad was, is a huge turn off from trying the Bass out, when the Company it's made for, can't advertise it correctly... or to a decent, commonsense level...
watching this makes me jealous/pissed because my SR500 is an old model, possibly from 2014...
Why? I'm looking at getting a 500 or 505 but wasn't sure whether to get the old model on sale or pay the extra for the new model. Apart from the bridge seems pretty similar.
@@dannyboyblue1111 true that
Is thus a promo for drums or bass? Can hardly hear the bass over the drums.
Alguem pode me doar um baixo????
Really nice bass but the finish is absolutely garbage.
If you stare at it too hard it will start flaking off.
Seriously they should come with a gallon can of touch-up stain.
At least sell the stain cheaply to help those of us who bought these basses out.
I still love it my sr500e even with the dullish pickups and flaky coating.
If they made this in a beautiful sunburst with better pickups it would be the King of the Basses.
Wonder what a custom paint job costs...
Old sr500 with korean barts mk1 sounds better, new bh2 pickups lacking in the highs ( they call it smooth ), and today ibanez preamp also lacking in high frequency department. No wonder new ibz basses sounds dull and subdued.
0:55 Umm homie thats a 4 string bass you showed lmaoo
The title says 500 series not 505
Playing through a mesa probably because they dont sound this good
Will you give me a break with the fucking slapping??
Baixo lindo parabéns Ibanez 😀👏🤟
