RUBY!!!! Whether you're convinced or not, I'm SO immensely proud of you for achieving a genuinely incredible (& it really is, incredible!!!!) result! You have every right to feel disheartened, as only you can decide what you were working towards and what you would have ideally liked, but I think you did amazingly!! 💛 your family were also adorable in this! And Martha made me laugh! 😂 Here's to the end of the A level era! Excited to see your Exeter adventures x
Chris Hodges in that respect it is a shame, she spent alot of time working hard when she could have done more “teen” things and only got A*AA. if ruby is happy then im happy but it shows loads of time studying =/= good grades
the way your parents reacted when you told them you got in made me so so happy and how they encouraged you when you were disappointed with your rs results was just amazing, you're are really lucky to have so supportive parents!!
The only reason she’s got to that point is because her parents have subconsciously enforced that fact that she has to do well at a levels to succeed in life
@@benhart4773 u dont necessarily know that. Her parent dont seem like the sort to do so. I mean everyone should just want to do well or ur just wasting ur life.. literally. I mean she did read Harry Potter and Hermione granger was her role model.. she probs just took it from there.
Chris Hodges It’s not a rubbish university at all, if it suits her course well, then why do you feel the need to hate or be negative? Negativity doesn’t help anyone. Try and uplift someone/ people for once! ☺️
@Chris Hodges can you please stop hating on all of Ruby's videos? I've seen you everywhere. Don't you have anything better to do with your time? Why waste it on spreading horrible rumors about such a sweet girl and insulting her based on her personal decisions and lifestyle choices? It's her life and she can live it the way she wants to.

At GCSE and AS I was the same - keep your head up hun those results are stellar!!
@Chris Hodges it is not embarrassing at all. she's doing her best and dedicates a lot of her time to study, which is really great. she's doing the best she can. if the best she can is A*AA, that is fine. everybody is different ; for the same amount of work, some people will have better results than others, it's fine. anyway, please don't say ''it's embarrassing''... how do you think she would feel if she read this comment ? yeah.. (i'm a bit late... nvm)
Mark Magorrian She was annoyed with whatever RS means! She got an A but was expecting higher! She was happy with chemistry because she wasn’t expecting a grade that high!
Don't worry, I got A*AA and I was disappointed too because I was so close to all A*s. Here I am 5 years on and I literally do not care at all, I got my place at university and essentially that's all A levels are for anyway!
Irum Islam I can vouch for this. 10 years later I really have to rack my brains to remember my exact grades at GCSE and A Levels. Apart from putting your Maths and English grades on job applications, literally no one asks you st work what you got. What matters most is that each individual strives for what will make a difference to them, or for what is important to them. X
CONGRATS RUBY!!!! 💚 You've worked so hard and you should be sooooooo so proud of what you've achieved . . . Because it is not only these amazing grades, but you've uploaded videos on this platform, inspired a generation and done so many other great things as well 📚 Bring on university now 😉

A lot of people told me that I wasn't going to make it, never be successful because my low exam scores showed I was not smart enough. Ruby, I'm just like you! I get annoyed even if I get only a few points away from perfect. We have to be proud about our scores. Perfection is overrated. Good job Ruby! Can't wait for your uni vlogs :)
I was 1 mark away from an A* when I did my A levels, it’s heartbreaking but once you’re at uni you’ll completely forget all about those grades! Congratulations you did fabulously! X
So happy for you :D SO excited to see you progress through university and see the awesome videos. We totally understand why you're disapointed, you had expected different results for RS but you've gotten brilliant grades and gotten into your firm. :D

Lucy U It's not necessarily about the time, but the quality of it. If you find it difficult but you want it so bad, life will find a way to guide you. There must be somebody who can help you. However, if there isn't, then life has a better plan for you than you can imagine
I totally get why you are slightly disappointed initially with your RS grade. Throughout the whole year I got topgrades in one of my history courses (never below 75) and in the exam I 'only' got 68 and to get that was just slightly annoying despite getting an A* overall. Don't feel bad about it, it is okay to be ambitious xx
Elise van der Wiel How are grades measured in England? Is the 75 a percentage or points or whatever? I'm from Germany and we get it all measured in percents during the last two years of school, and I was just interested in how it is done in England :).
