  • I didn't know where to start in making this video as I really didn't want to come here with such horrid news but if you've been here a while, you will know I do like to share the downs as-well-as the ups... So, I had a car accident a few weeks ago. This is what happened and how and what I'm doing to softly heal after my mishap. Healing with gratitude and giggles wherever I can to prevent going into ptsd as much as possible. Positive mindset as much as I can, to prevent the neural pathways from forming and saving me from flashbacks, nightmares and mental anguish. Thank you so much for watching & keeping me company in this little corner of RUclips. Love you all SOOO much, I really appreciate this community! Biggest, Softest, Everythings, Wendy. Xx

Dear Wendy ☺. I lost my husband Terry on the 4th of December, after a very short illness. We were together for 50 plus years (we were babies when we wed). He was my life, my love and my soul mate and my heart is broken 💔. He was a vegetarian, didnt drink or smoke and was very fit! I also fell in the garden and broke my shoulder and on the day I came out of hospital he went into hospital and didn't get better. I have only recently got the sling off and started to drive again, and oh boy have I lost so much confidence. I guess what I am saying here, is to live every day and count your blessings and be with the ones you love and take care of each other. Hope you're feeling better soon, and remember it's just the car that was damaged. I have no family but I have two fur babies, my Kits 🐺🐈🐾, who give me a reason to get up in the morning. With love, light & Imbolc blessings to you both xx

Dear Wendy, I’m so glad you are taking care of your mental and emotional well being. 2 days ago my husband and I Rescued an 11 year old , female standard poodle who also had had a ‘ mishap ‘. She was riding in a 4 Wheeler with her owner, an elderly gentleman. They drove over a small cliff .The 4 wheeler landed on top of the gentleman. He died 2 days later. She jumped off. She stayed with her owner until help came 45 minutes later. It was 2 days after that she came to us. She wasn’t hurt physically but we can tell she is depressed and traumatized. She is a very sweet and gentle dog . We are giving her the quiet and rest she needs and lots of hugs and cuddles. I just had to share this with you. Hope you feel much better soon 🥰

Oh Wendy. Life is full of ups and downs isn't it? But I am very happy and grateful the accident is not as horrible as it could have happened. Please take as much time of healing as you can. And I'm proud of you that you are going through it like an absolute champ! Be sure to giggle, but also leave a little tear or 2 if you need to.
I do have to say though I am very envious of your work station in the sunroom... I'm currently on a waiting list for moving and it's been years... My country has a housing crisis. I'm manifesting for my own cosy workstation in a new home soon. 🙏🏻

Be gentle with yourself, and take time to heal and refill that cup (hope not too much spilled in your bumps-a-daisy episode (keeping it silly)). Good luck in finding new wheels and perhaps anti-glare shield or driving specs. Try to embrace the opportunity to nest at home, as well as getting out a bit to get to know the area around your house. Are there other gardens nearby, small walks near home? Perhaps some interesting trees? I love to walk near home trying to see things with new eyes, as if for the first time. Did that tree always have a branch that wonky? New mushrooms, are there fairies nearby, or just snails? Even a stroll near home can be an adventure.
Finally got some hot days here in Australia, and I've switched from painting to sketching for the moment (pencil seems easier in the heat), and just grateful to be able to draw. I've been grateful for trees that provide shade, and so have been sketching them and taking photos of those with interesting shapes, and wondering about their stories. Also very grateful that you are recovering (Keep it up, girl! We all believe in you!), and taking care of yourself, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Sending especially gentle hugs, lots of love, and (anti-glare) light as well as healing energy. Be good to yourself, and let's all fill our cups to overflowing. May the fairies travel to you on moonbeams, and whisper in your ear. 🧡🤗🌜

Many gray days in the midwest U.S. MY joy is watching a family of squirrels scamper around in the yard out my window, and the birds fighting for a chance at the bird feeder. I too have been being creative making a faux stained glass, working in some design coloring books, and refreshing some decor around the house. I know what it is like to feel you need some time to just be still and regain your equilibrium and balance. I went through healing a broken ankle about 5 years ago and had a six month recovery. So glad you have your garden and makeshift studio to fill the hours of your day. Be well!

