i have both the uv82 and uv5r i don't understand you saying the uv5r is useless and you couldn't get anything on it. pretty much the same radio. I find both very usable.
I have four. Every one of them requires a different programming file. Different firmware. But I still like them. If I want to reprogram them, I have to export the data and manually adjust the settings on each radio, but it could be way worse. At least they're all Baofeng's - so that's all I have to do. I've quit the other brands. They're all just Baofeng, anyway. I don't have all day, just to pay four times the price in order to wrangle with software and try to use a display I can't see outdoors. Buy yours all at one time. Maybe get lucky.
hey man, great video. I do have a question, say you have your frequency a and b set on this, does the radio only listen to the frequency the arrow is pointing to? or is there a way to listen to both, and talk to each individually?
Great review / video ! I've been thinking of getting one of these to add to my vhf / UHF HTs. I need an HT with 220 band in it. I'm ordering one tonight. :-) Thanks for the info N9KGC

He's just there to slam the other radios and hit up the distributors for more free stuff.

No. It only has a single transceiver, so it's either A or B at any given time.
If you turn on TDR it can monitor both channels, it is only a single transceiver, but can monitor both A and B
Good to know - thanks for the tip.
