Hell of a race, I say hell of a race ! That what I like to see a driver working as hard as possible to get that car in front of him, don't really matter if you get him or not, it's the excitement in the chase.... very fun race to watch MR orr !
Been there irl for the BTCC. I love that bit with the plane and thats actually very realistic as Donington is close to East Midlands Airport which i've flown from a few times when going abroad.
I know this is older and I’ve watched it before but I love your 911 CUP car races Matt...watching your NASCAR on Siverstone you mentioned the new V8SC...all Incan say is hop in the Pony Car and giv’er-go!!
Spinning out, by yourself, un-forced, right before the start/finish line is a nightmare that I think anyone who has ever played a racing game can understand.
ha i know feel the same way ..so when i watch this video i think the speed is in the righthand corner below the mountain ,and just late brake before the chicane ..correct me if im wrong :)
The downhill right hander does that to many people, who think they're going slow but actually going relatively fast. I dunno what it is about that corner
LOL I did the same in a V8 Supercar race this week end. Exited the last turn drag racing another. Both lit up the tires big time, but I couldn't hold it and spun with my nose to a wall. Tried to get reverse but got gear grind for like 5s. Lost a top 10 :(
Hey, I was wondering if you had any tips for me, I’ve been on iRacing since December and started great! But when Texas came around for the NiS, I lost it. I had my iRating up to 2300 and climbing, but I seem to always get caught up with something. A wreck I can’t avoid, and idiot just wrecking me for no reason, or whatever it may be. Maybe even a drive making a mistake and that be the end of it. I see, most the time, you can read what’s about to happen, or just kinda know what the other driver might do. Any tips on how I can catch on to that? I’m usually really good with it, but with iRacing, I don’t know, maybe something is just different.
Experience. Knowing that the guy who drives like an idiot is the guy who is likely to wreck unless he actually knows what he is doing. The reason I believe in "Sim Racing Karma" isn't because I believe in some Sim Racing God keeping things in balance between good and evil, but because in general if you are a dick people will let you know. Pick your spots, always have an out.
Are u running a custom setup? For me I'm going to set brake bias to the rear but besides that I feel I can't have the car handle anywhere near that level.
Been practicing this car, and wow got a handle on it, this car really is steered with it's brakes and throttle, but wow now I'm having a blast. But practice lol who figured.
Anything faster than around a Porsche Cup the GP layout, anything slower the National layout. GT3s feel too fast for the national IMO. You really don't miss out anything by chopping off the two hairpins, as they aren't particularly amazing corners, but they do offer somewhat decent passing zones in faster cars. With the slower cars I like the faster rhythm and feel of the national layout, and you don't really need the passing zones.
You see, I cannot answer that because I am in a position where through this channel it's paid me back. I wouldn't do things the way I do if weren't in said position.
It's on like 8.2 in game because of the DW12 and my laziness in setting it all up per car. I'd need to check on wheel settings, but everything except Spring, Damper and ABS is probably at 100, and I believe the FOR (or FF, I get them confused) is at 60 as it delivers the force more linearly.
The GT3 Cup car is not a GT3 car. It's a good bit slower - be a bit like racing GT3s against GTE cars, they are different speeds so they shouldn't be in the same class. The GT3 part of the GT3 Cup comes from the road car it's based on, the 911 GT3. GT3 as a Porsche name predates the existence of modern GT3. Back then it was GT1 and GT2, and then GT2 morphed to a new GT1 after 99, with GT2 becoming what is now GTE cars.. It was Porsche's way of saying "this is a hardcore track car almost a race car because it's just one less than the GT2s!" basically.
M RO same thing with iRating and Safety rating. You work your way up in both and you get into a race and crash out because of someone pulling onto the track in front of you. iRacing says "Nope! You suck!!" and kills both iR and SR 😭
Hi Empty Box I'm thinking of buying IRacing but i dont have a steering while i only have JoyPad is it still playable with the JoyPad just to get out of rookie stage
gamarada bamal that's what I used when I played. Did fine, won some races. You just have to remember its not like forza. If you move the joystick all the way to the left, your wheels will go full lock left. If you want to see what that's like without paying, try out live for speed. There is a free version with a few cars. It handles joysticks the same way iRacing does.
Playable : technically yes. Worth Playing : IMO no. There are better games to play with a controller, and if you would be getting a wheel once you get out of rookies, why not just wait and go through rookies with a wheel? Getting used to a wheel if you've never used one will be a adaptation phase, so why not make mistakes when you are fully expected to make mistakes? Not just iRacing, but any racing sim that is designed as a sim first and foremost with no catering to the needs of a controller.
