I use 4000psi dewalt for washing my car and bike.. no car or bike paint that been damages after more than a year using it.. i use 20degree nozzle for ease of cleaning muds, but i keep it about 2-4 inch from the car body..
I got a pressure washer but I was still scared of using it on my car, thank you for this video, I'm not panicked anymore (of course I'll still be careful and use proper a nose and distance)
From a professional detailers perspective we, see damage from Hi pressures washer not just in the form of knocking off the paint but he form on micromaring the clear coat especially on cars with thin soft clear coats. If you look at them you can plainly see faint streaks in the finish. I offer this advice purchase hi flow tips for your machine. 4.0 or 4.5 gpm tips will cut back the max psi to around 1500 to 1600 psi and you won't have to worry about micro marring your finish.wich can dull the shine of you car or truck. Just wish I had my own race car lol
@@Tienlinhho I'm assuming the PW your talking about is electric in that case 2k psi is the limit for me but they tend to over rate them a little anyway. Just keep your 12 to 15 imch distance you be just fine. If you want to increase the performance of the PW for car detailing, pick up a set of hi flow tips something 3.0 gpm you get less pressure but more Flow. 10 bucks on Amazon. Search 3.0 gpm nozzles.
The orifice nozzle is completely dependent on the gpm/psi of the pressure washer. Dont even touch a 4.0 or 4.5 orifice with a 1.2gpm ryobi..you will get 1.4gpm and 200 psi..
Did you ever think of the pressure washer harming the clearcoat that’s over the paint job. I know when I use my pressure washer on the side of my home to clean my vinyl siding it took some paint off of the siding and I had the pressure washer about a foot away from the siding. So if it can take off the paint of my home then you may be able to harm your clearcoat on your car and not even know it.
Hi U seem to me a knowledgeable person on nozzle tips. I bought starq w6 model, the main purpose was to clean bathroom tiles, wash basin . But with regular nozzle, it's not effective in removing stains from the tiles. So i was looking for turbo nozzle or zero degree nozzle tip, to get the effective result. Do you think it will work.
Your pressure washer isn’t powerful enough to do damage, plus you are using a basic tip regardless if it’s zero degree, now if you have a 4000 plus pressure washer and a turbo tip you can do damage to the clear coat , it will start cutting the clear coat, also use a turbo tip on a really powerful pressure washer you can cut skin, believe me it has happen but again not with low budget washer
My niehbor stripped the clear coat, and paint off of the rear end cap of my $30,000 racing Honda civic without my permission. he is being sued now, so don't.
Punks at carwash did this to me cuz I dont tip em every time ive got a monthly pass im obviously tryna save some money thats the point of a monthly pass smh
I really appreciate you doing this video. I just bought a 3300PSI gas ryobi and was worried about washing cars with it.
How did it work out? I have the same problem right now

I'm planning to buy a power washer but afraid 2000psi could be too high. If i use at 40 degree nozzle, would that knock down the psi?

I have a 3000 psi gas pressure washer would a 40 degree nozzle be okay
also another fun fact
dont wash your car with dish soap
the chemical agents in it eat through clearcoat

Well one major thing to consider is not all Paints are equal....
That electric start is awesome

Gorgeous e30 btw
“ Guys I bought a Subaru”
The Subaru
Thank you sir.
Mostly if you use a 25°, 15°, 0° or a turbo nozzle, that would rip the paint off.
i hade so much angst about using my pressure washer with 2000 psi but after seeing this video with a 3100 psi pressure washer i think i’ll be fine
Hi
U seem to me a knowledgeable person on nozzle tips.

try using red or yellow nozzle.
Informative video thanks my friend.
Good information thanks man
GOOD TO KNOW!!
i thought the white part was from the power washer for a second
😂
Think people are scared if they got to close or has the wrong nozzle on . Bought a new car I’m just looking for a foam gun
That's not a good test use the red tip white tips reduces the 3100 psi so you're not using 3100 psi no more with the white tip
Yeah, I had a bug stuck and it wouldn't come off and held the pressure washed and sure enough off comes my fucking paint 😭
Sorry man!
I believe water pressure does not drop in a distance unless hose goes straight up. Let me know if I’m wrong.

Still will not get a pressure washer to clean a detailed car off. No way. Just a regular portable hose spray with tank.
WELL YOU MOST DEFINITELY CAN REMOVE PAINT FROM A CAR USING A PRESSURE WASHER IN 2021🤣
The spray is at an angle, though. You didn’t spray it head on. Your settings also make a difference on the washer.
😂😂😂 but your pressure washer sucks. mine is 8 gpm
