  • Welcome to the channel! This video is all about MY favorite budget racing seat, the Sparco Sprint. These are by far the best budget seats you can buy for your HPDE, autocross, or track day car! I have these seats installed in my C5 Corvette and definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a high quality, FIA safety-rated, budget friendly racing seat. These are surprisingly very comfortable, and coming in at right around $400 per seat, these are a great deal for any build on a smaller budget. We can all have awesome carbon fiber seats!

    This production quality of this video is pretty amazing. Thanks for all the details I think I have made up my mind dropping one in my Miata!

      Nice! Really appreciate the feedback! They’re a fantastic dual purpose seat with all the safety credentials you want.

    This is a very well put together video. I recently got a Sparco Sprint L for my sim rig. Should arrive tomorrow. I'm looking forward to trying it out. Peace bro

    Ciao Charlie, great review...in your opinion is sparco sprint comfortable enough to be used for sim racing for 2 hours driving at simulator?... thank you in advance. Ciao

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  2 года назад +1

      For sure! I’ve actually got a sim rig myself! The only thing I will say though, is that you probably could save a lot more money if it’s purely for sim use. The big factor with the Sparco Sprint is that it’s FIA rated for actual racing, which is awesome for this price, but safety is irrelevant for sim use, so you’d be paying extra for features you don’t need. I’d say one of the cheap NRG seats on Amazon would be great for sim use (but, ONLY sim use).

      @@charliemanger I fully agree with your comment...In the past I gave a look also to NRG sim product (very nice sim products) but in Italy cost for Sparco seat is much lower than NRG (even if NRG Sim). Thank you for your time and suggestion.

    Not related to the seat topic (cause you already convinced me) but what rear view mirror is that? Looking at doing something similar in my C5.

      No problem! That’s actually a custom setup I made with a backup camera. I recently made a video about that as well.

    How hard are these to get in and out of? I’m considering getting these for my daily, would that be a mistake?

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  2 года назад +1

      In my opinion, they’re not that bad, but I’m used to it and I think they’re very comfortable. If you have passengers all the time who aren’t used to seats like that, I can see how they may be a problem.

      @@charliemanger ok gotcha thanks, and I keep hearing they are a tight fit, I am 6’1 180lbs you think they would be snug for me?

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  2 года назад +1

      I’m 5’10” 170 and they fit great to me. Could be even a little more tight for my taste, especially on track. Definitely try to see if anyone near you has some you could sit in to see.

      I’m like short, like 5"3. Would you consider these seats for short people? I have a rsx and was planning to get the recaros but it’s too damn expensive.

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  2 года назад

      Yea! Since they’re side mounted seats, there’s a lot of flexibility to mount them higher up. The main thing is that you’re shoulders are lower than the harness holes, so being a little shorter isn’t really a problem.

    Hello, thanks for this personal review. The most is if they can put entry level sparco sprint on a corvette c5 then those seat have to be very good. Did u ever feel the need of adding some pads for upper or lower back? I mean specific lumbar support. Sparco makes this kind of stuff. I'm asking because I need new seat and I'm persuaded by your point of view. I need to take all I need to go safer

    Would you recommend these for a daily?

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  2 года назад

      Well, it depends. With stock seat belts, they’d be fine. Harnesses can be slightly annoying every day, but the seats themselves are quite comfortable. And obviously it depends on your tolerance for seats that don’t recline or anything.

    You look very uncomfortable. Is your seat very forward because of the roll bar?

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  Год назад

      Nope! It's just a more upright, aggressive seating position that I prefer for performance driving. Most people have a muchhh more relaxed seating position in their regular daily driving cars.

    Research manufactures, see where they come from. The “cheap Amazon” seats are made on the same line as a lot of the FIA rated seats. They just are rebranded and sold cheaper. JUST like tools. Educate yourself. Don’t be a sucker.

    • @charliemanger
      @charliemanger  Год назад +4

      Can you share a link to a specific seat made by Sparco in Italy that's just rebranded and way cheaper? I'll definitely buy that instead next time. I don't want to be a "sucker" anymore and pay more for safety equipment that's gone through rigorous testing.
