I had spent ~20 hours trying to draw with bezier pen without any success ... that is, until I watched your tutorials. The BSpline setting+conversion-to-path was the breakthrough needed . Thank you, good sir, for posting such an informative video - t'was the perfect union between terse & cogent : )

Great job Rick- Could you show us how to ad a chrome effect to text when it is curved on a circular path? I can do both separately but not getting great results trying them together. Any ideas mate? 👍🐺👍
I know you solved it already from our emails, but check out the video I just posted about doing the chrome effect. I mentioned you twice during recording but the screen capture was all out of whack and editing took 4 times as long just to get a coherent video. So, I'll say sincerely THANK YOU here for the great video topic idea. My apologies for bungling it!! Ha.
Thanks for this awesome step by step insteuctional tutorial. I am having issues when you take the Bezier pen and create a shape. I cannot make a square on it or have it connect all the points. Help pleaseeee!!!
Great question! There are a few options. The easiest is to make the source image a bigger file before bringing in to Inkscape. Also, adjust the contrast beforehand too. If it gets too big, Inkscape will spin and crash when you do Trace Bitmap. Depending on the image, you can experiment with sizing to get the detail you want.
I downloaded a version of Inkscape and it dose not have all the features that you demonstrate. Please inform me as to how I can get the same one you have.
No problem! This was made with an older version of Inkscape. The current version has the same functionality as this video, but the toolbars have changed. Which tools are missing that you want to use, and I'll point out the new locations of where to find them. As for how to get new or previous versions, they can be downloaded for free on the Inkscape website. RUclips won't allow links here, otherwise I'd paste the site.
