Bought this on the way back to US and popped it with friends in California. Liked it so much bought another 2 on that way back to Europe. The price was 95 Euros. Cheers all.
I believe this is only available at a brick and mortar store in the USA at airport duty-free shops. You are only able to buy this product if you have an international flight. Of course you can find it on the secondary market for a considerable amount over MSRP.
The ex-Oloroso finished Am. Single malt travel exclusive is $100/1.0L, so your bottle seems appropriately high-priced. If you read the fine print it will talk about sherry barrels.
Nobody talks about for this price you get 1 litre not 0.7... It is not overpriced or just slightly. Anyway most of the airports in EU I saw it 95-100 euros.
I’d imagine a big part of the reason why it tastes so different and a lot more intense than a Scotch probably has to do with the climate it’s aged in and the growing conditions of the malt. Tennessee being in the south of the United States is much warmer than Scotland and whisk(e)y matures much quicker in hotter climates. Not just the growing conditions of the malt but probably the oak trees that the barrels are made of too.
I bought the bottle to try it, and honestly I found it a disappointment, it doesn't look like a single malt whiskey at all, it's nothing more than a bourbon with a vinous finish. for 100 dollars, you can find much better things.
I’ve never seen or heard about this one before (living in New England - Maine). I’ve also never tried any American single malt, assuming they’re all just pale imitations of Scotch. I’m gonna have to pick up a bottle of Westland or Westward though, just to see what I’m missing.

So it's no longer a duty free exclusive?

Good review!
is it barley malt?
Yes it is 100% malted barley
I was surprised to learn how good the singles are from both Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. Their limited runs are clean and smooth
Cheers, Happy New year