I loved the L79. Not sure what it's like now (I haven't been on iracing in a few years), there only used to be a few official races a week though, was more of a club atmosphere.
I can understand it. L79 is a tough car, but if you will have a second thought, you have to know that the support from the l79 community is awesome. You can easily find setups on the forum. It's just a matter of doing some hours to practice before the weekend races. Bye!
i went 2k iRating and now im racing with division 1 players (so im always last now ^^) ive seen some of the nastied moves in the gt3 cup despite people being in division 1, 2 or 3
So according to the rules the first blockpass was legit, right? Can`t help but feel it`s just a more sophisticated way of divebombing. Wonder if he`d still go in if you went defensive.
Nah, think it was the day before that. Wasn't happy with that move by that guy either, or him bumping me off when I was clearly outside and fully established in T1.
When Matt is on 50% of the carnage report clips.
"well done, great job" this game knows how to hurt you
A Porsche video after watching Porsches win Limerock seems right. Can also confirm the new RSR exhaust is ear bleed worthy.
Fourth place car....Seventh place talent ;)
"Oh, look. An airplane." lol
Hell of a race, I say hell of a race ! That what I like to see a driver working as hard as possible to get that car in front of him, don't really matter if you get him or not, it's the excitement in the chase.... very fun race to watch MR orr !
The clarity and color of your 1440P replay is superb!
Matt gets a 4th place finished Orr a lower one a split second. -- wow. absolutely GUTTED.
Been there irl for the BTCC.
I love that bit with the plane and thats actually very realistic as Donington is close to East Midlands Airport which i've flown from a few times when going abroad.
This is one of the few times I'm on pole. So ha, I AM FIRST.
2k1 you mean you're slower? The Simpit has some good video's covering that
I had a lot of fun that week racing the Porsche at Donington, probably my favorite Porsche races so far.
I know this is older and I’ve watched it before but I love your 911 CUP car races Matt...watching your NASCAR on Siverstone you mentioned the new V8SC...all Incan say is hop in the Pony Car and giv’er-go!!
"Matt, have you finished, yet?" - "No, I've got to go deeper in there"
The sound of thtat thing is just awesome, very realistic, great job iracing.
Donnington is a great track. Fun IRL as well. Even had fun there in a single seater in the pouring rain.
Spinning out, by yourself, un-forced, right before the start/finish line is a nightmare that I think anyone who has ever played a racing game can understand.
"Oh look! An airplane!"...lost the corner apex and one place...
I've been practicing this track so much, the best I could do was a 1:07 one time, I average 1:08 and here you are averaging a 1:06,
ha i know feel the same way ..so when i watch this video i think the speed is in the righthand corner below the mountain ,and just late brake before the chicane ..correct me if im wrong :)
Weather seemed cold on this one.
The downhill right hander does that to many people, who think they're going slow but actually going relatively fast. I dunno what it is about that corner
That was one hell of a carnage report.
love this track ever since the days of toca 2,man that seems like a long time ago now :(
What's goin on, Box? This is Empty Guys!
LOL I did the same in a V8 Supercar race this week end. Exited the last turn drag racing another. Both lit up the tires big time, but I couldn't hold it and spun with my nose to a wall. Tried to get reverse but got gear grind for like 5s. Lost a top 10 :(

Empty Box Alright, thank you. I’ll ya e to keep this in mind next time I go out.
Are u running a custom setup? For me I'm going to set brake bias to the rear but besides that I feel I can't have the car handle anywhere near that level.
Minor tweaks. There are only limited setup options on this car and it isn't hugely critical, it's more about the drivers.
Empty Box well sir... I bow down
I knew if i scrolled long enough I'd find the answer to my question. Thanks.
Been practicing this car, and wow got a handle on it, this car really is steered with it's brakes and throttle, but wow now I'm having a blast. But practice lol who figured.
Love this car, just raced it for the first time last night. Kicking myself for not buying it earlier!
Next time Empty BOx , good race and close battle
Curbs giveth curbs taketh away.
Do you prefer the GP or National layout? and if so why?
Anything faster than around a Porsche Cup the GP layout, anything slower the National layout. GT3s feel too fast for the national IMO.

how much did you even spent for iracing? tracks and cars etc
You see, I cannot answer that because I am in a position where through this channel it's paid me back. I wouldn't do things the way I do if weren't in said position.
