@DEWadict some early u2 was pretty good theres some stuff on war and october that is great- but i agree for the most part! For my money its a draw between the jam the clash and the damned -though id put the undertones in close running!
When will people ever learn...this is NOT pop, this is PUNKROCK. Listen to the Buzzcocks, 999, The Boys or The Ramones, just to name a few. Punkrock in it's original form always was with a chatchy melody. Some people got wrong with bands like the sex pistols or the clash...they never were real punk bands. That is what real punk was about...fun, girls and so on and not political statements or no future neither anarchy
well, theyre not better than the clash, simply because the clash covered a multitude of genres and did more than just give them justice. but i agree with you on the u2 part, u2 is terrible. all they do is have bono see how long he can hold a syllable, so then people dont realize teh shoddy musicianship.