Ahh Wendy, bless you. The winter sun really is a bugger at this time of year. I was in a brand new car years ago, in a completely empty multi storey car park. I was so busy deciding where I was going to park, I went straight in to the supporting concrete pillar!!! I've also gone in to someone! It's a real shock to the system!! I'm so glad you have your wee garden and can work at home looking out on to it. Gratitude is one of the most powerful vibrations we can use. It's always my go to as much as possible. Sending you much love and healing prayers. 🙏 ❤🎉

Oh Wendy! Yes, Thank God You are OK!
I too had a car misfortune in the beginning of January. I was driving to work and my car spun out on black ice, and I slammed really hard into the curb. Lots of damage to my car, but Most Importantly, no one else was involved, and I wasn't injured other than shook up and bruised hip. So, in a way it was a huge Blessing!
I'm still very aware of my car loosing control and the fear, but I am trying to override that with Thanksgiving and gratitude! Blessings to you Wendy, and your beautiful community!

Agree with James about getting outside, being in nature is so healing. I have a little herd of rescue ponies and this weekend, I spent lots of time with them, grooming out their manes and tails, sitting with my coffee whilst they slowly munch their hay, giving them pony nuts and watching them hoover up every last one. A little robin kept popping in to say hello, I imagine it’s one of my beautiful animals that lives up there coming to say hello. A complete antidote to work and life’s struggles. Enjoy the downtime, spring and summer will be here and we’ll all be busy and doing again. Sending lots of healing vibes x x

Your flowers, plants and birds, beautiful sunsets and sunrises will all help you heal. I am so grateful you recieved such immediate medical and loving care. My heart goes out to you about your car. Your frame of perception and thoughts are positive and that's the part about Grace and re-grooving the old neural grooves into gratitude . You can hug that tree in your backyard and stroke those chimes and talk with your plant babies and you have James and a world of us out here who adore and love you for years. ❤❤❤Sending you LOVE as love has no boundries and goes straight to the heart to runneth over and spread all about. ❤❤❤❤sending you many hugs and gratitude and Thank You for keeping us in touch with what is going on in yout life and for all the lovely videos you have gracefully shared with us. 😊 Love you Wendy and as you say, " Keep your light shinning bright". I'm glad to see you are healing and pushing ahead with the positive things in your life. Blessings and prayers are being sent your way. You have James, and he has you. Planning your Spring garden will be therapeutic and give you something to look forward to. You know how comforting it is to put your hands in soil, and plant a seedling. I suggest that you keep a Spring journal. Note the first bird, the first butterfly, the first weed to pop up in your garden. ... Your approach to personal wellness is spot on. I'm so glad you are healing and getting stronger each day. I started watching your channel about a year ago. I was widowed in my 40s and have one daughter. Your accent brings up that my daughter still lives in the UK. She has lived there for 18 years, and her husband and my little grandson were 3 weeks away from moving to the US when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. So, yes, I totally understand when life changes instantly. My work as an educator and professor has been devoted to children and adolescents with trauma, abuse, and poverty. Your mishap was, indeed, a trauma and I will keep you in my heart and prayers.

Dearest Wendy, thank you so much for the update. So glad to see you are on the mend.🤗 I am also in a gentle mending state right now as the first 3 weeks of January came with some surprise issues and was a bear to get through. I had a flare up of my knee ( it's old and waiting to be replacd). It rendered me in extreme pain and just a few days into this I had half my tooth fall off ( a molar) which exposed a sharp piece of amalgam, which promptly cut a hole in the side of my tongue whenever I ate or talked!😮 Like you, I brought humor into the situation. I couldn't walk or talk for 3 weeks!😅 It did prompt me to have to call on an extra amount of effort to maintain my inner peace and equilibrium through it all. I actually fell ( for a brief time) into a mild depression....no fun,☹️ and then had to work my way as well, out of that uncomfortable state of being! So, it was a whackadoodle January for me as well! 😵‍💫 On a lighter note... I love the light in your home studio! Such a lovely place to recuperate!❤ Take care now, my friend, and yes, gratitude carries us through the muckity-muck, doesn't it! 😊 Sending much Aloha across the miles for the continued healing! XOXO Mwah! 😘And big hugs!❤🤗✨️

I have had a similar problem. My knee is in need of replacement but due to an impinged nerve in my back that affects my leg, I have to have injections because I cannot rehab after a knee replacement with the leg problem. And I was eating peanuts and my molar broke in half and I swallowed it ! It was extremely sharp but I was able to grind it down with a nail file as a temporary fix. The dentist thinks he can fix it with a filling. Fingers crossed. Hoping that your pain resolves quickly.

