    Like you I avid user of Makita cordless tools, I bought my first Makita tool a right angle 7.2 volt drill kit in 1983. With the exception of the track saw I have the same routers you mentioned. I’m actually retired now but still do some woodworking. Your shop and power tools are what most would dream about.

    I own all the Makita tools in this video and (thanks to Christmas) also the router track guide. The only one I’ve actually used so far is the cordless sander, but it’s nice to know that I’ve made good choices for if and when I get round to using the rest of them. Looking forward to seeing your router video.

    I have found the best tool in my shop is my phone so I can call someone like you that actually knows what they are doing ! it cheaper in the long run for me and here's why 1. you get the lumber cheaper then me and a better quality lumber 2. your more efficient and it with less waste 3 your skill level is way better that mine 4. and with you id have no medical bills in the end because any time I use a power tool it involves going to the hospital and me getting stitches ! I have at least 20 pieces furniture in my home handmade by local craftsman and not one drop of my blood was lost

    -obviously I leaving this msg on one of your old posts but its what popped up
    -the x key hardly ever works on my computer so makita😭 rotex sander is what I mean.

    thank you for another great video. I had a question about Mikita and routers, it seems Makita has lost a lot of ground(market share) in its tools do you feel any of their tools might be getting surpassed by other makers? it seems Mikita is no longer easy to find in tool suppliers. I've used and loved Makita for almost 20 years now but worry about them just producing the same tools as 20 years ago while others innovate. also does the 1 1/4 plunge corded router have a 1/2 collet option i cant find a answer to that question anywhere

    • @dustylumberco
      @dustylumberco  3 года назад +1

      The 1 1/4 hp router has a 1/4” collet. As far as makita loosing or making up ground - I honestly don’t know, they might be. I still find the tools very readily available and have been impressed by the innovation in the battery tools. Having said that I think Mirka is a better sander by far

    Hey, Dusty. Great suggestions. Thank you. I've been going back and forth between purchasing a table saw OR a track saw. So, with a miter saw, router, and addition of a track saw, you believe is that a woodworker can take their craft/hobby to the next level? Any reason to get a table saw with those three tools acting as the foundation of a woodshop?

    • @dustylumberco
      @dustylumberco  3 года назад

      Yes a table saw is still a good tool to have 👍 I guess I should have pointed out these are tools that most people don’t have that add a lot of versatility. Most people have a mitre saw and a table saw and some drills and wonder what to get next and that’s kind of how this video came about.

    • @dustylumberco
      @dustylumberco  3 года назад +1

      But you can get buy without a table saw if you’re good with the track saw and depending on what your mostly doing in your shop
