Mr Curry Not at all, I know a few people who gets A's now but were the under-achievers as kids. The top graders really have strong and determined mindsets
specifications are a god send! just last night me and my sister were wondering how our history courses were different (because i am doing the new 9-1 course) and the spec tells you everything you have to know! i was baffled! it really helped me to realise what i had to know!
+ Luke Laing International Baccalaureate program. It is offered at many schools around the world, typically at international schools and at schools with several students who wants to go on studying in other countries.
IB!! ---- was it really difficult? I just started it in January this year and it's definitely a step up from year 10, but it's not too bad yet haha. Does it get more difficult in second year?
+Moon Dragon in my country the IB (diploma programme) is year 12-13! At my school, the teachers try to cram the bulk of the load onto students in year one, so that they have a year to actually learn the stuff afterwards. It took a while to figure out exactly how the IB wants things done (like litterary essays, chem/physics tests etc), but you get into it. At least I did :P And I love that perfection is not required. 70-80% is usually enough for a 7.
Georgia Edwards for music theory i find big flashcards so useful. On one side you have the classical period etc and then you have around 5 or 6 key things, a composer, time period. You can use smaller ones for key terms and bigger ones for whole pieces. I know you didn't ask for my input but thought you might like it anyway.
Thank you so much for this I really needed this. First year of a levels and I literally collapsed during my mock week out of stress and not sleeping and eating This really helped!
Oh thank you so much!! I'm not in college but I'm a freshman in STEM for highschool, and they're giving us college courses our first year. The advice you give is really helpful 😊
I am so glad to see someone like you talk about their education and what their experience was like. The things that you say make us all feel a little less weird. No matter what we say out loud, we all care about our grades, and let me tell you I had some sleepless nights because I was so stressed at times... when I look back, I realise that that stress was a good thing. It made me work a little harder. Education gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. Oh, Do I sound really old??? ;-)
I’ve just started my a-levels (all the sciences) and your channel has really helped me get into the correct mindset for sixth form !! And these tips make so much sense
thanks Holly. Really helps coz im writing IGCSE's next year but I also found a handy site called ZNotes where the notes you need are simplified and only the crucial notes are there.
I love it how your channel is growing so quickly!! More than 40k and I remember when it was only 15 or so 😍 you're so smart and hard-working and deserve the best what life can give you
you remind me so much of my form tutor, which is a good thing because she’s absolutely lovely buuutttttt she’s perfect and you’re beyond perfect and i’m so unbearably jealous 😂😩 also, i’m the same with making mistakes. they’re my worst nightmare, even though making mistakes doesn’t matter at all right now as i’ve only just chosen my gcses lol. this is great advice and i’m thankful, but my only problem is that i’m a huge procrastinator and not motivated at all to revise. i’ve never revised for a test in my life. i’m such a negative person and it doesn’t help at all. it’s irritating because i know that if i carry on with this mentality into next year, i will no doubt fail all my exams in two years time. sorry for the waffling; my mind exploded as i kept thinking of more things to say. anyway, thank you so much for the advice. i’ll forever worship your videos 😌 &&&&&&& i actually sometimes wish that i could be a goat because they’re so chill all the time and it seems as though they’re always having the best time and they don’t let anything faze them and they can climb trees like i can’t climb a tree but goats can. how cool is that aha? goats are great. 😂💗
Could u do study tips for college/ uni I'm doing nursing and science subjects are hard like I don't know if I'm supposed to read over it write it ect there's just so much bulk and I feel like when I'm studying it takes me so long to learn a short paragraph word for word could u do a vid I don't think reading is working :/
Thank you for this!!! I'm doing the same subjects at A2 as you did, and need A*AA to do Natural Sciences at uni. Your tips are super helpful, I'd love you to do more videos on your A Levels
You’re an inspiration Holly, thanks for the video. By the way could you please please please do another study with me video, because the last one just motivated me sooo much.
Great video and amazing advice! I know it isn’t really your thing but could you do a video on your skin care? Can’t help but notice that your skin is so clear 🙈
thank you so much for this video! I'm moving on to junior college this year & I got so stressed out about how I am going to deal with the school work and exams but what you said really motivated and assured me that I can get through jc :)(with hardwork of course!) I'm glad that after I watched your video, I can approach jc with a more positive attitude. thanks
Yo guys are the specifications basically the syllabus? Because I searched up specifications of chemistry and other subjects but I could not really find them. I also searched up General Principals which is the heading of her specifications, but all I found was the syllabus. And anyway, her specifications said Pearson Edexcel and I'm not doing Edexcel, so should I just print out the syllabus for all the subjects I'm taking?
its funny listening to the part about past papers when you say you can see which questions come up time and time again when the a-levels have been revamped and there's like 4 past papers. and i also take subjects in which the papers comprise of about 3 questions. we love essay writing subjects! even so, this is a super useful video, thank you!
Ahh, such a useful video! Thanks, Holly! I have an offer from Cambridge for Medicine and the offer is A*A*A... I'm seriously doubting whether I can achieve this at the moment as I spent so much time at the start of the academic year focusing on personal statement and BMAT & interview preparation...
Literally, thank you Holly, this kinda opens my mind, and change my way of thinking, just like u said, in the end of the day it's only a piece of paper with a score on it. love from Indonesia :)
Holly keeps saying revise early but I’m in second year of a level, one term down already and completely unprepared for exams next term😭 Thanks for all your wonderful advice tho, love your channel! ❤️
I just started my igcse and I stress a lot. I do work hard a lot but I'm so scared for my igcse exams next year. Pls can u make a video for how to not stress too much in igcse / gcse
Ok. I have already got 1A* in GCSE music - I did it two years early😂 I am in my First year of GCSE preparations in school and hope to do 4 A levels! Chemistry, Biology, Maths and German.
Im not even from there so i dont know those exams but this year i have the big exam that my country uses to decide if you study what you want where you want and this was so useful and inspiring!!! I start classes in march and im all ready to start preparing:) also sorry for my english, my native language is spanish
oh no!!!!! but do old specs though for sure!!!! questions/topics/concepts will be similar so don't think there aren't any ways in which you can practice!
The GCP, or CGP I'm not too sure. They offer workbooks, which are about 100-150 pages of pure higher tier questions. They are brilliant! I totally recommend them.

Amazing Advice Holly!!! Getting A*s at A-Level is super hard, but with motivation and a determined mindset, anyone can achieve such amazing things!!
Senthooran Kath but u can’t u have to be naturally intelligent 🤓
Mr Curry Not at all, I know a few people who gets A's now but were the under-achievers as kids. The top graders really have strong and determined mindsets
Mr Curry people have to work hard to be intelligent
specifications are a god send! just last night me and my sister were wondering how our history courses were different (because i am doing the new 9-1 course) and the spec tells you everything you have to know! i was baffled! it really helped me to realise what i had to know!
Please could you do a video on how you turn your notes into flashcards without losing too much detail?
YES! nice video idea!
I second this!
I used the specifications as well. I took the IB and I got the best results in my year :)
whats the IB ?
+ Luke Laing International Baccalaureate program. It is offered at many schools around the world, typically at international schools and at schools with several students who wants to go on studying in other countries.
Well done

Please can you do a 'how I revised' for subjects such as music and RS which are barely covered by any other youtubers

Past paper questions are great...when they exist!!! NEW exams= no past papers :( :( :(
oh no!!!!! but do old specs though for sure!!!! questions/topics/concepts will be similar so don't think there aren't any ways in which you can practice!
The GCP, or CGP I'm not too sure. They offer workbooks, which are about 100-150 pages of pure higher tier questions. They are brilliant! I totally recommend them.