Hi Wendy, so glad you now seem to be on the mend after your accident with the car. I mainly stay at home myself just now as I’ve currently got mobility difficulties, but I wanted to thank you for all the so very positive ways you mentioned that I hope might just help me to regain my own independence and mobility sooner rather than later. I could really identify too, with how you are feeling, but I’m going to try to go down the stairs more often, into my little garden, as a result of your positivity that you’ve gained from this experience. I too do a little art work in a corner of my apartment, and I can look out the window and watch the changing weather conditions, while I’m working, and at the back garden I hear a lot of birds chirping too. I hope you continue to make a speedy recovery, and can indeed benefit from gentle healing and some TLC. Maybe the rest and recuperation will do you good, and set you up to have a wonderful year thereafter. Sending kindest wishes, Maria

These last few years we've had all levels of traumas, lots of little ones, far too many of those middle sized ones, and some rather large life and livelihood threatening ones. I typically don't talk about all of it, but can't tell if I'm numb or suppressing. Like you, I try to put my focus on the lovely bits in life and occasionally take time to reflect on what these things are here to teach me so there is some level of working through, adjusting, and adapting. Hi Wendy, glad to hear you’re on the mend. I know it’s cold in the UK but if you can get out in your garden in bare feet, even for a few minutes and do some earthing, that should help with your knees and your mental health. When I put my back out last year, I earthed at a park near us for just over an hour and I had 6 hours of being pain-free. It was wonderful. I can’t wait till I have a garden again so I can earth every day. 😊❤

I too have been through bad pain since the start of January, with first a swollen wrist, then a pulled shoulder, which was such a worry, living on my own with my dog, as I could hardly dress/undress. Then the wrist came up again, and then moved to the base of my thumb and forefinger. I rang the doctor, and she thought it may be carpel tunnel syndrome mixed with some osteoarthritis! The shoulder is much better now, and the thumb and forefinger seem to be getting better these last few days. I am always so thankful of my life, and this was a surprise out of the blue. I am so pleased that you are feeling a lot better now, and I do hope that you will feel like driving again in the future, as it is your freedom, as I have said before. I had to let my car go, as my anxiety would not let me go out in it, without being sick after about 10 mins of driving, and also there was no way I could afford to run a car now. So I stay at home, as I have done now since 2000, and only go out to walk Madge, or take the rubbish to the end of the lane. As long as I get the occasional human being to talk to, I am quite happy living this way. But I know you will want to get out and about as soon as you can, and hope that it can happen soon. Blessings and love and hugs, and a warm lick from Madge, from Jilly & Madge, in West Devon, England. xxx

Beautiful update message Wendy and we're so grateful you're alright. These car accidents can happen in a flash and 'blinding sun' a real issue. I have started to wear mild sunglasses to cut the glare if it's too bright out. Take it gentle and slow, healing love to your knees and let the gratitude come over you each day - as you allow so well. My dear Wendy I am sending you the softest hugs and healing energy your way for continued healthy body in the physical and mental well being. You keep doing what you are doing. Gratitude and self care is at the top of the list for wellness.
The garden is a sanctuary that will bring you so much delightful and peaceful moments and will make you smile. The hellebores are beautiful color in your garden, and the birds are just so very very happy. I have birdfeeders in my courtyard and I love to watch the antics of all of them as they make me laugh sometimes out loud. If at some point, you can get a little water fountain That you could either plug into an outside socket or if you get a lot of sun out there with a little solar fountain pump, the birds will love it and you’ll get so much joy from watching them get water in them. I have two in my courtyard, and while they can be a pain to clean, they’re worth every penny. I spent on them.
I am so thankful that you had such kind people surround you when you had your mishap, and that the gentleman that owned the van was kind and gentle and caring towards you as well. That helps in the feeling of inadequacy that you may have felt at the time of the accident. You were not stupid in anyway, and I know how that afternoon sun can be blinding, which for me when I go see my daughter in law and son and the family, I have a hat with a little bit of a brim that comes over my eyes, that kinda shades, the sun from blinding myself that works.to keep the sun from making it hard to see. Just something to think about.
I’ve slowly been getting caught up on stuff that I could not do when I was sick for 3 weeks with Covid, sorting stuff for charity shops, getting rid of duplicates or stuff not used in at least a couple of yrs, now going to write a list room by room that I want to accomplish over the next six months. Also a bit of art work, and been reading some too.
Take care my dear Wendy. Keep up with taking it easy but do get out a bit when you can. I find walking is good, fresh air important and I too am a homebody. I have to force myself to be around people sometimes, and so glad I have my little dog Lilly Rose to keep me company.
So glad James is so comforting and loving to you. He is a jewel of a man. God bless you and that your strength and courage along with your confidence continue to improve. Love and hugs to you. Hello to James too. ❤❤❤💫✨😘🤗🧚🏻🧚‍♀️🧚🏻‍♂️🌹🍀🙏🔥