K a t h i Completely understandable. I grew up in the Netherlands and completed my education there so a levels was just an extra thing and in the beginning I was intrigued by it as well. In England a grade is A*ABCDE and a mark is the 'number' you get out of total. So in my case I got a Grade A* on my Spanish history paper with a total of 68 marks. You could roughly say (at the moment this isnt foolproof as A levels have been reformed) that an A*=100-90% A=90-80% , B=80-70%, C=70-60%, D=60-50% E=50-40%. I hope this makes sense ?
Congratulations!!You worked very hard for the 2 A and 1 A*!!!You deserve them!!!It is OK to be a little bit sad but like Hermione said in the Prisoner of Azkaban "all evil for good"!I am proud for your result!Good luck further!❤❤❤😙🤗
Ruby, I am just SO immensely proud of you! You’ve worked your bum off and you persevered! Sometimes the outcome isn’t concordant with our expectations, but ,believe me, you truly emerged as a morning star with your A level results. You’ve documented every bit of your journey and shed light on this scary process, now not as scary because you braved the wild winds and you’ve sawed a path for many others in the future. You’ve bequeathed them lessons and tools which will help them to strive and attain what you have aimed for. Please allow me to garner you the most heartfelt paeans of praise. Well done, our beloved Granger girl!
So incredibly proud of you ☀️ I feel like I’ve grown with you so much this year by watching your vids and following your study journey. You’re an inspiration. Sending you so much love on this great day, congratulations Ruby 🌻💛
Oh Ruby I feel so bad for you, purely because you are disappointed! We all know that you did absolutely amazing and you shouldn’t be so down on yourself! You’re so brilliant and we all love you ❤️ Have fun at uni!
Well done Ruby! I know what it's like to be disappointed with a good grade when you expected it to be better. I'm so proud of you however, an A is RS is still amazing and you worked so hard all year for this A level. Nothing but proud of you xxx
I'm very happy for you Ruby. I've been following you for a few months and I've seen how much effort you put and how passionate you're about not only studying, but also LEARNING. About the RS, I'm quite a perfectionist myself, so I understand you, but with time and perspective you'll realise it's no big deal, the fact that you enjoyed learning that subject so much is what really counts. And you got into university!!! You are an amazing and inspiring person and I wish you the best for this new adventure that is about to begin x
Ruby, congratulations!! I'm so happy for you and it's actually really refreshing to see that your grades aren't 'perfect' all the time (although they were still exceptional!). Hope you've had a lovely day celebrating today! xxx
GOOD JOB RUBY!! just remember, if you didn’t reach the goals you set for yourself, at least you tried your very hardest, and that’s what goals are meant to make you do!! you did an amazing job, and we’re all so proud of you!
Honestly I can relate to this so much. Being an A* student getting an A for me is disappointing because I know I could have achieved better. None the less congratulations and you should be so happy! Please don't worry about your reaction, it's perfectly acceptable.
The way your parents rushed into your room really made me smile haha they are so sweet! Congratulations on getting into university and your results! :)
I know a lot of people here are saying you should be very happy with your results, and yes, looking at the results alone - they are amazing! But having watched you for the last couple of years and seeing how hard you have worked, it is totally okay for you to admit they are not quite what you wanted. Unfortunately, it is just the nature of the A-level system subjects despite huge amouts of work and talent in the subject you may not reach the top grade . The way papers are marked is often just on whether you tick the right boxes and not your general grounding in the subject - but I promise you, once you get to university eveything changes. You are rewarded for your curiosity in the subject, origional ideas (ones that may not have ticked the boxes at Alevel) and fundamentally your hard work. I have absolutely no doubt that you will thrive there and wish you the best of luck!
I'm just watching this and I realized how cool it was that Ruby ended up with an A star in English and an A in RS. Almost seems like a sign that English was the path for you!
don’t question your reaction, success is relative!! you have the right to feel somewhat disappointed about getting an A because you have your own personal standards ❤️ despite this congrats on your results you did amazing!
