It's hard to imagine people can survive decades underground and then come up to sights like this, the world we know reduced to a mere shadow of it's former self. How depressing it must've been, I wonder how many suicides those Vaults had?
what I learn from FO4 is: even if the surface is rotten, there still is a beautiful sunset
A lot of the people who came out of the Vaults hadn't actually seen what the pre-war world looked aside from pictures (if at all). They were probably still in awe to see trees (despite them being bare in some cases) and a crawling landscape that seemed to reach on forever. They would have been impressed by the sky too, having spent their lives under ceilings and between walls.

and you and your traveling companions have to take refuge
for a few days here because it's clouding up and looks like
a couple of days for rain and you can't travel in the rain especially
when you have more than one person traveling with you and those
who have to rest a lot.

You pick the best place and really there isn't a best place here at all
but you decide to stay inside the house that has a good roof and no
leaks and no cold air getting in so you are settled in for the night and
you all have a small meal of beef jerky, potato chips, guacamole dip,
a couple of bananas and either water or root beer to drink then you
settle in for the night.

While the others are asleep inside you and another stay up as sentries
and guard the area but nothing is out in the storm that is heading this
way and you can rest but still stay on your guard so you take care and