I am so sad to hear about your accident. But you are taking a wonderful attitude about it. I know that that takes a lot of self work. I have PTSD and in my studies I learned that the first thing that you have to do is to accept whatever it is that you are faced with then find an action that you want to take and then you take the action and you have done this beautifully. So proud of you. I am just getting over shingles that started the first of December and now I have sprained the muscles in my chest from coughing so hard. So I am having to learn like you how to rest my body because it's the only way they will get well. Do you know how many times you use the muscles in your chest love your new house and that sunroom is divine and the birds I love them. Blessings and love always from New Mexico

Dear Wendy, I've been missing you so was really happy to see you today. Car accidents are so awful - I've been blinded by the sun too but luckily nothing to run into. I think we who live with so many days in shade and rain have a harder time getting used to sun.
I love your new home and garden! You've made it so cozy and beautiful and a good place to rest. I've had plenty of times nursing bad knees - so can sympathize.
    Love you - Happy Valentine's day❤

Hello Wendy 👋. You have spoken some wise words. I am so pleased your OK and going through the healing process at your own pace. What a beautiful little studio you have at home and over looking the garden. A perfect place to heal. I had a car miss hap 5 years ago, not my fault. Minor injuries but one lady mor severely. A person decided not to stop at temporary traffic lights. My doctor gave me some advice to get driving again as soon as you feel able. It is a scary experience but humour, gratitude, nature and love is 5he perfect medicine. Sending gentle hugs and healing vibes to you Wendy. ❤🙏💫🌈. We shall see you soon but when you feel ready X

Many years ago I had car trouble and left my car at my parent's so my dad could fix it. My mom let me borrow her car. Her dream car. Her baby. It was an 8 cylinder. A heavy front end and it shits and gets as they say. The on-ramps near their house are dubbed "death traps" because they give 10 feet to merge with traffic going mach 10, exaggerating of course. I had that same thing happen as you. I looked forward, everyone was hauling ass in front of me. I looked back to check oncoming traffic. I looked back forward, sun in my face, all cars in front halted to a complete stop just that fast. I ran into the car in front of me, a tin can compared to my mom's car, like a tank. I hit him so hard I pushed him into the truck in front of him. Also a tank. Totaled his souped up car, blew all his air bags. He screamed at me, "Why did you do it!:?!?!" He was so mad at me. The cops said I didn't even try to stop. (I didn't have time to even reflex.)
I totaled my mom's car. The front end was pushed back halfway up the body. We think if I hadn't had my seat belt on I might've gone through the windshield. I almost didn't wear it that day, but something told me to put it on. The EMTs made me go to the hospital, but I told them I was fine. I was. The wreck was so bad they made me go. Nobody got hurt though. Amazingly enough.
But the fear is real. After the hospital my family took me to see my mom's car. We all went to get her stuff out. On. the ride there the mini van we were in lurched and jumped with the highways we were on and it was all I could do not to freak out. My family could see the fear on me. I've rarely if ever borrowed another person's car since then. My family gave me shit for years, but it took me a long time to stop feeling bad about it. I used to be a more confident driver, but that changed me for life. I still get nervous when people tailgate. I think you have a great approach to healing. And James is right. You must go back out and face it as soon as possible. As soon as you can and are ready. Otherwise the fear will consume you. Keep downplaying it. It was an innocent mistake many people have made. You are still a fantastic driver, just a bit more careful now. But no less worthy of it. ❤🙏🏻

Aww, Wendy, it's such a shock to get in a wreck. Many years ago, when i was a brand new driver, someone was driving down the road with a telephone book on top of his car. I was so busy trying to let him know that i didn't see that the car in front of me had stopped, and i plowed right into him. It totally blew my confidence. I was also injured as well. It's such a horrible feeling. Sending you hugs.