Congratulations!!! You did amazing! I understand your expectations/being annoyed because of all your hard work, but to me you are still above and beyond the other students out there. As a fellow perfectionist I understand how you see the small downside instead of your accomplishments, but I hope that you are nonetheless proud of yourself. You are so so smart! I agree that A-levels shouldn’t define anyone. It’s important to remember that it’s subjective.
the number of times i have rewinded that (4:36) maRthAA part is unhealthy 🥲 , the accent is killing me it's so posh !! btw watching this after seeing your oxford videos seems so motivational for some reason. rare yet beautiful personality !!,
basically we apply for uni october through January, get offers and rejections January through May, sit exams June and July, get results August - we find out if we get into university usually an hour or so before we find out our actual grades
niamh In the States (for people unfamilair) there is a choice between 2 criterion referenced exams, academic grades, references, and extra curricular activities. Contacts can help too. These are submitted with the application. March is when people start receiving acceptance and rejection letters. Until the mid-90s(?) you’d get a fat envelope if you were accepted. It had the forms with the registration process, forms for financial assistance, housing, off campus venues (shopping, dinning) , sororities/fraternities (Universiity authorized cliques) clubs; hence a fat envelope. Now days it’s all on line.
So proud of you, Ruby! It's so easy to dwell on the one result that wasn't quite what you wanted, but A*AA is a huge achievement and you should be so proud of yourself. Good luck for the next chapter in your life, and education :)
G M because if she deserved an A* in all her subjects she would have got it unless she had suffered from exceptional circumstances or she was a couple of marks off. But she probably wasn’t.
Aishah Siddeeqa that’s not true.many people work so hard all year and are unable to perform to the best of their abilities, for example they may be ill, family circumstances, extreme stress or nerves etc.im not saying that any of the above apply to her or anyone else specifically, but she DOES deserve to receive the very best grades since she worked incredibly hard
Congratulations Ruby! You're a credit to our generation! Thanks for the community you're building here and for sharing your successes and failures throughout the years. Best of luck!
You know what Ruby we are all so proud of you no matter what you results are despite the fact you did absolutely AMAZING. So glad to see you smiling through everything and you are such a star xx
I am so proud of you Ruby! I fully understand that it might be a bit disappointing now, but believe me, when you're in the middle of studying for your degree, you'll look back and wonder why you ever worried about A levels at all. Now, enjoy preparing for university because the next three years will go by so quickly and you will wonder where all the time went. Make the most of it and enjoy it as much as possible!
Well done well done!!! I can’t wait to see your adventures in Exeter - it’s my home city and the most gorgeous place, I’m sure you’ll love it! Also your parents are so lovely! X
Ruby we’re all so happy for you. I know your initial reaction was one of disappointment and that can’t be helped. But don’t let this phase you. Even if you had come out with UUU I know that all of your fans’ faith in you would not be lessened one bit. Your ability to inspire students the nation and the world over is quite frankly unparalleled and I hope that when you look at those grades you not only think of what they will allow you to do in the future but of what they represent: 7 years of a school and of subjects that you enjoyed and a journey that has inspired thousands of people and counting.
I agree with what you are saying about not being able to get a perfect impression of someone's performance from one grade. I have always worked really hard in school and been near the top of my class in most subjects, but I don't test well so I ended up with really pretty average grades. It can be really disheartening but, as a person who has just finished their first year at uni, I have found that university is much better atgetting an impression of you as a student rather than as a exam-taker. Congratulations on getting your place and on your amazing grades! You are awesome!
CONGRATULATIONS RUBY! - Please don't be so hard on yourself with the grades... A is JUST amazing - heck, I failed my recent exam and I would of just loved to off passed, but, I appreciate your frustration... Notherless, WELL DONE. You have worked SO hard and A Level is bloody hard!!! Please be happy and not so hard on yourself. 💖💖💖

Hope you've had a lovely day celebrating today! xxx
Omg That's so good! Congratulations Ruby! I felt like crying when you got a place in uni
GOOD JOB RUBY!! just remember, if you didn’t reach the goals you set for yourself, at least you tried your very hardest, and that’s what goals are meant to make you do!! you did an amazing job, and we’re all so proud of you!
No matter what happens we will always be so proud x
Honestly I can relate to this so much. Being an A* student getting an A for me is disappointing because I know I could have achieved better. None the less congratulations and you should be so happy! Please don't worry about your reaction, it's perfectly acceptable.
The way your parents rushed into your room really made me smile haha they are so sweet! Congratulations on getting into university and your results! :)
RUBY. YOU GOT A* AND 2 As. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT IT’S IN. YOU GOT YOUR FIRST CHOICE!