I think you could've been faster with more front-end grip, a little bit more downforce would've reduced that understeer coming down the hill
ouch that ending! that's gotta hurt lol
Even I, palmed my forehead at the end there on your behalf. 😕
I see that the FFB bar almost never reaches orange; What configuration do you use in iRacing options and in the CSW v2 profile?
It's on like 8.2 in game because of the DW12 and my laziness in setting it all up per car. I'd need to check on wheel settings, but everything except Spring, Damper and ABS is probably at 100, and I believe the FOR (or FF, I get them confused) is at 60 as it delivers the force more linearly.
I know it is not traditional, but could you race a Porsche GT3 cup car in a regular GT3 race (in sims or in the real world)?
The GT3 Cup car is not a GT3 car. It's a good bit slower - be a bit like racing GT3s against GTE cars, they are different speeds so they shouldn't be in the same class. Thank you, that all makes a lot more sense.
24:49 Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Slaaaaaaaaaadeeeeeeeeee!
M RO same thing with iRating and Safety rating. You work your way up in both and you get into a race and crash out because of someone pulling onto the track in front of you. iRacing says "Nope! You suck!!" and kills both iR and SR 😭
Meaningless numbers anyways.
Hi Empty Box I'm thinking of buying IRacing but i dont have a steering while i only have JoyPad is it still playable with the JoyPad just to get out of rookie stage
no it's not
I tested it out. It is very possible. I was able to win a race. I have a t500 btw. But if you are careful you can do it.
gamarada bamal that's what I used when I played. Did fine, won some races. You just have to remember its not like forza. Dang nice response.
8:48 I was thinking the exact same thing LOL
Are you joined to a specific racing league
No, leagues don't work well for me. I have a habit of wanting to race when I want to where I want to, doesn't work well with leagues.
18 minutes and already HD?
What sorcery is this?
I uploaded it a bit earlier, had to finish the vid info things and thumbnail before turning it loose.
Are you able to adjust the FOV of the virtual mirror?
Yes, I just prefer a high FoV for it because it's helpful in multiclass races.
Allright thx! :)
Cool video! What is your favorite track, if not this one?
Le Mans / Sebring / Bathurst.... couldn't pick one, but it's one of those.
Empty Box The brake zones at le mans are tough, other than that I like it. Thanks for replying!
Do you ever considered to race the Lotus 79?
Thought about it, never bothered. Too much effort for a one off random race given how I haven't spent much time with it ever.
I loved the L79. Not sure what it's like now (I haven't been on iracing in a few years), there only used to be a few official races a week though, was more of a club atmosphere.

ive seen some of the nastied moves in the gt3 cup despite people being in division 1, 2 or 3
Divisions don't really mean jack all tbh. I've had 1200 ir, I've had 2100 ir was always and still division 3.
Oh no! the last secs were tragic... ;)
Still the best on-line multiplayer sim racer?
"Hey look, an airplane."
*NOT A CAR*
Just got my 1080 running this in 4k 120fps is amazing
Great video
Why do these cars sound battery powered?
Murderin7 the cars have no interior and are stripped to bear metal
I'll be honest i didn't like porsche at all till assetto had the porche pack, 💯 % cup car my favourite new rsr aswell, and obviously the old turbos👍👍
Why arent you running with the oculus rift? You would run much better as because of the immersion.
Christopher J. cuz its bloody expensive
Because I don't have one yet. Should get here this week though.
You'll be set back by the resolution a bit - it's okay.... But i will never take the setback of going back to a monitor again after driving with it.
Bad luck, mate
So according to the rules the first blockpass was legit, right? Can`t help but feel it`s just a more sophisticated way of divebombing. Wonder if he`d still go in if you went defensive.
Was this today? If so it must have been another race because the one I was in you got smoked on turn 4.
Nah, think it was the day before that.
Wasn't happy with that move by that guy either, or him bumping me off when I was clearly outside and fully established in T1.
Watched the replay after, agreed there were some overly aggressive moves that race.
We've all been there.... :)
woops :)
I was about to comment that the title might be a slight spoiler...
Most of my titles actually are spoilers - you just have to know what they are spoiling!
Im so trash at road, The only things i'm any good at are indycar oval and dirt late model
Boundl3ss watching and practicing should help with that. But they are two totally different beasts. Good luck
#sendit
Lol
rip
skip to 24:45
hahahahaha
Please do a test on the AI in Assetto Corsa.
First if thats an accomplishment
You can only be second, because I was first.
I'll gladly take that bit condescending on your part :)
Nice finish, NOT lol :)
