- A poem I wrote about a quiet morning in my living room with sunbeams, Oscar kitty, clouds in the sky, and mindfulness The structure of the poem is inspired by "Requerdo" by Edna St. Vincent Millay.
Contento
Paul Klusman
I was sitting still, it was quiet in the room,
I was gazing out the window from morning 'till noon.
A sunbeam crept along the floor of the place,
And bounced off a wall and warmed my face.
The cat ate breakfast and gave himself a bath,
Then slept in the middle of the sunbeam's path.
I was sitting still, it was quiet in the room,
I was gazing out the window from morning 'till noon.
The clouds in the sky hung over the town,
And watched over us as the morning came down,
Against the burning blue, all thin and white,
And drifting and dancing in slow delight.
I was sitting still, it was quiet in the room,
I was gazing out the window from morning 'till noon.
The hours slipped away like grains of sand,
Pouring out of time and sifting through my hand.
I asked the morning, "Should I be somewhere, somehow?"
The morning replied, "Right here and right now." Животные
Love the longer hair.
I think Edna St. Vincent Millay would be honored to be a part of such a heartfelt moment with Oscar. Thank you for sharing this moment with us.
Love to you and Oscar and your other floof-children.
You have a beautiful head of hair now.
And your poem is great too. A sweet little poem.
You should gather your stories and poems for a book.
You have not slipped, Paul. We all love you and Oscar
Love it. Enjoy all of those minutes with Oscar, soaking in the sun.
I love this mindfulness poem about your cat’s present moment awareness. Brilliant 😻😺
What a lovely poem! Thank you for sharing!
I lifted my coffee mug in a salute to "The hours slipped away like grains of sand, pouring out of time and sifting through my hand." Wish I'd written that!
Where would I be without this channel. ? its so low key. And a mixture of lovely songs and words, alternating with a stunningly pure genius/insanity. And .. the silver thread tying all these together? ….the love of cats
That was a beautifully written poem. Thanks for sharing it with us. You are a man of many talents! 🐈👍🏻☀️
I only follow you here and my wife in Facebook, she told me that Oscar has been having issues with his urinary tract, I hope he is better, we also have a senior female kitty with chronic health issues and we are in constant vigilance of her mood and actions. We love you guys!!!
Thank you for Contento. It speaks what's in my heart.
March 3rd I finally got my first cat as an adult after a 28 year wait. I cried in happiness when I got Baxter home from the shelter. Baxter means 'bread maker' and his biscuits are to die for ;) I wake up with a smile on my face and peace in my soul, from the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet, and I end each day the same way. I don't know how I survived this long without a cat of my own. My family thinks I'm a bit coo-coo over Baxter but he has done my heart a world of good by just being his silly, sweet self.
Thank you for expressing in so many ways the wonder and joy of your cats. Absolute Contento.
Congrats on bringing home your new friend! As for anyone, even family, who thinks you're coocoo for anything, who cares what they think??? It doesn't change anything!
Enjoy many years of happy!!!😽😻😸
Wonderful poem, serene and relaxing. Loved Oscar in the sunshine 🐱
Beautiful poem, inspired by beautiful Oscar! Love your new look!
Thank you, Paul! Your poems continue to touch me and make me think.
This would be great text for a kids picture book. Lovely images like good night moon.
Cats are our gentle purring reminder that we should live in the moment because every moment is precious. (p.s. I like the Michael MacDonald vibe you got going. It suits you.)
Paul, this ode to Kitty Oscar is simply wonderful.
Thank you.
I love your poem. Hope you are doing well.
Beautiful poetry Mr. Paul. Says to me sometimes just being is enough, we don't have to be constantly doing something with our precious time. Cats are masters of this, of course.
Sweet baby Oscar ❤
Beautiful! Thank you. I have spent most of this morning gazing out at the lovely day... Right here, right now... ❤ 🐈
What a beautiful and powerful poem!
I am so sorry about Oscar. Big hugs.
Ohhh. The best. And, Paul, thats what time with cats does for me at its best. -Right here right now. A place most if us these days rarely visit. Im writing this out for my wall. Just for me. I hope thats ok-? - i send donations.

That is so beautiful. Thank you very, very much. ❤
Lovely. Thank You so much for sharing 😊
Such a lovely poem and such a handsome muse Oscar kitty. Thank you for sharing this, I've had a crappy day and this cheered me up so much! Thank you!
Very nice, Paul.
And you have a proper poet's haircut, too!
I absolutely love this poem. It's been a hard year for me, and stress/anxiety have made it difficult to just sit in the moment, especially when I'm spending time with my cats. I want to print this and frame it on my wall in my office as a reminder to take that time.
You have a lovely voice sir. Thank you for the poem 😊
Adored it, the word contento can both mean content, as "in a state of peaceful happiness.", or just happy without the peaceful part
Beautiful Paul. I like the longer hair on you.
Beautiful, and such a lovely reminder to us all to enjoy the moment we are in right now. Also think the hair suits you 😊
You two take as much time as you can.
OMG, I'm crying!
😻🐾🐾🐾
Bravo!
Lovely.
Purrfect. ❤️
Lovely. ❤️
💕

So beautiful ❤
Omg that was so beautiful 🥲🥲
You look great with long hair!
This is another of your poems that I’m going to write into my journal! How is Oscar doing? Is he still with you? My cat does not need an mri so for now we are good
The long hair suits you!
