The pedestrian streets are narrow and lined with shops, restaurants, hotels and inns near the rail station. Homes and houses are scattered throughout, some perched on the lower edge of the mountains.
For a very long time Switzerland and the Alps have been among the most beautiful regions, sought by millions of tourists from all parts of the world. They display the greatest mountains and valleys in their grandest form and have a special charm that is most seductive.
Zermatt is considered Switzerland's most popular visitor destination getting about 2 million visitors a year. So depending on the time of day or the season, this village could get pretty crowded. You might want to come in the shoulder season. Month of May is perfect, if it's late May, especially. Early May you might run into snow on the trails and that gets in the way of your hiking. Late May and early September are pretty much the perfect times to be here.
Zermatt is well-equipped to handle a large number of visitors they get, with 130 hotels in the main village area, not to mention bed-and-breakfasts and other hotels in nearby towns. Many people just come for the day, you can arrive by train in the morning, walk around, although that's not recommended. There's so much to see and do in Zermatt you really want to spend a couple of nights - at least two or even three nights would be very nice. They have got 70 ski lifts if you're a skier, especially in the wintertime they're all functioning. In the summer as we have seen up on the Klein Matterhorn you can ski all year round. And naturally this is heaven for serious rock climbers there. You'll see people with their ropes and spikes in pickaxes walking down the main lane heading for the hills.
Thank you for your short movies on Switzerland I just went there on the last week of August 2022 till the second week of September 2022 I will go there again.

This video made me book a holiday to Zermatt - going in August, can't wait.
I have a question, how common is altitude sickness? Were your tour group ill at all or was everyone okay?
Hi Abi,
I'm pleased I could nudge you into such a grand place. Altitude is no problem in the town, as you probably realize, at 5,000 feet, but the peaks are 10-12,000 so it could be a minor factor, but I think you'll be fine. Nearly everyone has no problem. Just don't stand up suddenly from a squat, or run up the stairs. You will love it! My Zermatt playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLke86NFI6R8xxAxtL3yBmSHF4kxWatMRw

Dennis just a suggestion that when you cover anything in Switzerland you need to address Indian as they are always there in every video of yours and I know they travel often to Swizz...... Hope that message was not offensive.
It's true, Indians do love Switzerland, and some of my biggest overall audience is in India, thank you India! I find they are polite, happy and respectful travelers who just love those mountains, cool weather, clean cities, and calm, well-organized activities.
denniscallan Thanks for your reply, I have been many parts of Europe but Switzerland is still to come and your videos would help me in planning my itinerary ... Hope I also get to meet you someday 😀
this is so awesome ! does anyone know the song at 24.00 !
what is the cost of trummelbachfall entry
Make a Google search for admission. As I recall, children under 12 years old enter for free.
Another excellent video with outstanding explanations. Pity that not in 4K.
Yeah, well most of it is 1080p which still looks good, but now I'm shooting 4k, so maybe I'll get back there next year.
Excellent. Your outstanding videos really deserve 4K resolution. For the best in the small 4K video cameras I'd suggest Sony AX100 but Sony AX53 is better stabilized.
I always strive for the cutting edge, so I purchased the 4K professional SONY FS5 last year, a wonderful camera with excellent features, and used it on two Europe trips already. Your AX100 suggestion is also good for a compact budget camera, but I love the interchangeable lens and feel of the FS5. Fortunately I began shooting in HD 10 years ago, and have lots of high-quality footage waiting to be edited. While 4K is better (especially on my LG 65 OLED), 1080p still looks so good it seems you are looking out a recently-washed window.
Even on HDTV the 4K looks much sharper than 1080p.You have Sony PXV-FS5 which is marvelous, pro grade video camera, therefore in my opinion it is really pity that you don't publish at full 4K resolution. I assume that you have a pro cameraman which records your fantastic documentaries. I've exchanged my Sony FDR-AX100 for better stabilized AX53. For "easy walking" I obtained this week a Sony RX100M5 with 1" sensor. A good stabilization is very important for me, therefore I've also a DJI Osmo. This gimbal small camera has outstanding results with very sharp and smooth 4K videos. It is especially suitable for in motion recordings.Best regards.Adam
As I mentioned, my previous vids are not 4K, so it is not "really a pity" I don't publish them in 4K, and please don't be so condescending -- I don't need your pity. I have uploaded a few of my newer 4K videos about the Netherlands, at 4K res, and will be uploading more in the future. Meanwhile, 1080p looks very good. We work with what we've got. When I have 4K I will upload in 4K. bit.ly/2pw5u7d
Top de baratin ! filmez et laisser et simplement regarder, ce sera beaucoup mieux ! Ce n'est plus dure reportage, mais de la simple publicité commerciale pour les commerçants de Zermatt! !!!

Dude you rule
😘🤗
why do I get the feeling that the women at 2:06 don't want you filming them. lol
I was filming in the main public pedestrian street and they walked into the shot, but they hardly noticed and could care less. They were pulling suitcases, looking for their hotel.
@@denniscallan better watch it again. I saw the look they gave you. lol
2:23 Ahh yes , luggage