Sending healing energy and comfort. My first ever car wreck was with "sun blindness" and running into the back of a parked car at a light. I 100% get it and understand. Something that seems like such a trivial mistake causing an accident really does errode your self confidence in driving. Like, if something so simple caused me to wreck, how am I going to handle a more dramatic situation? It is very difficult to explain. I was 17 years old and 30 years later, I am still a nervous driver because of it. ❤ you are not alone.

Wendy Dear. When I had the same kind of "mishap", it took me a long time to understand the emotions that I struggled with. The 2 that took me longest to recover from were shame and guilt. We have to be able to give ourselves some slack and .....forgive. Forgive ourselves for making a mistake. We love you. I hope your knees get better soon and your heart sooner.

Do you SEE all the love being sent your way? Do you SEE how people feel connected to you (and James') life? You're blessed with so many precious folks who truly care about YOU--all of you.
So you keep tending to your knees and your brain pathways and know we're all sending love, light and healing to you from our little corner of the world.
And do know you're not along on the 'mishap' issue. Nor are you alone on the birdsong and rest.
Never alone, Wendy. Even if you're needing a break from the world wide web--folks are still thinking about you and sending positive thoughts and energy......and there ain't nothin' you can do about it! Hahahahaha!!
    *hugs and giggles*

you are such an inspiration. You are exactly what I imagine my best friend would be and how I would like to be seen in the world, a little quirky, a little whimsical, full of joy and self-awareness, finding beauty wherever you may go. I was in an accident 2 years ago where I rear-ended the person in front of me at a red light and every month when I have to pay my higher insurance premium I am reminded of my distracted mind and how it hurts me still to this day. I try to combat it with all the times I have driven and haven't gotten in an accident but having that one can surely through you for a loop. I am sorry you are having to deal with that. I wish you the best of luck buying a new to you car. Next month I will be doing the same. I have been under a creative block since last October when I had 3 fairs in a row not sell anything at all. I sort of gave up and decided the world didn't want what I created. I have been struggling since to get my mojo back but it hasn't been easy. Your videos inspire me to do more, to be more, to create more, to live my life more, and to be more of my freaky fairy self. We are all unique and I wouldn't want to be a boring unique so I look to people like you to inspire me to be whimsical unique. Welcoming, inclusive, creative, fun, and just yummy! Thank you so much for sharing your world with me. I feel they are personal letters from a lifelong friend and I honor each video with my full attention and appreciation. I'm working on shining up my light so it's a little brighter, clearer, and full of color. Thank You for inspiring me to be a better version of myself than the default, oh poor me, life is so hard, nobody likes me, kind of thoughts I battle every day.

A few days before Christmas I was driving back home late in the evening after running lots of errands. I was exhausted and had a headache. All of a sudden, while I was waiting for green light at a traffic intersection, for one split second my brain confused red with green and I proceeded forward only to quickly pull back after realizing that I almost got myself into a total disaster! I was in shock and couldn't believe that something like that could ever happen to me! My heart was jumping out of my chest! We should always find parking and take a nap in the car when we are tired, we should never drive when we are exhausted! Just like you, I had some sort of ptsd after this. I came home, prayed to God and gave thanks for my life and that I didn't harm anyone else's life. It took a month to drive comfortably again, I was too cautious and constantly on the lookout.

We have a gentle hill from our house and I have to dip down low to see where I’m going at this time of year, even worse if there is frost as well as sun. Your bird feeder seems to be popular; ours remains unvisited these last two months (popular with the resident garden squirrel though). I have given up trying to chase the squirrel and put out things for him on our wall so he leaves the bird feeder for the birds….hopefully. Wishing you a speedy recovery xx