Boiiiii "I didnt get an a*"
What did you get?
"An A"
I CAN'T BE BOTHERED
Congrats Ruby! Your parents are so cute, oh my gosh ❤️
I absolutely adore how your parents encourage you! It makes me smile! They are so sweet! :) And your results are amazing! I'm so proud of you! :)
Congratulations, Ruby! You did amazing!
I'm just watching this and I realized how cool it was that Ruby ended up with an A star in English and an A in RS. Almost seems like a sign that English was the path for you!
it was a sign!
Congrats Ruby, you did amazingly and you deserved it 🎉
don’t question your reaction, success is relative!! you have the right to feel somewhat disappointed about getting an A because you have your own personal standards ❤️ despite this congrats on your results you did amazing!
You are so dedicated to your study's you deserve the absolute best x
So inspired by you and your platform ❤️
I’m so happy for you Ruby. You’re an inspiration to students from everywhere. Please keep being yourself!
YAY!❤️ Congrats Ruby! Such a star ⭐️
It’s important to remember that it’s subjective.
the number of times i have rewinded that (4:36) maRthAA part is unhealthy 🥲 , the accent is killing me it's so posh !! btw watching this after seeing your oxford videos seems so motivational for some reason. rare yet beautiful personality !!,
When you’re an American and don’t know what’s going on
radioactive platypus Oh come on, even if you don't know what alevels are it's not that hard to figure out what's going on
lucy r yeah that’s what I figured.
Lol when you're middle eastern and you don't know what's she sayin.
basically we apply for uni october through January, get offers and rejections January through May, sit exams June and July, get results August - we find out if we get into university usually an hour or so before we find out our actual grades
niamh In the States (for people unfamilair) there is a choice between 2 criterion referenced exams, academic grades, references, and extra curricular activities.
Ruby I understand your reaction you DESERVED 3A*s
S J clearly she didn’t
Morgan what do you mean she didn't?
G M because if she deserved an A* in all her subjects she would have got it unless she had suffered from exceptional circumstances or she was a couple of marks off. But she probably wasn’t.
Aishah Siddeeqa that’s not true.many people work so hard all year and are unable to perform to the best of their abilities, for example they may be ill, family circumstances, extreme stress or nerves etc.im not saying that any of the above apply to her or anyone else specifically, but she DOES deserve to receive the very best grades since she worked incredibly hard
HTR xox exactly if you watch Ruby's videos you'll see that she works extremely hard on her exams
Am I weird for bursting into tears when I see how a loving family behaves? These are the things I never knew about.
Congratulations !!! Btw your mother is sooo cute😂
Congratulations Ruby! You're a credit to our generation! Thanks for the community you're building here and for sharing your successes and failures throughout the years. Best of luck!
Lol your sister is a normal teenager 😂
You know what Ruby we are all so proud of you no matter what you results are despite the fact you did absolutely AMAZING. So glad to see you smiling through everything and you are such a star xx
Well done Ruby!! We've watched you work so hard and you've inspired many students in the process!!🎊🎊
Your mum and dads reactions running up the stairs was the best thing ever, so happy for you ruby you did incredible!!
Thant u for this perfect video! You're the best
Congrats Ruby! Nothing wrong in being disappointed in the moment. You've worked so hard and I'm so happy it is reflected in your grades. Well done 😀
The fact you survived a level chemistry is incredible on its own x
Ruby we’re all so happy for you. I know your initial reaction was one of disappointment and that can’t be helped. But don’t let this phase you. Even if you had come out with UUU I know that all of your fans’ faith in you would not be lessened one bit. Your ability to inspire students the nation and the world over is quite frankly unparalleled and I hope that when you look at those grades you not only think of what they will allow you to do in the future but of what they represent: 7 years of a school and of subjects that you enjoyed and a journey that has inspired thousands of people and counting.
Ruby girlll so damn proud of you all your hard work paid of ❤️❤️
I agree with what you are saying about not being able to get a perfect impression of someone's performance from one grade.
Super well done Ruby!!! I would say take a breather now...but you’ll probably still study!!! Xx ❤️
Congrats Ruby! ❤️
Awww you are incredible!!! CONGRATS HUN XXC WELL DESERVED
