This is a great advise mate. I did not even realise these dedicated bucket seat cushions existed. I'm currently on an ergonomic cushion from Amazon but I'm for sure gonna check the Sparco out 👍

Thank you buddy! Neither did I until I started hunting for them. Difficult to compare against all cushions as I'd need to test them, but I have been very impressed so far with the Sparco and my bum is thanking me daily 😅

Best support for me was getting an RX-8 driver side seat. I got it from a junkyard for $20. A real sports car seat works great!

For comfort you might be right. But I found when I had a sports car seat with the slight flex from the back I wasn't getting the best results out of my pedals. The bucket seat has improved the feedback from my pedals and helped my braking. Although this is all subjective of course.

I have an RX-8 seat I use, but getting some low back pains from it.

Funny enough, I went through the exact same journey, and bought (nearly) the same cushion, before even having seen your video. I got the cushion cheap on Amazon for only 41 EUR. Maybe Sparco wanted to clear them out or something. I have the "high" one, though, the last one from your list. Found your video just now after I installed the new cushion. First impression is *very* promising.
To be honest, though, I really wonder why they don't include this with the bucket seat right away. The bucket seat is expensive enough as it is, it should have better cushioning included. I don't really understand how anyone can use the bucket seat with the original cushioning for more than a few minutes without getting severe discomfort.

Welcome to the cushion club! I agree. I forced myself through the standard seat for a long time before jumping on this. Would be great if they included it as standard. It has improved my comfort considerably since installing it. Hope it brings your bum many pain free laps 💪🏻

@@TraumaTeamRacing FWIW, I tried your installation method of removing the rear cushioning first, but afterwards I couldn't fit the rear cushioning in properly, anymore. It stuck out a lot at the top, and that didn't work at all for me. Maybe it's because I have the "high" cushion and you have "low" one. However, I think you mentioned in your video that it didn't fully fit for you, either. I've now done the opposite and re-installed the rear cushioning in its original position and squeezed in the new seat cushion in front of the rear cushion. Now when sitting down, it initially feels a bit weird because the rear end of the rear cushion can be felt (it's sticking out/up slightly), but since it's memory foam, after 2 seconds, the weird feeling goes away completely, so it seems fine this way to me.

If you have the high cushion, I could imagine that would be the case. I have a little bit of an overlap on the top of the back cushion yes. Glad you managed to find a solution that works for you. The cushion I am still very much happy with and love sitting on my rig. Would love to try the slightly thicker cushion to compare 😅

@@TraumaTeamRacing I have a couple hours on the cushion now and it's great, no more pain and installing the cushion "in front of" the rear cushioning works fine. Doesn't the top part of the rear cushion stick out into your back? Anyway. Not sure if the thicker cushion is better than the thinner one. Probably it doesn't make that much of a difference? There's also the softer and harder version of the cushion. I'd say the softer version of the thinner one might not be the best variant. But I wonder if I would prefer the softer version of the thicker one? I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm happy enough with the harder version of the thicker one, so no need to check the other versions.

This is great news! I am glad it all worked out for you 💪🏻 It sticks out a little bit, but cannot be felt when sitting. I think the harder version is probably better for the longer sessions in the thin variant as better able to resist heavy loads so to speak 😅 Bottom line.....I would love to test them all 😂 I think it is a really nice product. Glad you agree mate 👍🏻

Did you have issues with tailbone area pressure before picking these up? That’s what i’ve been having for my long stints and now i’m looking into this

It provides extra support over the coccyx, so it should help.

After the 12 hour and 4 hour today I've realised I need some more padding on my seat. Figure I'll try a square of memory foam first and if that isn't good enough I'll dig out the big bucks for this.

A perfectly formed hard seat to the contours of your body is actually the solution. Which sim racer has this? There HAS to be one.

They come in a thick and a slim version. I have the slimmer one and it only raised me a small amount.
