- Original short poem. I was working on this before Luka got adopted. It got stalled out in my brain for a little bit but now it's finished. I love him even though he isn't here anymore. His new family reports he is very happy and they love him as well.
To a Black Cat
Paul Klusman
Twinkle twinkle little black
Panther in my home
How you shine in morning’s light
Where the sunbeams roam
Twinkle twinkle coiled spring
My ankles catch your eye
Waiting for attack
As I'm walking by
Twinkle twinkle twelve o’clock
At the window sill
Your steely eyes watching
Quiet stealthy still
Twinkle twinkle afternoon
Sleeping in repose
Twitching eyes and whiskers
Galloping little toes
Twinkle twinkle late at night
The day is growing old
Blending into shadows
Two rings of glowing gold
Twinkle twinkle good luck charm
You ebony feline art
I’m glad you crossed my path
I love you cross my heart Животные

A piece of you will always go with your fosters to their new homes. You are brave Paul, and you have such a big heart those pieces won't be missed, for they are held in your loved fosters' hearts for safekeeping . 💜💜💜💜💜
A lovely tribute to a beautiful kitty. I also had my heart stolen by a black house panther, who left not for a new home but for the rainbow bridge. We'll meet again. Happy for Luka and his new family. Thanks for taking good care of him.
Just beautiful Paul. I hope Luka is doing well in his new home. ❤
I'm told he is doing great!
❤ Everyone needs a tiny panther in their life. Such beautiful souls!
Black cats are the best!
Oh my god, those last two lines really hit me in the feels. 💓
You have captured the magic that is the everyday cat. Thanks for your insightful poetry.
Love it! And so do my two black cats. 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛
Awww. Such a sweet way to honor that special little boy
Nice, Paul. I wonder if Luka is creating paper art in his new home.
Little beasties!
Fostering is a special experience. I fostered both cats and dogs for awhile. Sometimes the families would text me photos a year or so after which i really enjoyed. I like your hair in it's current state.
This is so sweet! Loves for Luka in his new home!
A heartfelt “awwww” for a beautifully written poem! 🥰 🐈⬛
What a lovely poem for a lovely gentleman of a panther kitty. I'm glad to hear he is very happy with his new family. Perhaps they will let you visit Luka from time to time?
Wonderful poem! And a great update on Luka! 😻
💖💖💖💖
Thank you Paul.
I'm so happy I got to see this this soon.
I loved your videos from many moons back, and I felt so lucky then to 'meet' someone who could articulate what was so wonderful about cats, and at the same time, display the emotional richness that comes from observing , loving, and knowing, their animal friends. This video is exactly that, a testament to observation, knowing, and emotional engagement, in a loving way. Like a funny story someone tells about someone remarkable they met years before, who they never saw again, but helped them gain some insight or knowledge. Thank you for continuing to share these very personal insights with all of us.
Thank you so much. This was lovely to read and encouragement is always appreciated!
Black cats are the best, but then I am a hooman slave to three 😹 Your poem is so sweet and the picture at 0:48 is just 🤌
this made me miss my tortie - she was mostly black while young then the orange came out more and more til finally she could not wait for me to come home, she passed on in my husband's arms. this was during time when we all could not travel. they all leave their paw prints in our hearts dont they. by the way i know the cat in the video is still around. 😀
Beautiful. My first cat was black.
😥👍👍👍👍👏👏😻😻
Wonderful!
I consider them lucky
Nice tribute for Luka... How about Ashley? How is she doing in her new home? Any mews?
I don't hear anything about Ash. I presume she is doing well. She adapted to her new home pretty much immediately.
i could never foster. i'd have 20 cats.
