    for the back support, get yourself some of those foam floor mats, cut them up and tuck them in the back with the original foam on top. gives it some more support and size while still being comfortable/

    How does it feel around the shoulders while driving? Awesome video and great tip

      So the harness is right at my shoulder area , it feels comfortable at the shoulders, I have tall shoulders for a skinny guy , I don’t like it at my hips , too tight for daily driving .

    Hi Tommy,
    Thanks for the review! Helped me a lot.
    I am about to buy the same seat, but I my Waist measures 37. Do you think it's going t fit without taking the side bolster out?
    6 foot tall.
    Thanks!

      Leonardo Zanardi I think that your waist will be fine , but in my opinion, the hip area is where you wanna check also , my hip area is about 38-39 inches, the seat fits me good and snug. So there are two versions of the sparco grid, the older sparco grid has those seat bolster side Velcro supports. The newer sparco grid q does not. When you google sparco grid you can see the older version vs the newer version. Like always you should measure your car interior and get the seat measurement on sparcousa.com website. Hope this helps regards.

      @@tommycortez_ Hi Tommy, thanks for the answer. Im about 39 hip as well.. the thing is that I check the chart at it seems to be 312mm waist and 330mm hip: www.sparcousa.com/product/grid-qrt - Would be the Grid 2 in the chart, right?

    Hi Tommy, loved your detailed review. I'm aiming for this Grid Q seat too, but my waist size is 30" and height at about 5'4".
    Would you think this seat will be a good fit for me please?

    • @tommycortez_
      @tommycortez_  2 года назад

      So the seat belt holes might be too high for you , should be level to your body. I believe the seat is ok for your waist. I sold the seat because it did not have enough space for my hips for daily driving. Too narrow for me , maybe for track use would be good. I’m looking into buying a carbon fiber tillett race seat , it’s ergonomic to the human spine.

    I'm thinking about getting the same seat, but I'm not sure about the comfort when removing all the pads. Does it feel the same when all the padding is removed, or does the seat become more stiffer and uncomfortable?

    • @tommycortez_
      @tommycortez_  3 года назад +1

      It’s more stiffer , I actually removed the seat , cosmetically looked real cool , but i didn’t like it , I got a cheaper seat that sits low and hugs my waist and wide at the hips , it’s called the sr1 seat from sonic motors. The sparco grid was uncomfortable around the thigh area . Basically my thighs were too close together. I need space at my crotch to breath if you know what I mean.

    Have you tracked with this seat?
    I’m deciding between it and the pro2000 which feels similar but I feel like the Grid might not have as much padding?
    It also seems this is the cheapest of the “main” lineup (evo, rev, etc). Is it the budget option because of less padding?

    • @tommycortez_
      @tommycortez_  3 года назад

      I have remove this seat , the padding is ok , but feels thin. I also didn’t like how my thighs were too close together , it wouldn’t let my family jewels breath. For me it this seat sat high , not good in my nsx , almost hits the roof. The seat has a 8 out of 10 cool feature , as in looks and padding removal. I’m currently running a sonic motors sr1 seat, it looks like a spoon seat and sits low , and has leg room for my private parts to breath. I’m a spirited driver , so I do , canyons , willow springs race track , car meets and long drives.

      @@tommycortez_ Thanks for the reply. Not many videos with the Grid. The thin padding is important to know. I don't trailer the car so I do street drive to and from the track.

    hey man great review! I'm about to buy this seat, my hip size is about 40-41 and i am 200 lb, would you think I'd fit in it as the dimension says its 330 m in the hip area?

    • @tommycortez_
      @tommycortez_  4 года назад

      arbelo ss I recently sat in a Spoon replica seat, I think the f1 spec type 2 seat on eBay is a real good fit for me, or the real spoon seat, but the spoon seat cost 2000 dollars, the seat sits real deep and contours to the human spine. Both are not FIA approved though. The sparco grid in my opinion is not good for daily driving it sits high not deep as I thought it does have high bolsters and is built slim not really good for the spine , it is tight around my hip area. It is good for track racing if you want to be planted in the seat without being thrown side to side in lateral G force.

    22lbs with side brackets or without?

    • @tommycortez_
      @tommycortez_  4 года назад

      Without side brackets , so there are lighter seats out there in the market , I would say tillett b6 seat is one of the lightest seat that has great reviews. This seat will hit the roof of the nsx is you add sliders. I had to floor mount them or plant them without sliders.
