Far Harbor was the crown of the Fallout 4 experience. Bethesda showed their A game here. Atmosphere, writing, level design, music. That DLC was joy to experience.
lot of locations in the island felt empty. empty boxes etc. it felt like it was pushed out in a rush without adding love to details. in general I love the DLC :)

I listen to this while writing my law thesis. Always been a huge fallout fan and Far Harbor represents the absolute bets of Fallout 4. Brings back several features of older titles and the atmosphere, soundtrack it works really well. This soundtrack is one of the best of the entire franchise
I am currently dealing with the death of some loved ones that all happened at once. The thing I love about all of the Fallout soundtracks is that they are somehow sad and hopeful at the same time and that really reflects how I feel and want to feel. Anyway hope you are enjoying your new career!
@@viktorodehnal5959 congratulations on your success so far. I am working on some big projects for my bachelor's in finance right now. Glad to be here studying with your past self lol
Massive Fallout 4 fan and player here. My girlfriend and I have actually fallen asleep to this audio for an uncountable amount of months now. The comforting feeling that far harbor atmosphere is amazing. I love it
when i first got to far harbor. i always knew I'll end up spending so many time on the Island. Also the freaking ambiance is just absolutely amazing. I can't wait to play this game again.
I waited whole summer so I could head to foggy shore in morning to listen that :) That fits so well on one nearby foggy shore that has plywood mill shining lights through the fog.
I just wish I can delete only all the things that happened in Far Harbor and just re-enter this place once again, fresh start, it's the best experience in FO4 for me. The vibe, the atmosphere and these awesome ambient soundtracks kal;sdkal; gah I love this place! I took Nick with me and well, it turned out well anyway...but really, I'm glad I took him since the conversation between him and DiMA were so good and interesting.
52:24 this track is one of the most memorable for me. It's a reprise of the Institute music "Imagine Utopia", reflecting the shadow the Institute casts on Acadia
This really gets my creative mind going! I wonder what the theme will be for my next peice of art, maybe pirates and endless journeys across the oceans. But hey, with new world coming out soon it may be the best time to embody the vibe.
Yep, that sad but beautiful little melody IS Far Harbor to me. God, Far Harbor might just be my favorite Fallout experience. It's up there with New Vegas. Far Harbor is what happens when Bethesda gets their writing right. They actually managed to write characters who feel human, characters you can have long conversations with about life, death, morality. Such an incredible DLC.
New Vegas is behind 3 and 4 for me, and I've played them all recently. It's basically just a FO3 dlc, and is only good because it's in the Creation engine with the Fallout license.
@@hihosilver1234 You really don't play New Vegas, then. The RPG elements, the characters, the philosophical themes, the level progression system... everything was better than FO3 and especially FO4 except the map design.
@@nxarior new Vegas fans are tho most delusional people. It's literally a cash grab clone of FO3, yet it's fanbase doesn't acknowledge that. I love NV, but that's what it is. It's fanbase is the worst most toxic bunch of haters tho. Ew.
my first playthrough of this dlc i ended up just listening to some playlist on youtube in the background and kept the music muted, like a year later i start another playthrough and didn't mute the music and i was just stunned.
Out of curiosity, is your profile picture Koishi from the Touhou Project? Also, when playing a Bethesda game, never mute the music or you'll miss out on the new music in DLC's.
Is it weird that I 'bog down' in a settlement here and get my knitting out to chill with the ambience?? btw the Settlement is at Longfellow's Cabin....
Just started a character & went straight to Far Harbor. Living with Longfellow, whom i have adopted as my Grandpa & we live close enough to town to swim to. Mitch & Debbie arguing about Tink the cat is comical & Cassie Dalton always has the most mysterious stories.
I play on Survival mode, and on my playthrough involving my character being a Child of Atom, I needed to complete the first quest to get a Gamma Gun and a Radium Rifle easily. I swear, I died 6-12 times sneaking into the shrine, running away from the ghouls by just jumping it, and then going back to the Nucleus, ANNND then, I needed to reach a bed. I was an idiot because I thought there were no beds in the Nucleus, so I went to the plane crash with the awesome friendly Supermutant and his dogs. . . It. Took. So. Long. I left Far Harbour and had to go halfway across the map cuz I didn't do much exploration, so I had barely any safe places to go. I'm happy I'm back at my soon-to-be shrine I'm building at Starlight Drivethrough thingy. *Running away from a hoard of ghouls is the most scary thing ever. My heart pounded.*
I listened to this soundtrack while reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy and I can say it was a totally immersive and profound experience. A desolate and gray atmosphere that I completely recommend. Keeping the playlist on loop was a bit like playing Minecraft - a somewhat random musical experience but creating unforgettable moments of connection with the work. Especially the song at 15:02.
I just wish they updated the engine and brought back Chris Avellone. Bethesda has the money, but they don't put all their effort into it and it always fails in some aspects, if not all of them. If they did all those three, they really could be making some at least near masterpieces that would be well received and well liked for years to come.
A very ominous looking place here isn't it, oh, it's not that bad of a place it's just as of late there have been some things happening not bad things yet that is but given time these small things will eventually escalate into big things.... If come here for refuge or to escape the unseen enemies following you best you keep an eye out for the unseen things hiding out here so keep your guns locked and loaded and your swords and knives sharp cause you never know what will be creeping around the corner, so stay alert and stay safe and stay as long as you can and then move on to your next destination, take care.
i waited too long to buy this DLC. Far Harbor looks long dead, but it's so creepy and alive. there are old mysteries lying right under the surface just waiting to be uncovered and solved.
I love this! It's great to listen to while studying. Do you think you could do some more from other Fallout games, like 3 and New Vegas? Keep up the good work!!
I always enjoyed turning the sawmill into a full fledge settlement. What a calming location, a beacon of light within the dark fog where people can gather, work together to build something, while protected by auto missile launchers just in case.
Love Far Harbor. BGS has always made hands down my favorite dlc content, which I consider to be the highest quality. I've played all of it for each of their games and loved each piece of content. Even the Horse Armor for Oblivion lol. Jk I never bought that one, but Oblivion had great DLC too.
Some of the best riding in video game history in my opinion, I will never forget the moment that I walked into the nucleus, and realized that it was a fully intact sub, chalked fool with fanatical religious people with guns and armor from a long, dead world
Fallout 4 is a bad Fallout game, but Far Harbor is a proof imo that Bethesda can make a good Fallout setting. I feel like they tried to go back to the rpg roots on this DLC and had to try to get around the lack of freedom Fallout 4 gives you mechanics wise. Just as a standalone game Far Harbor is a great one
Nah I've played every Fallout, and 4 is hands down my fav and the best, with FO3 being a very close second. Just because YOU think it's bad DOESN'T MEAN it's ACTUALLY BAD. I talk to tons of people who play Fallout 4 regularly for years and love playing it for hundreds of hours.

Well, the DiMA Puzzles were a pain.
Except the DiMA puzzles and some other stuff, this actually felt like fallout, it was incredible, better than the entire game.
They're all do overs of older shite. Mechanist was in FO3 and Far Harbor is the same idea as Point Lookout.
